To insist that northerners who asked Igbo to leave their land are afraid of restructuring is like to argue that a lion killer is afraid of a hyena.
It is the Igbo who are afraid of leaving Nigeria. When given the chance to pack and go, they started talking of referendum. I am sure if the referendum is conducted they would start asking for compensation. And if you give them compensation they would start talking about their God given mandate to remain in our lands to preach the torah! While they are misbehaving towards us thus, they would be telling the outside world that the evil Hausa people refuse ''to let my people go.''
Only senseless politicians like Atiku would repeat the trash that we northerners are afraid of restructuring. We even welcome the mother of restructuring- dismemberment.

The Nigerian government was clearly in a hurry to label IPOB as a terrorrist organisation simply because it needs to justify its actions. If only the government will let go of nepotism (which is in itself a form of political corruption) and treat all Nigerians as equals the aggitations will cease. The Biafra aggitation isn't only a pull-driven one but also a push-driven aggitation, that's the reason why the aggitations increased in this administration. Just let go of nepotism and watch aggitations fizzle out.

IPOB: Reps resolve to set up committee on agitations, revisit devolution of powers

ON SEPTEMBER 26, 20173:32 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS

The House of Representatives on Tuesday resolved to set up a committee to consult stakeholders on the rising spate of agitations in Nigeria.

Recently, a secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, resuscitated an agitation for a break away from Nigeria.

But the House expressed optimism that the committee would find lasting solutions to the agitations and seek ways to preserve the unity of the country.

The house also resolved to revisit the issue of devolution of powers to foster unity.

The resolution followed a motion under matters of urgent public importance moved by the Leader of the House, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Gbajabiamila had urged the house to set up a “strong committee’’ to investigate the rising tensions and agitations.

The lawmaker in his motion said that agitations for restructuring appeared to be the root to all the problems.

He said the agitations had resulted to proscription of groups like IPOB, loss of lives and judicial pronouncements.

According to him, the house must do all it can to save the country from political crisis.

Gbajabiamila said every lawmaker must speak with one voice to save the country from breaking up.

“It is imperative that the members of the House of Representatives, who hold brief for their teeming constituents must drop partisan politics, ethnic and religious interests and speak with one voice to save our country from disintegration.’’

He also stressed the need for the house to embark on a process of healing and uniting the country through interventions.

The motion was unanimously adopted by members when it was put to a voice vote by the speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara.

POLITICSPython Dance: Lai Mohammed, Army Chief will end in prison – ZionistsPublished on September 26, 2017 By Emmanuel Uzodinma

The Biafra Zionists Federation, BZF, Tuesday, vowed that Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Minister of information, Lai Mohammed will end up in prison over the recent deployment of troops to Abia State.

DAILY POST reports that the Army exercise code-named ‘Operation Python Dance’ led to a confrontation between the military and the pro-Biafra agitators, resulting to reported death of some youths.

Speaking on the developments, the BZF leader, Barr. Benjamin Igwe Onwuka, who had earlier declared himself President of Biafra, said all the people involved in the deployment of troops to Aba and Umuahia will pay a heavy price over the deaths.

He equally scolded Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, who he said was sabotaging the Biafra project, warning that if he did not retrace his steps, he would be chased out of Biafra land.

Onwuka, however, maintained that “banning IPOB will not affect restoration of Biafra. It is a waste of time; IPOB just a group, Biafra is a country. You cannot ban a nation which came into being in May 1957. So, banning IPOB is just simple waste of their political time.

“I said this because Biafra has already been recognized by the international community.

“We all saw what happened at the just concluded UN General Assembly on September 22, where Biafrans were allowed to protest by the New York Government, but such was not the case with the Nigerian Government. Their rented protesters were denied access. So, this confirms our earlier statement that the US has since recognized Biafra, far back in 2013 by then President Barrack Obama.”

On the army invasion of Abia State, the zionists said “it is clearly a tragedy. It is clearly a military invasion; it has nothing to do with IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu. This is the North invading the East because of Biafra. I want to deeply condemn that act.

“The attack on Biafran soil is an attack on all of us. The army is not supposed to be interfere in the internal security situation of the nation; they are not supposed to get involved in domestic security of the country. So, sending the army to Aba and Umuahia was with an ulterior motive.

“Using Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB to as a pretext to kill young men and women in in Abia and other parts of Igbo land, the North will have to pay for it. So, I condemn in totality the brutality of the army in the name f Operation Python Dance.

“We, therefore, state clearly today that all those involved, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff and the Minister of information, will pay for these killings, They will all end up in ICC and then in prison.

“Any one involved in this military force against un-armed agitators will never go scot-free. We are not only going to take them to the ICC but prosecute the matter to the end until they are made to pay dearly for it. This time around, they will not escape justice. They did it in 1967-1970 and went away with it but it won’t happen this time. Britain and Saudi Arabia will not even save them.”

“For Lai Mohammed, can you see the lopsidedness in his argument? How can someone compare IPOB with herdsmen? These herdsmen have been killing people in their hundreds unhindered and that is why I insist that some Northern leaders are behind Boko Haram and herdsmen.

“So, the statement from Lai Mohammed is rubbish and I am telling him today that he will face ICC over the killings in Abia.

“We are as well calling on the Northern religious leaders, the Sultan of Sokoto and the Emir of Kano to call President Buhari and the Army Chiefs to order.

“They should order them to withdraw these troops and rampaging herdsmen from Biafra land”, he added.

On Fr. Mbaka, he said “it is regrettable that our Church leaders, notable ones, instead of supporting Biafra, they are busy using words that do not in any way reflect what is happening. Look at the killings in Abia, have they said anything.

“Go to South-Africa, Desmond Tutu, an ArchBishop was in in the vanguard fighting for the liberation of the people, but here in Biafra, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka and ArchBishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, and several others are campaigning against the overall interest of the Biafran people.

“They cannot be supporting our opponents openly here in Biafra land. If they don’t wan’t to support Biafra, let them mind their business, let them face their duty of preaching the word of God, but involving themselves in attacking the people is very tragic.

“The Zionists are are warning Ejike Mbaka that he is putting his adoration ministry on the line. All the clerics supporting these killings will be sent away from here by the Biafra government and we will take over that his adoration ground.

“Attacking us and calling us names is unacceptable. People are being killed everyday, has any of them come out to speak against it? We have marked Mbaka as enemy of Biafra.”

POLITICSRestructuring: What must be done to ensure true federalism – Governor AhmedPublished on September 26, 2017 By Wale Odunsi

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has called for special focus on political economy in the quest for true federalism in Nigeria in order to ensure class elevation and egalitarianism.

Governor Ahmed who made the call yesterday in Ilorin at the All Progressives Congress, North Central Zonal Public Meeting on True Federalism, maintained that the core of the current agitation for true federalism or restructuring is a drive towards redistributing resources in an equitable manner.

According to Gov Ahmed, “this dialogue should explore ways of ensuring the greatest good for the greatest number of our people. That, to me, is what we must address our minds to within the context of our federation or any other structure that we may come up with”.

He said any structure that meets the economic, and political aspirations of the majority of citizens will be welcomed.

“The nationwide dialogue by APC on true federalism”, the governor said, “connects with its expressed commitment to making governance more meaningful to the people by changing the way people are governed, especially in terms of access to and allocation of resources”.

Also speaking, the Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola said the APC set up the committee on true federalism as a way of aggregating the views of Nigerians on how the nation should be governed.

Governor Aregbesola who is a member of the Committee said the party made the concerted effort of robust discussion in moving the country forward rather than imposing on Nigerians.

In his message, the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Sani Bello said the state had garnered the opinions of its stakeholders and resolved to committing to issues of national development.

Governor Bello who was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Mr. Solomon Nyaze said the state is not in support of division of the country but for policies that will promote national unity and devolution of power.

Various speakers from labour unions, traditional councils, community development associations, professional bodies, marketers, youth and religious groups agreed on the unity of the country, independent candidacy, devolution of power and local government autonomy but rejected the idea of creating new states.

Identify alleged mass graves, Presidential panel tells Amnesty International

ON SEPTEMBER 26, 20178:46 AMIN NEWSCOMMENTS

By Jimitota Onoyume

PORT HAR-COURT— PRESIDENTIAL panel of investigation to review compliance of the armed forces with human rights obligations and rules of engagements has enjoined Amnesty International, AI, to identity the mass grave it accused the Nigerian military of burying the remains of victims of its alleged human rights abuse.

Amnesty International
Professor Hauwal Ibrahim who addressed the media yesterday after the opening session of the panel sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said it was necessary the rights body help the panel and relations of victims of the alleged right abuse identity the mass graves.

She said the panel which had its first sitting in Maiduguri met with most victims of the reported military operations, adding that none of them could point at any mass grave where the dead were interred.

She said the panel visited the military cemetery in Maiduguri, Borno State, in search of the mass grave, but could not trace it, stressing that the rights body could be of immense help with information that would assist the committee with its recommendations.

According to her, Amnesty International which was absent at the opening session of the committee yesterday in Port Harcourt released two reports on alleged violations of human rights by the military across the country with emphasis in the northeast.

“In Maiduguri for example, we are coming from there that is why I am using that place. The chunk of the people we spoke to in Maiduguri are victims. We wanted more of the victims. We did not want to entertain lawyers as much but rather more of the victims. There was allegation of mass grave by amnesty international but nobody could show us this, this is one of the difficulties we had with amnesty international. We went to the military cemetery we could not see the mass grave. So far we have only one side of the narrative, so we hope amnesty will come to prove its allegations,” she said.

Earlier Chairman of the investigative panel, Justice Biobele Georgewill, in his remarks, said the body would want to investigate allegations before it to ensure it came up with credible recommendations.

He said it was unfortunate that Amnesty International did not make appearance yesterday...
