Olaola01: Pls how will someone know if its not non straightforward maill.. How will it be written. Thanks
post=105615982]Means you stand 10% chance of getting a visa.
Dear xyz ,
Thank you for your UK Visa application GWFxyz123 which has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days , and Settlement applications within 60 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service).
Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we are unlikely to resolve your application within these customer service targets. Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to enable a decision to be made as soon as possible.
We will keep you updated as to the progress of your application but in the meantime please do not attend the application centre until you have received a further update. We will notify you by e-mail once your application has been decided.
baseg25: Sorry to ask oh. Why do people get invited for interviews?
I just want to know, or is it a normal process for everyone ?
Its not dear, no need to worry. Some cases are unique like mine. As for me, am just confident they are conducting a background check on the person i said am going to stay with cuz 40% of the first interview was on that. An application she put forward was refused last month self, so am just facing the brunt.
Even @delxmaverick also confirmed that they asked him alot on his uncle, whom he said he was going to stay with.
Its not about finance, else they would have just sent the refusal immediately. Its just about the study gap and the unfortunate coincidence.
onyiibest8: Should be an error. I had the same issue. Got another interview invite 2 days after interview. I wrote them and they asked me to ignore that it was a mistake.
Am still waiting for a decision since 6th July.

No previous refusal. No change of course Yes, Study gap. 10 years. My finances, but i told them by father and sister supported me and the gave me some funds, later when asked about my POF, i said that it was my savings. Is that a contradiction. Family can support ba?
My dear, i can only imagine how you feel, 6th July is exactly two(2) months today, how do you sleep at night? Ordinary one week, i lost weight cuz i couldn't eat. Please hang on, there is something they are finding very difficult to let go, else you would have received a refusal by now (God forbid). When they are tired, they will release it in Jesus Name.
I just hope my case is a mistake cuz i poured out my heart in the first interview. I have even started writing down the things i said the first time to avoid mix up. But i would prepare harder this time, and leave no room for errors.
Goddys: Bro, did you apply from Nigeria? It seems the visa process is getting tedious now. Even priority is taking close to 2 weeks. I did biometrics on 30th August but haven't received any email yet since then except that it's been transferred to dmc.
I'm still thinking there's something about your application that necessitate this 2nd interview. Just prepare well
I know, there is something they want to clarify. Its the person am going to stay with and it has to do with refusals in the past(not from me, this is my first ever time). They are really digging into to make sure am really genuine. I will prepare.
I saw this online and just want to drop it here.....
During the interview the interviewer will write down everything that you say and will send this record to the Entry Clearance Officer (ECO). The ECO will then make a decision on your visa application on the basis of your credibility interview and all the other supporting documents you submitted with your Tier 4 visa application. You may be called for a second interview if the ECO needs further information and clarification on your situation.
Please who knows the questions asked during interview as I have been schedules for interview tomorrow after receiving non-straight forward email last week.
Also print your Visa Application Form and memories all the answers you gave and stick to it. Dont change anything. If you say you are going to stay with someone, know some basics about them. Age, full name, address, when they got to the Uk, job, salary what type of Visa they are on and so on.
If you have a study gap, please go back to you first degree course, and realign with all of them.
When asked how much you will earn when you come back just say any figure higher than your tuition so that the ROI will be clear.
Give the impression that you are coming back after your study to help "change" Nigeria with your newly acquired skills(i missed this part in my first interview)
Lastly try and align your future ambition to your course.
What’s your profile like ? Any previous refusal Change of course from bsc to msc Educational gap What questions do you feel you didn't answer well the first time ,
No previous refusal. No change of course Yes, Study gap. 10 years. My finances, but i told them by father and sister supported me and the gave me some funds, later when asked about my POF, i said that it was my savings. Is that a contradiction. Family can support ba?
delxmaverick: I tell you… Whoever has it all smooth don’t know what God did for them… They interviewed me twice… an hour for each session… It’s all good… You can send me an email Bruh then I will drop my number.
There is always a second chance…
Guy, i have been invited for a second interview. I dont know why but am more scared more than the first. We really need to talk. Please send me your number at dude_punky@yahoo.com.
Clarine: Again people are different and experience is different. If I don’t have anything to hide I don’t see why I can’t make friends with them. Even amongst Nigerians are the evil. Be care of Nigerians abroad. People should live their lives not based on fear. If I have nothing to hide, no one can nail me. I am not illegal.
Amarathripple0: Your advise is really weird, asking people to be overly guarded and to delete their social media page is really off. Unless one has something to hide, there’s nothing wrong with having an opinion about your government.
And as for not trusting people, this only brings unnecessary paranoia. People can only expose bad and illegal activities, if you are abiding by their rules and not working beyond the limit set, then what’s there to expose.
Guys please, network, make new friends, be open about your struggles as you never know where you’ll get assistance from but be sure to only give out the information that won’t come back to bite you. Shalom
Am not here to argue but this bolded is so so wrong. Do not ever try it, you will regret. Wish i can talk more, but i cant. No one, i mean no one should know your business.
I clearly understand what he meant by deleting your social media accounts, the internet NEVER forgets, you might miss an opportunity because of something you uploaded ten years ago. But do what works for you, he simply gave an advise. No need to argue just take it or leave it. Those guys are not friendly.
anthonanik: I would love to use this great podium to congratulate September intake and will be waiting to get to know some of you not all.
And Also I'd like to thank those like horsey, justwise and co so much for their immense contributions to this great platform.
I will also like to encourage some of us that are still seeking for admission and visa application process to continue pushing because the hassle worth it when you adhere to rules and regulations in place.
My candid advice goes to those coming this September, when you get here or while you are still in naija. I get to learn this things I'm about to share with you guys myself but the only reason why I want to share it is, we are great in life not because we are able to avoid mistakes or being successful in our endeavours rather we are great/heroes when we help someone else to escape the mistakes we made ourselves!
The rules to adhere to when you enter UK are 1. Deactivate your social media handles or use a different name/ block public from viewing your previous post even down to 10yrs back/ delete violent post/ any post talking bad about your home country or government comot am! 2. People here are FRIENDLY to get information about you and they will use it against you especially in your working place, we all watch Hollywood and we see how compassionate they are but reverse is the case! Keep your work stuff at work! In fact, let everything that comes with work end at work! e get why! your working fokes na them! 3. Talk good about your country! that's if you can't keep shut! Talk less! don't give them clue!
4. Mind your business. Like some of us that came here single looking for.. to marry, they will laugh with you and the same person will stab you when you least expected it! God has purpose and different plans for each and everyone of us to stay back/survive. Just stick to God and watch Him fix you or allocate your own stay. For me, I'm still optimistic that mine will come...hahahaha anyway I be January intake!
5. Lastly, when you get here, don't ever let your luggage's out of site! people here can still your shoes if you fell asleep on train or bus station here! Not saying that all are bad but when you come here be very careful! Naija may be bad but at least we know how portray genuine love not fake it! although we have Judas for naija as well hahaha.
Noelatnairaland: Did biometrics on the 6th of August, Priority service. Got a non straightforward email on the 12th. Sent a paid mail on the 17th of August. Got another non straightforward email on the 25th, was scheduled for an interview on the 31st. 31st came, no call. Sent another paid mail on the 1st September. Got interviewed on the 2nd... Hoping on God for a positive outcome.
ovbokhankris: Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre. With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision. We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.
This was the reply i got September 1, 2021 after sending a paid mail to UKVI immigration.
Biometrics August 12, 2021 (Priority Service) Not straightforward mail August 17, 2021
Yet to receive any other mail
Any body in same situation with me?
I was in that shoe, then i sent a mail and i was scheduled for an interview with home office which was not easy.
The Not straightforward mail came from Pretoria right?
justwise: You still don't it and its really important that we don't mislead people here intentionally or not.
Even if you are going to book AirBnB or hotel ...you still have to answer YES to that question.
Apart from the family member's name and phone number, you don't have to give answers to the rest of the questions if you don't know them. Most time they know answers to those questions but still want to test your integrity/honesty and you will be kicking yourself if you failed that simple character test.
My dear am not misleading anybody.
For any first time applicant who has not applied to the UK before, even if you know the Queen. Just say NO.
The truth, you will not be judged by any information you did not provide (application) nor say (interview).
justwise: So in the name of the same God she should lie? You have family member in the UK and you are going to stay with that family member but when you are asked you answered No?
I wont say any further dear, am telling you from experience, my interview lasted for 1hr23mins and 30% of the interview was on that case.
1. how long will it take me from there to get to school. 2. Dont i think that 50 mins is such a long time. 3. If she was not there would you still want to come to the UK. 4. Will she be dropping me off everyday to catch a bus.
The interview will flow to other questions and boom he will return to it and ask how long have you known her.
Please avoid it, just book an AirBnB. Its not worth the STRESS.
Also make sure you have not quoted them, even if you do, just say you will not stay with them as you want to focus on your studies and be close to the school accomodation. Truth is that i wanted to just say no, but my sister said i should put it. I regret doing it anyway. And dont get me wrong, i got all the questions correctly except where she works and how much she earns. I simply told him i dont know and i dont want to give him wrong answers.
MissOwaa: I have written and called, yet nothing. It remains for me to go to British High commission to beg them to release my passport. I’m really at a loss, no call for interview nothing. It is well! I’m not the only one though about 4 more people with the same complain. UKVI Pretoria. Dunno why my own had to still remain in Africa! Lol
Fear that Pretoria, their over sabi is too much. My non straightforward mail came from there.
obisdupsy: Please should I declare we have someone in UK. She's a citizen and she is my husband sister. We will be staying in her apartment. Do I click yes or no
I advise you in the name of God, dont. I said i knew my blood sister, the interviewer asked:
1. What is her name, 2. How old is she. 3.When did she come to the UK. 4.What type of VISA is she on. 5. What does she do for a living. 6. Where does she work. 7. How much does she earn
i just tire
My dear, just book and AirBnB close to the school and provide the receipts. No question will come from there.
delxmaverick: Hi Guys! I need help regarding my visa application. I already submitted and my application was refused on the ground that they are aren’t sure I will actually study when I get to the UK.
I was interviewed twice… first interview was not scheduled while the second one was. The questions they asked were 90% similar. And TBH guys, the first interview wasn’t good enough but I quickly prepared myself for the second interview but unfortunately they didn’t use that to assess me.
Now the issue is I am being asked to request for administrative review which is kinda new to me… I would appreciate assistance on
1. How to make a valid argument in my review 2. Or should I just forget it and focus on a new application 3. What are the implications if I don’t review the decision 4. And may I ask what is the success rate of administrative review… 5. Can I still apply at Teesside or a different school would be better for January admission
I have more questions but let me stop here first…
I need help o… Thanks Guys!
Hello,
Please how long after your second interview did you get a response. Did they send this as a mail or did they send the normal 'travel documents available for collection' mail then when you got to the TLS and opened it you saw the letter?
delxmaverick: I tell you… Whoever has it all smooth don’t know what God did for them… They interviewed me twice… an hour for each session… It’s all good… You can send me an email Bruh then I will drop my number.
There is always a second chance…
Tried calling the number you sent. Another person picked and said wrong number or am i missing something?
caleb00: I need advice, I was using my dads account as POF but my dad died recently and I want to know the best step to take
Would I still be able to get a recent bank statement from his bank or should I send the money to many account and start another 28 days, considering my course starts this month
I suggest you move the money into your account. The best way to handle UKvi is to provide little information. Before you say JackRobinson 1. When did he die 2. Do you have the death certificate. 3. What was he doing before he died. 4.How much does he earn. 5. Are you his only dependents.
My dear, move the money sharply if you can and never mention your dad in the picture. Its your personal savings.
delxmaverick: I tell you… Whoever has it all smooth don’t know what God did for them… They interviewed me twice… an hour for each session… It’s all good… You can send me an email Bruh then I will drop my number.
