That's what one fool on this forum was arguing with me that fuel must be sold to Nigerians at international rate. Fuel wey be say, the crude is from Nigeria, refinery in Nigeria, workers in Nigeria, yet you want Nigerians to buy the fuel at international rate for something locally produced which is supposed to be dirt cheap.

The raw materials (crude oil) is not free. It's costed at global dollar rates. Refineries are not block making factories or pure water shops, they are very costly to run and staff are paid at global competitive rates. Aside that, if we sell cheap, it'll only encourages the continued smuggling to neighboring countries. Our PMS is still very cheap compared to the rest of the world. What we need to work on is the exchange rates coming down. Exchange rates have an effect on PMS rates. The global price of PMS is about $1 per liter. Simple maths is that we're selling at about 57cents because a dollar is about 1,750. If a dollar is about 1000, fuel prices will come down. It's not a charity.

We can't be talking about growing our economy and making things easier for Nigerians to spur growth and we're using indices that works in other climes as against our own unique situation. That's unfair and untenable.

We must adopt local kinetic measures that alleviates hardship and ease of business which in turn, increases sectors like production and manufacturing which can help drive the economy.
We can sell oil abroad whatever other people are selling, but as for selling to Nigerians, it must be cheap.....like dirt cheap. If it's called subsidy it's fine. As long as Nigerians are able to afford fuel comfortably.

Beyond exchange rate, cost of fuel is one of the reasons there's hardship in the land. This one we can influence on our own directly, it's only fair to do it to turn things around.

This refinery was built with tax payers money.
The oil they're refining belongs to Nigeria.
The people working there are Nigerians paid in Naira.
They don't import much (if there's anything to import) to run that refinery.

So how the heck are we paying more for something exchange rate doesn't influence?

Fuel was 180 when clueless Buhari left power cos we were paying subsidy. Now that subsidy is gone under nepotistic T-Pain regime and imported fuel is 1,100 can someone explain why we have to pay over 1k for locally refined fuel since there's no need for any subsidy?

This man used the pension issue as a strong campaign theme. They voted him on that basis. When he was sworn in, he said all pension and arrears would be cleared in 3 months. He didn't do that. It took him nine months to finally pay these pensioners and paid them only the nine months his administration owed but on the agreement that they'd forfeit the other pensions owed them.
How can you tell someone to forfeit their pension as if you're doing them favor? It's their money!
There's nothing wrong with paying them monthly and ignore the ones owed previously, maybe another govt after him might pay them. But as for hoodwinking them into a fraudulent agreement, that's wickedness.
Now he's saying, if they must have another agreement, they must return the 9 months he paid them. How fair is that? Stop defending wickedness before it visits you!

There should be punishment for judges who intentionally subverts justice.
The appellate court mentioned that the lower court is wrong to prevent the constitutional role of INEC and police. Somebody has to pay for that stupidity cos it cost wanton destruction of lives and property.
