Is it great VFX that makes great shows

Did Daredevil have better VFX than Arrow? But it attracted positive buzz and a lot of fans didn't it?

I just finished watching Pennyworth season one finale and I must say that the show is one of the best comic book shows, the story is so engaging and keeps you at the edge of the seat.
It's a great show.

I can't give two fvcks about VFX. I just want a good show.

Pennyworth is amazing and it's a lot better than the overrated Marvel's FATWS.
VFX be damned.

Superman and Lois nko?
HBO Max collaborated with CW and delivered a great and relatable Superman show but no it's not good enough for some people because of the VFX which is not bad at all.

They want high budget kpish kpish, no problem.
Green Lantern show was given a heavy $100m+ budget, Justice league Dark is expected to be big budget as well, Peacemaker is almost done filming.
Make dem relax

As for me I just want to see a great show.

DC TV has done some very good shows.
Smallville
Gotham
Pennyworth
Stargirl
Swamp thing
Doom patrol
Superman and Lois

Apart from the big budget MCU shows that started this year, how many Marvel shows are better than the aforementioned DC shows I listed?

No be everytime person go dey talk about CW like that's the only thing WB achieved with DC TV.

Infact WB have done a good job with their DC shows and they want to do better with their big budget shows coming next year and beyond.

They are doing well in that side, more power to them joor

I enjoyed the fight sequence in Black Widow, only the Melina fight was fake AF.

Twas a good watch, funny even. I like the lady that played Yelena, she is good.

Overall, its a 7/10 for me.

And what was that 'marvel's' ending.

It has to be a misdirection, cos TF!!!

Let's wait and see what the upcoming HBOMax shows bring. Starting with Peacemaker!

CW still has a decent show and good VFX — Stargirl. ooh forgot, Superman and Lois.
Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing from DC universe has shown they can bring quality, visually and plotwise.

Titans keeps delivering very good costumes.

Illumination from Universal has movies with over a billion dollars gross. You know Wetin Minions dey generate. F9, you know the billions wey only one film don generate back to back for the past 4/5 yrs. Jurassic World, you know the billions. One film don hit $2bn if I'm correct.

Sony has Spiderman with $1bn. Jumanji with over $900mn. Jumanji still has potential for over a Billie as long as they keep producing.

The only one not a billion is Paramount's Mission Impossible. Still they got Transformers, automatic billion dollars grossers.

Which franchises??

LOTR and Harry Potter are billion dollars franchises. A movie from these franchises can easily generate $1 billion.

Monsterverse and Kombat aren't billion dollar generating franchises. Although, Monsterverse has the potential to deliver such, if WB continue to develop it.

I'm just hoping things pan out. I'll be closely looking at TSS to see how the future pivots.

I think part or a major cause of the problem is this:
WB are now overdependent on DC to deliver the goods in the box office. DC is the only surviving big franchise still in the game now and able to do billion dollars pull over.

No LOTR, no Harry Potter~ Fantastic Beasts is underperforming and too sparse release. Look at other studios. Conjuring is still a midsized fish in an ocean.

Disney has Disney, Pixar, MCU and Star Wars. Universal has Jurassic World, Fast and Furious, Illumination to fall on to. Sony has Jumanji, Spiderman. Paramount has Mission Impossible and Transformers (although out of commission for now). If you look at these, they are franchises with billion dollars return still waxing strong. Animation that WB would have developed competency in, they totally abandoned that genre for Disney and Universal.

WB has only DC, for now. Fantastic Beasts sef is until next year. That's the reason the whole focus is on HBOMax now and they didn't mind sacrificing movies for the streamer to shine this year.

PS: my opinions tho, I might be wrong. That's just my own deductions.

They never knew what to do with what they had. Imagine how WB could have ruled box office in the 90s and 2000s... when they had all their characters. Disney wouldn't have been super big like now.

Well, WB has never seen potential in DC before Disney came in. They never did.

I don't think it will really matter if it's a flash point or not, what matter is how well they use the flash movie to course correct. Like I always say the biggest cheat DC has is the flash, if they execute well, they just might be back in the game.
