Hi I will be moving to Ibadan (Ologuneru-Eleye) area and want to know how I can get good internet / wifi service. good as in good enough speed for steaming video, reliable and affordable... preferably an unlimited plan if I can afford it since it seems YouTube can eat up data pretty quickly |
Kennydoc:actually I don't believe you, what magical, impenetrable border prevented Igbo and Yoruba people from mixing before the 19th century? Any why are there actually hundreds or thousands of other words that are the same or quite similar between the two languages? |
LeoThaGreat:Can you understand Yagba dialect? from Kogi state |
bgees:right, just like you people using names like Victor and Esther, Betty and Kenneth doesn't make you Oyibo, lol. Nas is an American African with no direct link to Nigeria, but I say 8 out of 10 chance that at least one of his ancestors came from here |
radautoworks:ok, I go message you, you should be very close to my location also |
radautoworks:shocks |
looking for a set of 4 tires: 225/60R16 |
lol but no better suggestions? |

Anyone have experience with or knowledge of reliable mechanics who can work on Subaru? (in Lagos) Also, where to find any needed parts? |
I took the leap and tried it... so far so good. Actually they were having an issue with they nearby access station when they came to install (which they were working on resolving), so they were unable to complete setting up my router and secure it with my username and password, so I had to browse on open wifi for a day, but they were quick to come back the next day and complete the set-up. And the service and speed seem to be working fine, but I will update after I've used for some time. (I'm in Ikota Villa just past Lekki Conservation Center) |
pabllov:Does that limit apply to each single withdrawal, but you could keep withdrawing your profit bit by bit as long as each withdrawal is less than you deposited, or does it actually mean that you can never withdraw more than you deposited which is pure nonsense (because then you're guaranteed never to see any profit except on your computer screen) Let's say you deposit $100 and through genius trading you end up with 1,000 in you account, can you simply make 10 separate withdrawals of $100 and go enjoy all your money? |
please share knowledge on any mechanics who are good with Subaru, also where to find parts... I suspect these might be issues since Subaru is not common here |
I'm also curious |
I am trying to figure out how to get reliable internet. Does anyone have personal experience with either of these networks in this area? (Lafiaji road, south of the expressway just past 2nd toll gate). I will probably want an unlimited data plan, due to the fact that I tend to spend time on YouTube |
just reading this, I can see that one big lesson is, don't equate your past experience with Japanese cars to an expected experience with a european car, especially when it comes to maintenance and replacement parts. I looked at an ad for a used infiniti G35, and as soon as my aunt saw it, she said "No, not that one, you will be paying a ton for repairs"... of course Infiniti is Japanese too, but you hardly see them here compared to all the people driving Toyota and Honda so when it comes to replacement parts and experienced mechanics... hmm, I have to trust her advice on that despite the decent price and nice looking pics |
Hi, I actually scored a perfect 1600 out of 1600 on the SAT exam and have several years of experience teaching SAT exam prep in the U.S. I will be moving from NYC to Lagos in about a week and will be teaching SAT English with Key Learning Solutions in Sabo Yaba. They are offering a 10-week intensive summer training program beginning the 23rd of July that will help with TOEFL and SAT test prep and all aspects of submitting strong applications to your schools of choice. Kindly check the link below for more info. And if you decide to enroll please mention my name (Folasona) as a referall. https://www.flipsnack.com/klsbootcamp/kls-intensive-university-application-camp.html Also, if anyone is interested in private tutoring for the SAT, that is another good option. Please message me. Best Regards |
you will run away from the broke guy who doesn't have "enough" money to be toasting you, and be chasing after the rich guy who has enough money to be toasting every fine babe he sees... then when you discover that he is indeed toasting and enjoying the attention of plenty of other simple-minded females you will be complaining that all men are scum or yoruba demons, lol Money comes and goes, but Iwa follows a person throughout life. Owo can make life easier, but Ife makes life worth living. Both men and women need to learn to see beneath the surface and value people for who they are, not just what they have or how the look |
there could be so many practical problems with this plan...It's definitely easier said than done... However, it is SAD, to see most people AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME that it is IMPOSSIBLE to learn Math and Science in a language other than English. Japan is one of the most educationally and technologically advanced countries in the world... I wonder what language their students learn in... did they let the fact that "atomic energy, proton, neutron, nuclei, probability, statistics, intersect, methane, ph level etc" are not Japanese words become an insurmountable stumbling block? If you people are not careful your children's children will be forced to learn everything in Chinese anyway... and Oyinbo people will be making millions selling books / giving lectures attempting to explain the meanings of 'Ase', 'Ori', and 'Chi' |
Hi, I'm wondering, how common is it for Nigerians take the SAT exam? Are there some good companies that offer SAT prep classes? I'm a Nigerian citizen, but born, raised, and schooled in the United States. I actually achieved a perfect score of 1600 on my SAT back when I was young, and have several years of experience teaching SAT classes here (California and also New York). However, I am actually planning to move to Lagos this year and wondering if I can expect to make a decent living doing the same thing- working for a company that teaches SAT and/or offering private SAT tutoring. I'm sure there are plenty of Nigerians hoping to attend University in the U.S. whose parents would be willing to pay for good SAT prep services, but what do you guys think? Is there a high demand in Lagos? Are there any companies I should consider looking into? |
Thank you both! I am learning to speak Yoruba slowly, gaining some fluency will definitely be a big part of my mission. I understand Spanish much better, but unfortunately the only language I am truly fluent at is English. However, my grandmother spoke Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and English so I know learning languages is within my power |
I am a young Yoruba man born and raised in the U.S., I am inspired by Yoruba culture and interested in learning about my roots and carrying forward the cultural traditions of my ancestors. Does anyone know if the school allows students to come from abroad to study? |
It is difficult to find a lot of information about Aganju. I am also interested in learning more. I just watched this Yoruba Movie that I believe features Aganju, although the subtitles say 'Ganju' , but it sounds like they are saying/singing 'Aganju' to me. One thing they keep saying it that it is a VERY powerful deity, and also that it can catch thieves. Of course I would trust the insight from real babalawos, Iyalorisa / babalorisa more than a Nollywood script. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K34xkHO8XWM |

This is hip hop with a serious message. I am an omo Yoruba, born and raised in USA, so I had to respond to the conditions and treatment people of African descent face in this country even in 2014. This song / video "Eyes of Love" was inspired by the recent events in Ferguson Missouri, and the murders of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo etc... I made it to show how beautiful and strong we are even in the face of oppression. #blacklivesmatter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WlSlZYMDf8 Download link: https://soundcloud.com/proverbalizer/eyes-of-love |
