This doesn't answer the question of everyone as you claimed. 2.8/4.0 is not a bad grade, that's a second class lower. Someone from Nigeria got into Upenn with a 2:2 and a very high GRE. If you know some people can't improve, why mention everyone has the potential?

I read his post. He gave a good advice no doubt. I just have problem with his top schools this and that into every conversation. Not everyone has the right profile to join a top school and he is saying everyone has the potential to join a top school. That's just where i have problem with his post.

This is a faceless forum but the way people are sensitive and won’t even acknowledge an advice especially when it comes from someone you all have tagged “outcast” is surprising. Your saving grace “advice” might just be in the mouth of the person you don’t like. People like this can’t have mentors. The question is, can people look beyond those flaws to get the treasures? At the bolded, you have problem with understanding. I personally highlighted the top school part he mentioned and not the funding part. He can tell the fellow to change school and not everytime join top 20 school without knowing if the candidate has the right profile for top 20 schools. That was my point. Top school is not for everyone. Next time read to read understand and don't be fast to speak.

Forget about the hatred you have for Bracelum and read through his comments carefully, you will understand the content of his message.

He said if he wants to spend that much on school, then it should on a Top school and a competitive course. And which is the best thing the guy could ever do.

Every candidate has the right school for his or her profile. Not everyone will attend a top school. Before you advise someone to join a top school, try and know the person's profile. This your random advice on top school this and that irritates me.

Why would someone spend that much on school that is not an Ivy school? If you think you don't have a good profile to apply to a Top school then apply to a regular school but a good one that won't cost you that much.

There is nothing like oversabi in what he was saying. He was only trying to help by telling you what he thought was the right thing for you to do next.

All the VOs expects all students to take Standardize tests no matter what, and sees students that did not take the test as an unserious student.

What he was trying to say is that, what if you try again without taking the GRE and you get to the interview and the VO ask you if you take the test and you said No. It takes only the Grace of God to be approved Visa if the VO ask about Standardize Test and you said you didn't take it. You wouldn't know the type of question the VO would ask you. The VO might not even ask you about English Proficiency Test in your next interview but ask for Standardize Test.

There is sense in what he was saying, you just chose to hate his words because you don't like him. Stop seeing him like he's acting oversabi. Think over his advice before you reapply. At least, you will be able to tell the VO that something has changed about your application.

Who knows maybe God used him to tell you what might hinder you from getting your Visa in your next attempt so you can work towards it.

WES and ECE are all under the ICES.. International Credential Evaluation Services..

Look up on the school's website and you'll see WES or any evaluation under the ICES.

You can confirm it from the website or better still, mail the graduate school.

So as well, visit the ECE website .

Please fams, I have a friend that holds an HND degree and wants to do WES Evaluation, will she evaluate her WAEC too? Or is it only her OND and HND Transcripts that she will evaluate?

Hi guys, good afternoon.
My cousin sent some transcripts to use to prepare for my interview like 2 months ago. I havent been able to stop reading since. Every time i read the transcripts i picture myself typing my own testimony here.
Got my visa approved yesterday morning at Abuja Embassy 7:30am batch. So unlike Lagos and being a Thursday the crowd wasnt that much. We got to the first security check outside, after checks i headed to join another queue where you submit your passport so they can tag it. From there through another security check to another queue to do biometrics. After the biometrics i joined the interview queue and sat accordingly. My heart was beating so fast and my body shivered. I asked God to cover my errors and mistakes and give me favour with the VO. Time to enter for interview, window 7 was a woman dashing denials like handbills, my heart started panting again while i prayed i shouldnt go to her. She denied like 5 people in my front without even giving them time to state their case. the guy in window 8 was more patient with applicants so i prayed to go to him but as God will have it i got the woman. Here's our conversation

VO: Pass your passport and i20
Me: Good morning (as i passed them to her)
VO: Good morning. Why Missouri State ?
Me: (In my mind i was okay straight to business) Missouri State University is one of the few schools that offers Defense and Strategic Studies to civilians and their extensive curriculum aligns with my research and career interest
VO: and what is that?
Me: (Didnt hear her well so i asked again)
VO: Your career interest, what is it?
Me: I want to be a member of the Nigerian Army and this course will help me achieve that
VO: (Types for a while on her computer) How many other schools did you apply to?
Me: 3 others. Georgetown University, George Mason University and University of Texas at El Paso
VO: How many others gave you admission
Me: No other yet just Missouri State University (maintaining eye contact)
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My uncle and his wife
VO: What does he do?
Me: He owns so so and so
VO: Do you have his statement?
Me: Passed it to her

I was very confident that my passport would not return home with me, i froze at a particular point and in my mind i knew i had messed up but God showed up for me and covered my error and mistake. thanks to everyone that contributes to this page, please dont stop. i got a lot of encouragement from these transcripts. I wish future applicants success in their interviews. its not as hard as you think just be thoroughly prepared. I will advice that if your applying for student visa do it in Abuja, that is an advantage already cos its like they give preference to students. All the students i saw got their visas yesterday.

Atleast i could count 6 before me. pls kindly do GRE even if u did not do well.my friend had 278 and his bisa was approved though we both have GA that waived tuition with stipends. I was denied the first time on December 31st 2018 at the Lagos Embassy, My original I 20 got to me on the 2nd of January and so I had to go with a scanned copy for the interview and the first question the VO asked me then was why did I come with a scanned copy, I told her that the original was still on transit and the look on her face was not encouraging and after asking me why this school and who will be sponsoring me, I got the pink paper and so I went back and requested for another I 20, made sure I got it then booked another interview at abuja

Got to the Abuja Embassy,

Me: Good morning (while smiling)

VO: Good morning pass me your passport please

Me: Passes Pasport while still smiling

VO: I can see from your F1 that you are applying for a student Visa can I see that

Me: One of my undergraduate course lecturer went to St. Clouds for a seminar and when he came back, he couldnt stop talking about the school and their laboratories and when i started searching for schools online to pursue my masters degree and St Cloud popped up again, i checked them out and the course they offered alligned with my career goals.

VO: Types for a while. Looks at me. So what are you going to be doing after you finish this program?

Me: The number of internet users in Nigeria has grown from about 20% of the population in 2010 to more than 50% of the population today and the more people that use the internet, the more networks there are, the more security there needs to be on them, this course will help me institute policies that protect organizations physical data and digital information and so i could become an IT consultant, I know i can, i tried to infuse what i learnt in my under graduate studies into my dads business by setting up a website and also creating a program that helps keep track of stock records.

VO: Can i see your bank statement

VO: I am going to check this out and if I find anything wrong you will be banned from entering the USA, do you understand

I hope this helps someone, I owe it all to God, I prayed like I had not prepared at all and I prepared like I had not prayed at all but its all the grace of God.

Last Bullet: I was so tensed the first time and so while rehearsing my answers for the second time, i noticed that smiling made me more relaxed and that was how i was able to overcome any nervousness, by smiling almost all through the interview.

Congratulations darling. I'm really excited about your good news and I can imagine how happy you are now. It's indeed a great testimony.

Did you do Gre and TOEFL

I was given an i20 for spring. but due to availability of date, I had to defer it to fall semester. nd they didn't mention anything like conditional admission that time. I don even submit i20 request which is still pending approval before I got this mail

Since you were issued I-20 for Spring Semester before and it was not stated there, I will suggest you contact your course coordinator or admission advisor to explain to him/her that you don't understand the content of the message because you had been issued I-20 before and you want to know the reason for the sudden change of your application. You can scan and send the I-20 and Admission letter they sent to you for the Spring Semester as evidence of your request.

I think you will get a clear and better explanation for the change of application by doing so.

If you're writing in August, you should start prepping ASAP. Four months is usually the average time it takes very good students to master the process. If you're an average or a below average student, it might take you more time. However, the time it takes you does not matter as long as you get your desired score.

But you should start immediately if you're writing in August. Except you have plans to move the date further. 4 months is usually the average time it takes a very good student to master the test and ace it.

Also, make sure you take one test prep before you start studying. Use the test prep to know your areas of weaknesses. Then focus on those areas. For instance, if you score 95% on geometry questions on your tests, then you don't need to study geometry again. If you spend much time studying geometry, you are wasting the time you need to focus on your weak areas.

The process is brutal - GMAT is extremely hard! Don't be sad when you don't get your desired score in your first attempt. The average Harvard Business School MBA student took the GMAT 2-3 times. Just learn and improve. If a stellar score is what you desire, don't be shy to rewrite as often as possible. But be careful not to rewrite more than three times cos it shows a red flag to the admissions officers.

August is four months away. I hope you are prepping super hard. You can buy their practice tests. They have the best quant practice test on the market - even more difficult than Manhattan and official tests.

Whatever you score on their fresh quant test, you should expect to score higher on the main exam. This is assuming you take the test under normal test conditions.

Thanks alot Bracelum, yeah i also joined GMAT club last year, it has been a great networking experience. I had an unofficial call interview from one of the graduate officers which i met on GMAT club. Which went awesome (his words) and hopefully it leads to a nice scholarship package when i apply in October. Interacting with the outside world as so much opened my eyes to alot of things.
