That aside, comic universe and movie universe are different, though very similar. A character can be any thing in comics but in movies, there is always room for adjustments.

My point is, it's doesn't make sense to change a character that we've always know as straight to gay all of a sudden, same way it's not fair to change a popular gay character to straight. Same thing goes for feminism.

Imagine if in the next Tomb Raider, Lara Croft becomes a man, or James Bond becomes gay, or Charlie's Angels become men, or Spider-Man's Aunty becomes an uncle.

There is always room for another character, another superhero. Make them gay or black or anything but don't touch the already established ones.
