What do you intend to achieve this? Will blaming a religion stop the next harvest of human parts in Libya? In our very own Nigeria, people of different religion own maids. Sir pls lets be civil some churches in England and Europe were built with slaves labour.

Stop quoting wikipedia, those pages were written by people whom are just as clueless as you on the subject.
There is really something wrong in nigerian education which makes you guys constantly quote wikipedia on things such as undocumented african "history" !
Can anybody show actual evidence for these claims ?
The portuguese were already visiting Benin in the middle ages and the name they wrote down is Benin Kingdom, The Edo people also call their kingdom Benin Kingdom ! and now some fools are telling us a story about ibini or ubini or whatever and that it is the portugues who changed our name ? WTF is wrong with you people ?

Is the ilè ìbínú postulation wrong?

Bro I think u got me wrong. I am less concerned about 2023. Consensus have been reached for it to be zoned to the east. I am only stating that I prefer Amaechi to Kalu and Okorocha, I believe he stands a chance since he is of Igbo extraction.

My friend, you started well until you began delving into your so called Benin folklore you know next to nothing about. That so called folklore is as told by the Ijaw.
Benin never migrated from Ife. The Benin folklore says that their ancestors originated from the sky. Therefore, the Benin king then was known as Ogiso, meaning king of the sky.
Ife came in when the kingdom started having internal strives.Since they could not agree on a king among themselves, they then send to their prince who had earlier fled to Ife to escape been killed to come and rule over them.
It was this Benin prince who had become a ruler in ife and is now called oduduwa, that sent his son to rule Benin.
As you can see, my friend, there is no where in Benin folklore where it was said that the Benins migrated from Ife. It was only a Benin prince who had now become the ruler of ife, that sent his son, oranmiyan, to rule Benin in his stead. And only when the Benins requested him to come over and rule over them
Ur benin prince Ekaladeran. Did he leave alone or left in the company of other people?

You can't just disagree with fact, it doesn't work that way, bini mean water in Ijaw language
What does the binis have to say about this? I thought the name was derived ilè ìbínú (land of vexation). Around the 15th century it was 'ubinu' before the Portuguese. Though, farther Edo clans, such as the Itsekiris and the Urhobos still referred to the city as Ubini up till the late 19th century, as evidence implies. (Wiki)

The bini are a group of yoruba migrants who came to meet the Ijaws in their present location that is why all their ancient words only have meaning in Ijaw language
Ogiso - clear Ijaw word king of the sky
Igodo- clear Ijaw word for key
Bini- Ijaw word for water
For the word 'bini'. I disagree

What about Amaechi? Dude is Igbo (Ikwere) and he is good. As per the North Central i hope you stop deceiving yourself bro. A southerner can only win when there are two northerners and one southerner. This is the 4th republic and people are trying to bring in equilibrium cause of the agitations from the East, size and alliances are need to win the election. The East so far doesn't have the size nor the alliance, to make them rule come 2023 election will have to be zoned. That's just our country

Be deceiving yourself. Your country is fuccked up. I don't know when Yoruba people will use their sense. After 57 fucckking years, your country has refused to develop. Light, una no get. Tribalism, nepotism and hate everywhere. Education sector, poor. Health, road, e no dey. 160 million people manage 6 thousand megawatts of electricity. Funny enough, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Yet some foolish Yoruba's won't allow us hear word because of this hopeless and useless country. If we had left Nigeria 50 years ago, things would have been far much better. When you ask some foolish Yoruba people why they don't want Nigeria to split, they tell you we will all suffer and that we all the tribe need each other to survive. This is the same excuse Yoruba people have been giving for 50 years...generation upon generation, we give the same excuse. Now the question I will like to ask is, are Nigerians not suffering today? What problems and impediment are we going to face in a seperate Yoruba country that we have not faced in Nigeria? Why are some Yoruba people allergic to change? Tell me what the foolish Yoruba people that fought( and died) in the Biafra war to keep Nigeria "one" have gained. They died like ants. They died for nothing. There were sensible yoruba people like me in those day who tried to advise their people in leaving Nigeria, but no, Yoruba people were adamant in keeping Nigeria "one". They put their children and grand children in this hardship today. Yoruba for Benin and Togo nko? That one no concern you. You keep forcing unity down other people's throat. Yoruba people were split into three different countries.
It is better if Yoruba people learn from their past and use it to create a better future for themselves.
Yes sir

i quite agree with this response, only the last line i find puzlingsad
Dahomey in present day Benin was a tributary state to the Oyo empire before King Ghezo liberated it from Oyo. A vassal state pay tributes of 40 guns and 400 loads of cowries and corals regularly to Oyo, of course after phases of wars that made Oyo army a dread to the Dahomeyans. Can we go to Port Novo and start chasing the indigenous people out cause our forefathers ruled in 1400 thereabout. Same with Eko Idumota, the Aworis were Yorùbá they were ruled and paid tribute to the binis and they stopped paying the tribute when 'it was sure for them'

You are right that the blacks are the most selfish and greedy race on earth but it has nothing to do with genes but orientation.

Example, ask Sarrki Madridguy Vedaxcool Superstar1 Onatisi, proudlyyoruba, imperialyoruba etc why they oppose Biafra and you will see the odour of Selfishness and greed oozing out of their mouths

Horsepower101 hope you agree with me.
Bro I am not in full opposition of Biafra atleast it awoke some conciousness among Nigerians. If blacks aren't pushed they won't budge. I can't just sit and you insult my ancestry and you expect me to keep quiet. Mí o n se omo àlè ( I am not a bastard). BTW I want to keep my country border intact. i used to think just like this before but never again will i deceive myself that there is special bond of love between Edo and yorubas.
The division is not from us but from them, and since they've chosen new identity for themselves (especailly their youths on this forum) we have no reason calling them our brothers or saying we are same lest they start suspecting us or thinking they are special. Just slight difference between them and igbo in terms of suspicion and hatred for yoruba.
Did you even see the interview one of their elders, Ajayi bembe granted to punch newspaper last week concerning lagos? If you've not seen it pls do so quickly and tell me why we should keep believing yorubas and Edo are same.
The ones on this forum are nonentities, the important ones are the royals. They are custodians of the culture and laws and they know our connection even though they have a new identity. Àjàyí was just rambling, his Awori assertion proved he doesn't know what he is saying. He claimed and he is not Yorùbá, if you aren't an Awori you are not Yorùbá if you are then you are Yorùbá. Just because we ruled Dahomey doesn't make it our very own land

@ proudlyYoruba, you've have come again with this una jaundiced version of history.
You will twist history in favor of Yorubas while cunningly denigrating that of others.
In future now, the young Yorubas will carrying on with the false history fed to them.
I am not twisting, if you have ur own version state it bro. I made mention of Izoduwa and i quoted a speech of Oba Ewuare at his coronation. I don't fault people and religion what evidence do i have that mine is correct
Culture / Re: What's The Ibo-yoruba-bini Connection? by proudlyYoruba(m): 3:35pm On Nov 26, 2017
proudlyYoruba:
It is just ego bro.
“I therefore stand before you as the 40th Oba of Benin, a direct descendant of Oranmiyan, the son of Oduduwa, whom the Benin people of that era knew as Ekaladeran, their self-exiled prince who later became ruler in Ile-Ife. The Benin people recognise Oduduwa and his origin but it is not our place to force this recognition on others outside our boundaries.“
The history of the world is a shared one and there will certainly be unexpected connections in the future. This is, thus, a time for unity and not divisiveness, a time for mutual respect, recognising that our wholeness as people is so much more than the sum of our parts.”
Diiet, What is clear is that neither Oduduwa nor Oranmiyan coveted the Benin throne. Oduduwa delegated the throne to Oranmiyan. Oranmiyan, interestingly enough, abdicated Kingship thrones twice in favour of his sons. He abdicated the Benin throne in favour of an infant offspring in order to set up a new Empire at Oyo Ile. He thereafter abdicated his throne at Oyo ile in favour of an adult son in order to take up the Ife throne when it became vacant. Clearly, Oranmiyan’s home and heart were in Ife. What they don't want to know is that just because the Chinese Empires of Han, Tang, Ming and Qing occupied the same space doesn't mean they are the same. The day the Ogiso went back to heaven that was the day Igodo thing ended and Ubinu (ilè ìbínú) started.
