Rumours have it that WB cut that scene to 3 minutes because they wanted another movie on old gods. That scene was envisioned by Snyder to be like the long opening scene of Lord of the Rings. But we never got it...

That scene is a product of Whedon version. The actual recording for that scene in Snyder cut should have been about 15 minutes long and would have introduced a whole new mythology into DCEU.

that was an easter egg. It didn't link infinity war to marvel. But cap marvel did the linking in its film. It's like u saying just becos a guy wearing a jacket with the name Jordan whose face wasn't shown on an arrow epis0de meant arrow linked up with green lantern. All that symbol showed was fury reaching to s0me0ne who could've been any0ne. It didn't link directly to the cap marvel film. N0w had it been, fury said s0mething like "where in the galaxy are u danvers?" b4 the symbol came on, then it's a link to the film.

There, thor had linked up with cap america and showed what happened to selvig after the ending of thor that led right into avengerz. N0w, take out, thor the m0vie, u would see we would be missing imp0rtant details like what happened to the tesseract after cap america or how loki came to be with it or how shield found it. But take out shazam fr0m the dceu, we haven't missed any informati0n. Shazam just stands al0ne without any link to a previous or future film. We can't use that supes cameo cos we never got a face. There were no reference to previous events of other films.
