NAVAL operatives attached to Forward Operating Base, Ibaka, Mbo local government area, Akwa Ibom State, have nabbed 13 suspected rice smugglers in two separate operations.

In the operations which took place on the 26th and 29th of January this year, the navy officials recovered from the suspects were 2,053 bags of smuggled rice at the Uyenge creek area.

Speaking on Thursday in Ibaka, Commanding Officer, FOB, Captain Peter Yilme, represented by the Base Operations Officer, Lieutenant Commander Kabiru Yusuf, handed over the suspects and 50kg bags of rice to the Deputy Superintendent of Nigeria Customs Service, Garuba Hassan.

He said the arrests were made during a routine patrol by Navy gunboats.

He emphasised that the base will not relent in putting an end to illegalities on the water ways, and advised the smugglers to desist from the illicit act.

He added that the arrests were were made within three days after 5 suspects and 98 bags of rice were handed over to the NCS.

“On behalf of the Commanding Officer, FOB, Ibaka, I hand over 2 053 bags of seized rice and 13 suspects to DSC KG Hassan of the NCS.

“The arrest brings to fore the unrelenting drive of the smugglers to continue their illicit acts. Nevertheless, the Base will not relent in riding the waterways of all forms of criminal activities in order for legitimate economic activities to strive.

“Smugglers are advised to turn a new leaf and embrace legitimate business activities. FOB, Ibaka appreciates once again, the provision of necessary logistics to the Base by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas.

“Additionally, the Base would not be achieving its operational mandate if not for the spport and encouragement accorded her by the FOC Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral David Adeniran,” he stated.

this zoo country is really trying to make sure Ghana becomes a failed country like their zoo because they have closed their useless border to starve themselves just to see Ghana in flames little did they know that they're dying from hunger and inflation themselves whilst Ghana don't even care. How can a poor spare parts dealer who can't import through China and our better effective ports buh goes to Nigeria to get his goods to sell affect a country of 30 million people people with an economy of over 70 billion dollars.

Check Ghanaian trending news and see our government sharing over 350 brand new ultra modern ambulances to each constituency in Ghana and Ghana gaining 2 billion dollars from African American tourists through Year of Return campaign only and Ghana projected to be the fastest growing economy in Africa by the IMF.
Ghana is more
1.Peaceful than Nigeria
2.Attracted more foreign direct investments than Nigeria last year
3.Far safer than Nigeria
4.Better economic management than Nigeria
5.Better educational system than Nigeria with thousands of Nigerians schooling in Ghana and paying thousands of dollars
6.Better energy and electricity infrastructure and 24/7 electricity
7.Inflation in Ghana is 7.5% which reduces as time goes on
8.No terrorism and kidnappings in Ghana
9.Better roads and infrastructure
10.free health insurance for the whole nation etc,etc
Nobody is talking about Nigerian borders in Ghana like how you came up with the fake news that Transparency International has ranked Ghana as the most corrupt nation in Africa when the real list came just a week after, Ghana was 80th least corrupt country in the world whilst Nigeria was 146th in the world and the most corrupt country in West Africa.

Check your stats right, Nigeria is not the most corrupt African country first and secondly Ghana is way behind in everything. Just so you know the USA, China and most big and better countries you know are more corrupt and owe for debts, stop fooling ya self and use your Upper.. We own sports, entertainment and business in Africa. What more can you ask for, stop been ignorant.

Ladylite:

Didinrin people, naija is slowly becoming an atheist nation o.

So the same Jesus that says if your eye causes you to sin you should cut it off.... Yet no one is quoting such scripture, everyone is attacking the pastor...

So if your child is telling you that the school they attend is not helping them academically... Wouldn't you change your child's school?

What if you owned the school and students are getting distracted by a sexy teacher, wouldn't you change the teacher or fire her.

Abeg this generation has cobwebs in their brain.

So you mean if your eyes will take you to hell you'll rather destroy what is attracting your eyes abi. Think twice
