One of the women abducted by Boko-Haram insurgents on June 21, 2017 in Borno state, northeast Nigeria, has been identified as Gloria Bukar, ALEDEH can exclusively report. Recall that the insurgents had released a video on Monday, July 17 of the women they abducted from a police convoy in Borno state on June 21. While the Federal Government of Nigeria has denied the abduction which took place over a month ago, ALEDEH gathered that the police convoy was actually attacked just about 70km after Maiduguri enroute Damboa before the women were abducted. Similarly, the Borno State Police Command had denied Abubakar Shekau’s claim, saying there was no police woman in Boko Haram’s captivity, despite the later saying the abducted officers had become his slaves. Findings by ALEDEH revealed that a total of sixteen (16) women among whom were ten (10) female police officers and five (5) of our source's relatives were abducted on the said day, 21June this year.
