Omudia11: Over a year ago, my brother noticed our pre paid meter had stopped working. He informed my dad. They took action. Went to the power station to report the issue. PHCN said our meter was faulty and needed to be replaced. Alright My brother said, "I'll just buy a new one then".. After beating around the Bush for a while, they told my brother that new prepaid meters were unavailable at the time and that he should come back at a later time.
Well he did go back a week later and the same thing occurred. They had no new prepaid meters for sale and couldn't fix the old one. They said they were to put on a fix monthly payment but didn't do so. In fact my brother went there too many on that issue that it was starting to look like we were disturbing them.
NB : Note that at this time we were no longer paying electricity bills due to the bad meter and the non compliance of the PHCN officers.
So my brother ceased going there and we kept using the same "old meter" for about one year WITHOUT paying bills. Meaning that we didn't pay electric bills for close to a year.
When they finally came one year later they had nothing on us as it was on record that we had complained about the issue earlier.
During that time we would have spent approximately 180k on bills.
can you just beat that?
check that out. 1 in a million out of so many other unknown cases.
check what percentage of revenue is leaking.
you cant keep working on improving power and not being accountable or measuring the one you have.
mehn! Thanks for sharing. Probably the authorities would learn a thing or 2.
I can imagine so many other leakages going on now unabated.
one thing is sure. Nigerians are very smart people.
That letter former President Obasanjo wrote Incumbent President Buhari can never sway me.
if President Buhari chooses to contest 2019 elections and he scores only just 1 vote, All of you should be rest assured that 1 vote came from me even before Inec releases the identity of the voter.
Should President Buhari present himself for a second term I would have no choice but to #StandWithBuhari.
The Obasanjo letter left me in so much shock and disbelief.
shocked being that he obasanjo had in one time handled affairs of the country as CinC. I feel the letter was ill concieved and at best ill timed.
Being a former president I should expect the incumbent president is grappling with a Lot of National issues at the moment just as well as he attends to Personal issues.
lets not forget President Buhari has managed to keep focus despite his personal challenge of having his son Hospitalised far away in germany.Obasanjo has sought to compound futher distractions to a man that has managed to be unshaken and focused even amidst adversaries.
for the sake of this writting, lets not forget this was an Obasanjo that wanted an illegitimate 3rd term mandate now trying to disenfranchise Buhari of his fundamental human rights to a legitimate 2nd term mandate.
Do we now say this is a perfect case of a kettle calling pot Black?.
I took my time to read thru all the pages of his letter line by line and I summarised to myself Obasanjo wants to constitute himself a god on Nigeria and Nigerians.
.if not, what do you make of it when he says Goodluck Jonathan would never be president in Nigeria again?
is Obasanjo God? or does he know tommorow?
one place I should think he scored a point was on Nepotism. Yes! President Buhari has been very Nepotic on his appointments and really lopesided but then again, "Trust" is something you can never recommend for someone.
You can never recommend me to trust Mr A, cos my trust in him must have arisen from my dealings with him at some point in the past. However if you recommend me to trust someone based on your own dealings with such persons, that "Trust" becomes "Blind-Trust" to me or at best a recommendation. People take to recommendations differently.
one area that got me really irritated and offended was where Obasanjo was politicking around President Buhari's health.
I have seen feable and weak looking people survive bad circumstances even healthy looking people could not withstand.
I have seem healthy looking people drop down and collapse to faint or die with no prior sign.
so again I ask? Is obasanjo God the giver and sustainer of life and health or is he a Medical doctor or Buhari's personal Doctor to advice on health?
playing politics and dancing to the gallery on issues bothering on President Buhari's health is a very low one coming from a supposed elderstateman.
I am dissapointed to say the least. I was left in shock and disbelief cos I know it is easier to critise when you are looking from the stands but in the arena and field of play it is an entirly different ball game and Obasanjo of all people should know that.
leading me to the other points Obasanjo mentioned in his infamous letter to my President and the Peoples president Muhammadu Buhari.
on issues of president Buhari condoning the people of his cabinet.
when he Obsanjo was horse rider from 1999, wasnt he seen as condoning his friends and chasing his enemies alone with EFCC.. objectivity is needed.
when he raised the issue of Fulani Hersmen / crop farmers face-off. To me, I think that is a good place to start with.
let me say it all sounds rethoric anytime this present administration lay blames on past administration. Its the truth and sad reality.
if since 1999 we had a government with foresight that planned ahead, today we wouldn't have issues of Fulani herdsmen attack.
lets start by focusing beam lights on the Ecological funds. these are funds set aside for environmental or natural disasters.
people generally believe a fulani man is president so the fulani's are so uncontrollable and now go around killing people with their fulani brother president not willing to do nothing about it.
that is not the case. Nigeria from the Far North is under attack by the ever encrouching desert. the desert is encrouching on all the aerable lands in the North and eleven front Northern states are under attack by the Desert.
Because these Herdsmen are being attacked by the Desert, they are forced into Migrating further down south.
lets just simply put. Nigeria is shrinking from the North as a result of Desertification and also shrinking from the south as a result of rise in ocean levels leading to migrating pressure on the middle blet region of the country causing frictions and tension and agitation all thanks to Climate change and global warming which is not Fulani herdsmen made.
.Dubai was rescued from the Desert. Meaning to say you can fight a desert and reclaim the land.
if obasanjo and Jonathan had properly utilised the Ecological funds, they should have fought the Deserts stand still ravaging 11 northern states hereby forcing herdsmen to migrate.
Obasanjo shouldnt be writting letters as if he were a saint or has no blames in all of what is happening.
President Buhari is the only president facing 4 chronic security challenges namely Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, Kidnapping and Armed banditry and keeping the peace in the South- south.
Every other administration since 1999 faced a maximum of only 2 out of the 4 president Buhari is facing.
All 4 security challenges President buhari is facing predates his regime and non directly is as a result of his own administartions fault.
Past administrations had not helped this present administration in any way.
president Buhari cleaning up all their mess and paving a way through reinvigourating and re-inflating the economy is no mere feat but an Herculean task.
lets face it. the man only Promised Change and not Magic.
President Buhari is not a magician to just swipe a magical wand and all the problems in and with Nigeria disappears over night.
Change atimes could be slow. change is a process. Change takes time. change could come with pain.
comparing APC less than 4 years with PDP's 16 years of waste is yet another fallacy.
you cant compare a score card of less than 4 years with a failed score card of 16 years.
Saying the APC is no different from the PDP is like pitching Nigeria against herself.
I dare to say! The Worst of APC is far better than the Best of the PDP wasted years.
under this regime Electricity has peaked 7000 megawatts, best of PDP was mere 4000.
We are begining to hear of railways and rail transport under this government. Something that was dead and buried under PDP.
There is beginning to be relative ease to doing business in Nigeria unlike under the PDP days.
There is diversification of the Economy, atleast we no longer import rice from thailand no more. People are begining to realise there is pride in agriculture which wasnt there in the PDP era.
obasanjo thru his letter should not derail the fragile recovery process Buhari has managed to put in place so far.
Herdsmen are on rampage today because of acute shortage of water and vegetation to graze on In the North..
if Obasanjo had fought desertification during his tenure with the ecological funds, Nigeria would not be having this conflict of Herdsmen/crop farmers he made mention about In his letter.
Former President obasanjo should realise he can not be a dictator all the time otherwise it would amount to him ruling Nigeria from the backyard still getting that 3rd term he always wanted.
Obasanjo Should please leave Buhari alone.
On that Note, it is #SaiBaba2019 InshaAllah God's willing and God spearing our lives.
Note: if obasanjo wants to cause a divide to have people choose between himself and Buhari. I would 100% take sides with Buhari without fear or favour irrespective of ethnicity, tribe , region, religion.
pcicero: You might need to understand that his taciturn attitude towards issues made him a target.
Some of us blamed Goodluck for allowing Boko Haram to fester. They even shared his picture dancing at a Kano rally after some attacks.
It was convenient to blame Jonathan then for what Ali Modu and other governors allowed to grow under their watch.
Buhari is not the architect of our Today's security challenges we face as a nation.
obasanjo fought a little boko haram and Niger delta militants.
Yaradua fought boko haram and militancy.
Goodluck jonathan was overwhelmed only by boko haram.
but today, Buhari is facing Boko haram, settling militants, armed militias here and there, kidnappers, herdsmen crisis.
all of these he inherited from previous administrations. So it is wrong to make him seem weak or ineffective or as if he were doing nothing about them ...
boko haram grew wings under the goodluck regime.
herdsmen crisis started way back but nobody saw it coming or payed attention to it, today it is a major problem.
buhari didnt promise Magic.. he only promised change.
change could be very slow and very painful and most times comes with a price.
Buhari is not a magician and doesnt have any magic wand.
Change is gradual just as it is slow too.
Why do people now develop headache when same is extended to Buhari?
laudate: And I need you to pick up a dictionary and look up the meaning of the word "trespass," as well as "dispossession" and "criminal offence." Did I not say you would come back in here, to write a lengthy epistle to justify the Fulani herdsmen's wilful transgressions? Yes, you have not disappointed me.
Am glad you quoted the Bible, and mentioned Abraham's migration. When God gave Abraham his marching orders, He never told Abraham to trespass upon other people's lands, or covet their crops and property. Neither did He tell Abraham to nourish himself, his family and their livestock, at the expense of others' lives or their source of livelihood.
Your problem is that you believe others must be dispossessed of their land and crops, in order for the Fulani to survive. This arrogant mindset which does NOT acknowledge the fact that other people have their own survival challenges, and the right to live peacefully on their own land within their territory and domain, will always jeopardise any migration plan of the Fulani herdsmen into the Middle-Belt. It is why their migration, will always be met with resistance. The Fulani pastoralists do NOT have any rights, over the ancestral and communal lands of other ethnic groups, simply because they are nomadic herdsmen!
Dubai was a desert, and so were many parts of present-day Israel before they reclaimed it, and made it habitable for their people. Today, Dubai is a tourist destination, with a healthy economy. Your Fulani big men and people in authority, will not understudy them and learn how to turn the northern fringes of their desert into an oasis. They will not learn how to reverse or mitigate the bad effects of drought and climatic changes.
Instead, the arable land which is shrinking in the Middle Belt due to leaching, overflooding, mining activities and population expansion, is what they want to trespass upon by force, and find a way to frustrate farmers and their families, into handing over to them.Their evil plans will not succeed.
If drought and desertification is chasing the Fulani herdsmen further south, please be informed that the communities in the Middle Belt have their own peculiar challenges too, as their arable land and crop yields have shrunk considerably, and in some cases, it can no longer meet all their needs. But they have not moved into other areas, to chase away their neighbours, or trespass wilfully on land that does NOT belong to them.
The migration process of 400 BC, is totally different from the migration activities of 21st Century. Today you would probably require a passport, hotel booking and visa, to go on the same journey that Abraham did. You cannot just wake up, and decide to lay claim to the lands of others or take over their property, because you are a nomadic herdsman. In any sane society, you would be thrown in jail, or fined heavily after eviction. The laws are there for a reason. And the Fulani herdsmen must be reminded at every turn, that the freedom to swing their arms, ends where the nose of other tribes begin!
Hey.. good morning.
I perfectly understand from your stand point of view but the point is this.
people make it seem as if a fulani man is President and so fulani herdsmen are on a killing spree because their brother is president.
thats not the case.
lets literarily say Nigeria is shrinking from the North as a result of desertification and from the south as a result of ocean surge.
so we have a situation where there is migration to the middle belt from both North and South.
this scenerio gives rise to agitations, strife and competition for available resources.
thank goodness you mentioned Dubai being reclaimed from the desert.
we have the "great green walls" projects. We have ecological funds.
what have been made of them.
you see! The seeds sown today are harvested tomorow and hence any Buhari initiative can never and would never be felt today except in time to come.
all the security challenges this Buharis govt is facing are seeds sown by previous obasanjo and jonathan governments if it doesnt even predates them.
Buhari can not start reclaiming deserts now and even if he started today it would take years b4 we feel the impact and that is why to take a look at the cause of fulani herdsmen being on rampage, it must be wholistic.
if previous government had utilised properly Ecological funds perherbs today we wont have a case of this forced migration.
fulani herdsmen are not migrating at will but are being forced to migrate due to circumstances beyond their control.
this is not a case of Tresspass or dispossession. No it is not ..
it is either this fulanis perish with their cattles remaining in the desert or migrate to look for alternatives.
their migration is causing a whole lot of trouble and we know it but 2 wrongs dont make a right in any part of the world.
Obasanjo is busy writting useless letter up and down as if he was a saint and hasnt contributed in one way or the other to Nigeria's problems.
if the PDP were a planing govt that had foresight, reclaiming of the desert should have been a piority project in their 16 useless and wasteful years.
all the problems germinating for Buhari to face today were planted during the obasanjo and Goodluck regime yet the old man in otta who would not respect himself would be writting letter up and down as if he is a saint and didnt contribute to Nigeria's problems.
victormeg: My guy the issue about Nigerians leaving lights on in the name of security light no be talk at all. In this country where security is not guaranteed, so we should leave in darkness abi? Not if your light tire you, off it Biko.when bros dem ambush you for darkness, you will understand the difference between oh oh nepa and up nepa.
I am just talking generally on how people waste electricity and leaving ur security lights on even at day time when u dont need them is one way people waste electricity
I agree with some points raised like Po putting off bulbs during the day, using Energy bulbs etc...
My question is I know many people who by-pass their pre-paid meters and they have constant light without paying a dime... Mind you, we have over 15hrs of light daily this side...
How do you report those people? I know the Nigerian mentality will say wetin concern you but I don't care...
Note: Don't tell me to report them to the nearest office, as nothing will happen of they give them like 10k - 30k, yes that is how cheap we are.
Nigeria is a very big and complex country. as you try to solve one problem, another one arises but I believe monitoring and enforcement units must be set up to ensure compliance and anybody found foul of the law should face penalties.
I perfectly understand when u say people by-pass the meters.
that is sabotage and short changing government of revenue and cheating other tax payers.
kevoh: Even in houses that have the prepaid meters already installed, so many people still bypass the meter thereby avoiding payment of electricity bills. My neighbour is an example. Dude bypassed the prepaid meter, leaves his two 1.5 hp Airconditioner 24/7 and uses those 100 watts bulb for security light which are permanently on whether there is someone in the house or not. Who knows what other appliances he turns on 24/7! These sets are worst offenders as other street neighbours on estimated billing are the ones who end up paying the power consumed.
bro. I feel your pain oo.
my nebor uses 3 air conditioners and I am dead sure they cant pay the bill if they were being metered
Ngasky: This writeup is actually 100% true. We are actually wasting energy needlessly here in Nigeria. Someone qouted US above, did you know US is one of the highest energy conservative nation in the world? You can never see one red bulb in use in America. One red bulb is equivalent to 5-8 equivalent white bulb also equivalent to about 300 led bulbs in term of power consumption. Now i challenge anyone to go out in his/her neighbourhood and count how many red bulbs and how many energy saving white bulbs are there. The red bulbs are cheaper around 80-100 naira per one while the white bulb is more expensive about 300-800 naira per one, but in terms of energy red bulb consumes 100watts -200 watts, while white bulb consumes less than 30watts. Now let me explain the above in layman's language, if you used one bulb for 12 hours every day it means for one month (30 days) you would have used it for 360 hours. Now lets compare what you should pay as utility bill for that one month at the current Nigerian rate of about N30/Kwhr RED BULB (100watts) 100 watts X 360 = 36000 whr= 36Kwhr Amount to pay for that single bulb = N1080.00k each month
WHITE BULB (22watts) 22 watts X 360 = 7920whr= 7.92 Kwhr Amount to pay for that single bulb = N 237.6k each month From the above a consumer will save N 842.40k each Month from each bulb by choosing power saving white bulb. Now multiply this by the number of bulbs in your house and see what you are wasting
Now to the government they are supposed to make the prepaid meter a priority. Not generation of power. Because by metering all households everybody will be cautious of his power wastage. And it will make the investors in the power sector to increase their generating capacity because they only get what they delivered to the consumer no more free estimated money. And in case they didn't supply power to your homes for one month they cannot get a single naira from you just like the prepaid gsm charges. EVERY HOUSEHOLD SHOULD BE METERED BY PREPAID METER. that's what we should prioritise in Nigeria
Bros like u stated in dis ur your long ostentatious epistle up there " am wondering weda cos i stayed in a priority area" stop wondering Mr cos its the fact.....
My jobe requires me to be moving all over the country and so av experience the prejudice segregation in terms of electricity to some certain areas
Were i currently stays now i also enjoy 23 hrs of uninterrupted electricity due to the fact that EFCC AND DSS offices are all in the same area
While av stayed in some places still same state but na 2-3 hrs of light max a day
it has to start somewhere and I am glad u attested some places are getting piority now. In the past it wasnt so.
Nonso92: You shouldn't blame Nigerians on wasting electricity.
My dad retired with NEPA, and you're right, prepaid metering would have worked, but those meters were brought in and instead of it to be distributed, they were sold to the highest bidder.
I know of a man that spent almost 50k just to get a prepaid meter in our estate, because he got tired of the bills they kept bringing every month without bringing electricity.
So OP, the fault is from the head. It has always been.
I can bet that the rate at which electricity is wasted in the US cannot be compared to what is being wasted here.
Like I said, you cannot waste what you don't have.
unfortunately in the US they dont waste electricity.
HallaDaTruth: It's complete foolishness for Nigerian to supply constant power to neighboring countries but starve her own citizens of it. I do not see the wisdom in that
Ever8054: electricity has improve....you say what!!!!? when we only have electricity 2 hours in the day time 30min in the night and 2hours middle of the night...lobish
that is rationing. Find out. Either you have shortage of transformers to handle the load in your area.
laudate: This is just how these Fulani herdsmen and their clique, cause trouble in Nigeria. You migrate en-masse into someone's land, without any permission and take up residence there.
That piece of land would definitely belong to someone or some community, yet they have disregarded that fact, and decided to camp there. If the owner raises an objection or tries to evict them for trespassing, they will claim they are being attacked and would launch an attack on the community.
And people like PStacks will write lengthy epistles, justifying their act of wanton and wilful trespass, upon another person's land. Tell me, when things degenerate to the level of hostility, who bears the brunt?
If a report is filed against them at the police station, the authorities will turn a blind eye. When fight starts now, you will see arms flying round - left, right and centre. It is a pity that Kogi people have a renegade, clueless, narcissistic joker who claims to be in charge of the state, at the govt house.
I need you to pick up a dictionary and look up the meaning of Normadic Herders..
they are not settlers, they only migrate.
migration is only in search of food and water.
I am sure u are a christain. Look up your Bible and see where God told Abraham to leave his father land and was to take him to a land Abraham new nothing about.
would you say Abrahams migration was to dispose people of their land.
when Joseph and his brothers were tending to their fathers floks, they migrated so far in search of food and water and that was why they could commit a crime against Joseph by wanting to kill him but later sold him to slavery in egypt.
the brothers could perpetrate that act cos they were far far away from home as a result of some sort of migration.
you see! It is not only Fulani herdsmen that migrates. Herdsmen all over the world migrate and Migration pre dates us.
people started migrating as far back 400BC.
The problem here is not migration, the problem is Acceptance, tolerance, peaceful and mutual coexistence.
the issues are simple.
drought, starvation and hunger are driving these people further down south cos of adverse envinronmental factors like Desertification, climate change..
Lets put it in lay man's term. Nigeria is shrinking from the North in terms of availabilty of water and green.
do you then expect those in the 11 states of the north affected by the ever encrouching deserts to remain in the desert for the desert to kill them and their Life stock?
PDP squandered Ecological funds they should have used in fighting the deserts stand still.
these problems are over whelming and it is convinient for you to just sit there and say Buhari is not doing nothing
conservation of power is key to sustain and increase electricity generation and distribution.
Before I proceed with sharing my opinion, I would like to sample what other people think about the overall general Electricity situation in the country. where I stay, since december last year Electricity has been 23 hours daily everyday till this day and I am wondering if the power situation had improved that much.
I shared this with some random persons I meet online and the person was of opinion that it is because I stay in a piority location.
Be that as it may, I believe electricity situation in the country has improved generally and you cant take that dint of hardwork away from the Minister in charge of Power and his boss the president that asigned him that ministry.
I mean, electricity generating capacity today is about and around 7,000megawats unlike the 4,000 that was available in the Jonathan days. the drive and political will is there. We are seeing works on going at the Mambilla and all other sorts of tact being implored to increase and sustain electricity supply.
the essence of this thread is not to shower encomiums on the present APC government in that regards, that would be left for a later day. However I have been baffled by my recent findings.
in the last two months I have had reasons to visit 2 neighboring West African countries. Benin Republic and Niger Republic. my findings were Amazing. First and foremost was the constant supply of electricity. in Cotonue Benin repulic and in Maradi Niger republic, their electricity is constant K and it never blinks. What I found amazing wasnt the fact that Electeicity was constant but indigenous people of both coutries alluded to the fact they knew we had power shortages in our country Nigeria while both their countries were supplied constant electricity from Nigeria.
simply put. Nigeria powers Niger Republic and Republic of Benin with constant electricity while there are deficiencies and shortages and atimes total power outage in Nigeria.
That was really ironical if you sort my opinion. well, those were what I was told and as amazing as they were, what I was told didnt amuse me as much as what I saw first hand for myself.
Considering their constant availability of power atleast in the places I visited, one would think their use of it would be excessive but rather its the other way round. In the suburbia neighborhood where I stayed in Niger, People had this very modest approach to life and nothing too ostentatious, on a whole street laden with various houses, you would hardly find any house with a source of electricity or light outside, what in Nigeria we would term "Security light".. let alone leaving them on in the day time like we do in Nigeria.if you were walking down a street where people reside in Chadwua Niger republic at say around 7pm at night, what you would think was that it was a remote village with no access whatsoever to electricity, but when you get into a compound of abode in their rooms, you find electricity and even at that, people are contious of the type of electrical appliances they used and what quantity they used per time. they regulated and controlled their use of electricity that they may pay less. for example, in say 6 bulbs over all In a house, at nights mainly, only 2 were switched on and not like other 4 werent working in other parts of the house. so, in essence what picture am I trying to paint? A picture of people that Conserve Electricity. people that have more electricity use lower amount of electricity productively and we that have lesser electricity supply use more wastefully..
People must begin to realise that sustainable electricity begins with them.
switch off bulb you arent using. use those L.E.D bulbs, they consume less. when your refrigerators are frozen, switch them off. It would take hours to defrost, only then again you can switch them on. There is a way you could have electricity supply in your house and your consumption of it is next to zero which then begs the issue of "Pre-Paid Metering".
You see, there is a psychology behind metering. Because you believe you have a guage running, you want to always beat the meters or extend the time differetials inbetween payments for what you have consumed.
What this write up seeks to bring to bare is this. before all of the measures of boosting electric supply in the country yields significant rate of success every household or coporate organisation must be metered.
People should pay only based on consumption. issues of estimated billing systems gives room for a lot of fraud and corruption in the system. in Nigeria because there are no metering systems in place you see houses that use more than their capacity pay less while houses that use less than their capacity pays more.
estimated billing can never capture true usuage. To me generating more power without Metering is like fetching water in a basket.I should have thought that Pre-paid meters were mandatory, but what do we have, a case of hoarding and black market selling to highest bidder.
For us to Achieve success in our over all power situation in the country, we might have to take a look and borrow a leap from our fellow West-African countries of Niger Republic and Benin Republic by proper metering to monitor consumption right from the grassroot.
Metering goes a very long way in helping to conserve power.
In conclusion,
I would close with this Peter Drucker quote which says and I quote"You can not manage what you do not measure"... Peter Drucker.
Do you mean PDP also caused this? To begin with, blaming all the woes of Nigeria on PDP's 16 years has not only become a worn-out cliche but puts this govenrment in a bad light. We knew the shortcomings of PDP when GEJ was voted out.
Buhari presented himself as the solution. And you all voted him in.
To the crux of the matter, i first heard of ecological funds during OBJ's tenure. That was the beginning of PDP. There were various instances where state governments were accused of diverting such funds. Ali Modu Sherrif of Borno (ANPP-PDP-APC 2003-2011), George Akume (PDP- APC) were some of such governors.
explosivesedo: I hope I got the headline of this article right, and if I did I would like to reveal the reasons why I think google Adsense publishers will decrease with time.
Over the years, google have recorded the number one ads publishing industry with the highest number of publishers globally. This is without any doubt a standpoint for the number 1 ads publishers in the globe.
Considering how much I hate to admit this but it is true, google has the best ads rate and they also monetize their publishers traffic way beyond what other ads publishing industries can offer.
Google Adsense is the best in the website monetization business but still something about them isn’t just right.
We did say something about them isn’t just right but actually we literally mean somethings about them aren’t just right. It would oblige us to explore the indescent stuffs and attributes of google Adsense programme which will reduce their publishers with time.
Before we dive in to our reason for putting up this article, let us quickly note some upgrades that several other ads networks are making so as to meet up and eventually overtake the ads publishing industry.
. Propeller ads started out an upgrade of awarding its new users a $25 bonus just for signup. This was started late last year (2017).
. Several other good ads network have a minimum withdrawal limit of $50 which outweighs google Adsense withdrawal limit of $100. This specifically means that bloggers who might be needing their revenue fast cannot cope with Adsense and probably will move to other ads publishing platforms.
. Google Adsense monetization deals greatly on website niche and also the country specific traffic which in what case you have a double reason to rethink your usage of google Adsense. On the other hand, other ads publishing platforms basically looks at your traffic country and not essentially your website niche.
This gives those bloggers in google Adsense unfavourable niche to have a greater chance of diverting their interests.
. Google Adsense monetize with CPC and CPM whereby if you have noticed well their CPM isn’t too important as their CPC and this is why bloggers in such huge traffic niche as entertainment, dating and lifestyle have to dig the cement ground to make a good earning with google Adsense.
Note: google Adsense CPC for huge traffic websites such as entertainment and dating is relatively low ranging from $0.02-0.10.
. If you have an entertainment website with a huge traffic, say (10,000 visitors daily) you could move to a better ads network that monetize through CPM (cost per thousand visits) and you’ll be earning $10 daily or more. But considering Adsense, you may be earning as little as $2 as a result of your websites niche CPC on Adsense.
Having stated these, let’s now look at the bad sides of google Adsense that might get their publishers to decrease with time
Much policy to follow Several google Adsense publishers have quitted the platform for a better option with other ads publishing networks where they get to see smaller rules to abide by.
We all know how difficult it could seem when we are told several things to do just to be able not to go aside the rules and if any one of the rules gets disobeyed you will suffer the same damage as if you failed all the rules.
Specifically, publishers do frown at this deeply and that is why these days you see other potential ads networks like revenuehits, propeller ads and media.net pushing forward as a result of lesser rules to follow than google Adsense.
Issue of Adsense ban With a little flaw you could face a very long lasting Adsense publishers ban which doesn’t happen often with other ads network even when you go against their rules.
I have severally heard bloggers say that when you monetize with google Adsense your greatest fear will be google Adsense ban e-mail message.
The rate at which google ban their publishers is too high irrespective of who you are or what you have to offer and this is another reason why google Adsense publishers are pushing down the drain to try out other prospective and better ads publishing networks.
Strict rules None of google Adsense rules is simple or bendable as all comes with same severe punishment of facing Adsense ban.
These rules are so strict that we the Adsense publishers should apply severe caution while dealing with them to avoid being caught up in the middle of nowhere.
Selectiveness of website and niche Well we have spoken about this before but for relevance sake let’s brush through it.
Google Adsense strives to be extremely selective when it comes to monetizing some website and their niche as some niche pay lesser while some niche pay better.
Google Adsense is simply substituted by other ads networks which monetize through CPM and has no preference in website niche.
Payout options Google Adsense has a high payout option of $100 whereby it is not every blogger that is able to get to that peak before the said month runs out.
This is why several other ads publishing platforms makes provision for monthly $50 withdrawal and some payout $20 per month or whenever you are able to get to the minimum withdrawal you can request your withdrawal.
CPC issues This is where several bloggers face hell.
The CPC of several blogging niche falls to be extremely poor and this cause them to be unfriendly with google Adsense.
speaking of low CPC websites niche, we talk of entertainment, dating, relationships and these website niches are considered the highest quality website niches and they pay lesser.
As a result of this, several bloggers in the said niche now monetize with CPM ads publishers so as to convert their huge traffic better.
Never predictable income I know you will be disturbed with this spellout but it is true.
As google Adsense monetize only with CPC, it therefore offers no daily predictable income as the visitors that clicked on your ads today may not come to click on your ads tomorrow and the day after.
This is why upon huge traffic some websites still make little income.
It is better and more predictable using a CPM based ads publishing network whereby you know that for every 10,000 visitors you’re making $10 and nothing less. This is better predictable than using google Adsense unpredictable CPC based ads network.
Only loves certain traffic and frowns at several traffic sources Where your traffic comes from deals a great time with your google Adsense revenue. Google Adsense selects the traffic to give higher ranking and also brings down the value of referral traffic if you know what I mean.
Sourcing traffic from Facebook, and other social medias brings down your website CPC even if you fall to the high CPC based website niche.
Google frowns at social media traffic, referral traffic and software traffic as far as it still do with CPC and website niche.
“Google Adsense loves search engine traffic and direct traffic”
You can believe with me that google never gives such a good amount for traffic coming from Facebook, twitter, google+ and other social medias if you are a blogger who shares your articles there.
Wrap up
Monetizing your website with google Adsense is a very easy way to earn better income with your website no doubts but we presume its high time you tried other better ads networks and know what they really have to offer as google Adsense isn’t where it all ends.
Note: the major push to earning with your website is a high quality, targetter and good traffic.
We still see other good websites monetizing with other ads publishing networks on CPM basis and still make it just as google Adsense publishers do.

PaChukwudi44: bloody terrorist!! This thread is not about IPOB but about the terrorist Miyetti allah hore organisation.Seun and the mods should ban this terrorist to avoid further pollution of this cyber space
so the scares of IPOB are still fresh.. bad lossers.
IPOBians seeks the slightest national discuss to vent their anger..
laudate: Don't mind that retarde'd character. His evil Fulani killer herdsmen have been burning entire communities to the ground, killing innocent men, women and children, and he is here justifying their brigandage and killing, because they are facing "Desertification, climate change, global warming, depletion of the ozone layer etc."Do farmers, grain millers, goat rearers, poultry owners, fish farm breeders and those in other agro-allied professions, not face the same thing? Are they not affected by the ozone layer and global warming, as well?
He is trying to make it seem as if the Fulani herdsmen are justified for engaging in their killing sprees, simply because they want to survive. How sick! Don't other people want to survive, or aren't they also entitled to have a peaceful life? He has not brought up any suggestions on how to tackle the cattle rustling caused by the Fulani killer herdsmen. Instead, he is making stuvpid advocacy online. Wubbish!
people pass thru schools but never allow the schools pass thru them.
PaChukwudi44: where is Seun and lalasticlala ? Nairaland is supposed to be against terrorism. This OP is a terrorist and wants to use this website to propagate their sick ideology. Its high time terrorists like this are banned froom nairaland.
you should be excuminicated from the nairaland community for calling the president a cow.
[quote author=PaChukwudi44 post=64417827]so the gibberish you posted here is enough to justify taking another man's property so that cows can survive? You expect me to reason with you when am not a cow? The only reasons something like this is happening in the first place is because we have a cow as president. Can you try such in Ghana?[/quote
it takes a cow to spot a cow PaChukwudi the Biafran agitator.
when Biafrans dont get what they want they result to all manner of tactics to heat the polity.
Why did your brother Nnamdi Kanu chicken out?
calling the President of the federal republic a cow is the height of disrespect and as such I have no business dealing with you no longer.
if you knew better than the cow, you should be occupying the number 1 seat of the land..
PaChukwudi44: did anyone suggest that? Does every other tribe go about taking other people's property? If they fulanis want to rear their cattle they should buy lands and build ranches .BTW don't be too sure about your NEVER EVER!!! like I said no one has a monopoly over violence!!! By the time regional militias spring up across the regions and begin to mete out reprisals then you will know.Buhari will not be president forever.
then it would be said of Nigeria as a country that self-destructs... hazards to themselves..
I have said it over and again. We are not a "United States of Nigeria" but an " Amalgamated States of Nigeria"..
PaChukwudi44: WTF do you mean by taking sides? you are dragging someone's property with him and you want me to side you? You mean you have a right to dispossess a an of his own possession just because you want cow meat? are you for real?
you talk dispossessing people off their land.
ask yourself.
ask yourself.. are they dispossessing people for the fun of it or their hands are being pushed by factors I highlighted earlier in the post .
again.
Dessertification. climate change. global warming. depletion of the ozone layer.
all these are not the making of Fulani herdsmen and correcting it should have been under the PDP administration if they had foresight.
Long and short. To return herdsmen to their place up north. The Government must fight to reclaim the Desert ravaging 11 states in core Northern Nigeria..
PaChukwudi44: exactly access to natural resources!!! Since the fulanis wants to feed their cattle.Everyothe rpeople must donate their lands!!! Chai!!! what a mentality!!!
are u suggesting all fulani herdsmen be evacuated from Nigeria... ?
say something else cos that is NEVER EVER going to happen
