SEO as well as SEM are terms that are being used frequently on the web nowadays so it good to get acquainted with it. Any Nigerian business or startup in the Nigerian eCommerce landscape needs to know which best suit their business. SEO refers to Search Engine Optimisation whilst SEM refers to Search Engine Marketing This article would highlight difference and which fits best to your business What Is SEO? Activities you undertake on your website, such as maintaining a certain keyword density such as Web Hosting Nigeria or Domain Registration in Nigeria, or on other websites, such as link building, with the intention of ranking higher on search engine results pages, is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). What Is SEM? Paying search engines to send qualified traffic your way, probably using a pay-per-click mechanism, is Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Which One Is Better for eCommerce Businesses in Nigeria? There is no one convincingly answer to this question as it is a function of requirements, goals of the business owner. SEO Is Better for eCommerce Because… 1. you expend resources once, and reap benefits forever. 2. once you achieve success in your SEO, it is a formidable competitive advantage that is not easy to replicate in a short period. 3. ecommerce websites tend to have inherently poor SEO. As a result, even a little effort can bear substantial fruit. 4. users, who can distinguish between organic results and ads, tend to find organic results more credible. 5. is expected that in the long run, the cost per visitor will be a small fraction of what you will end up paying for SEM campaigns. 6. in some verticals, SEM spends have turned prohibitively expensive. SEM Is also Better for eCommerce Because… 1. SEM campaigns start yielding results instantly, while SEO can take months. 2. you know exactly what you are paying for, and you are able to measure the return on investment (RoI). 3. your SEM spend won’t suddenly be worth zero when search engines such as Google tweak their algorithm 4. once you hit the winning formula, you can keep scaling up your SEM strategy with great ease. 5. most ecommerce businesses observe that, on a per visitor basis, PPC traffic converts better than organic search traffic. 6. you get to control how your brand name and other attributes are treated. The pros and cons that are brought out by the above lists are compelling. Clearly ecommerce businesses in Nigerias cannot entirely overlook either SEO or SEM. Here are some conclusions you can draw: 1. If your ecommerce website is new, you can’t wait for SEO success to kick in. Consequently, most of your resources, say 90%, should be spent on SEM exercises, and the remaining 10% on SEO. 2. As time progresses, and you find some SEO success, you can gradually increase the allocation of resources to SEO. 3. Given that there will always be something you want to promote “right now,” you will need to lean on paid traffic forever. In the long run, you can hope to stabilize at a 50-50 spend on SEO and SEM activities. |

https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Mikel2.jpg?7d0985 Some fans of Chelsea have asked for Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi to be sold following the sale of Oriol Romeu to Southampton on Wednesday. According to talksport.com, the fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure over the sale of Romeu, positing that instead Mikel should have been the one to be shown the door. One of the fans, @_flemzeey, praised Romeu while wondering how Mikel is still at the club. He wrote: "Mikel is still at Chelsea but Chelsea is selling Romeu….. Watch that boy become a big name in EPL in 2 years time #CFC." Another fan, @CFC__Talk, added: "Good move for Romeu hopefully can get his form back, personally I prefer him over Ramires and Mikel but I'm not manager #CFC." A rather disappointed @jescfc was blunt, writing: "Rather have kept Oriol Romeu and sold Mikel instead. Astute purchase by #SaintsFC. Nevertheless, reported £7m is decent business for #CFC." Unhappy @HarryHail moaned: "The saints get a great talent in Romeu and we are stuck with Mikel for another season #CFC #saintsfc." Romeu joined Chelsea from Bracelona in 2011 but injuries and loan spells restricted his appearances for the Blues to just 33. He was on the bench for Chelsea's 2012 Champions League final win, but spent the last two seasons on loan at Valencia and then Stuttgart. Mikel has been at Chelsea since joining as a teenager in 2006. |

News report that former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola shelled N78.3million of Lagos tax-payers money on his personal website, has stirred a huge buzz on twitter. In tweets and retweets, commentators have been expressing derision and disgust that the former governor could have approved such a questionable expenditure under his watch. The consensus is that the cost was grossly exaggerated and over-inflated. A WordPress website, like http://tundefashola.com/ should not cost more than N3million, according to expert opinions. The story was broken by BudgIT, quoting a budget report on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency. The contract was awarded in 2014 to “Info Access Plus Limited”. A Google search by TheNEWS did not turn anything out about the company. SOURCE: http://saharareporters.com/2015/08/07/former-lagos-gov-fashola-spent-400000-build-personalised-website

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has committed his future to the Premier League champions by putting pen to paper on a new four-year contract. Mourinho won his third Premier League title with Chelsea last season as well as lifting the League Cup - the first trophies since making his return for a second spell at Stamford Bridge. The former Porto boss spent three years in west London early in the Roman Abramovich era before enjoying trophy-laden spells at Inter and Real Madrid. Rumours had suggested the 52-year-old would agree a new contract following a successful season with the club and, having restored Chelsea to become the dominant force in English football, Mourinho's new deal until 2019 was announced on the eve of the new Premier League season. "If the club is happy, I am happy," said Mourinho. "I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future - for the fans, the players and the club." Mourinho's initial exit from Stamford Bridge came about due to a disagreement with wealthy owner Abramovich, although relations appear to have improved in recent years. Speaking shortly after wrapping up the Premier League title last term, Mourinho stated he would "stay as long as Mr Abramovich wants me". source: http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/mourinho-signs-new-chelsea-contract/ar-BBluSbI
