The Arewa Youth Coalition has faulted a part of President Muhammadu Buhari's Monday broadcast where he said ' Nigeria’s unity is settled and not negotiable'.

The group noted that the unity of the country is being threatened and as such the government should conduct a referendum to provide an exit door for those who do not want to be part of Nigeria.

ALEDEH recalls that the development is coming at the time the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is calling for a referendum even as Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of the federation has also said that the Oduduwa Republic will emerge should Biafra Republic be created.

The National Chairman of the coalition, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, made this call on Tuesday while addressing reporters at a town hall meeting for the North East geopolitical zone which took place in Gombe state, northeast Nigeria.

Reacting to the President's statement, Yerima noted the Mr. Buhari should have taken some time to have a clear review of situations in the country after spending 103 days abroad.

According to him, “The president just came back from his medical vocation. In normal circumstances, one should have expected him to take some time to have a clear review of situations in the country after spending 103 days abroad.

The Federal Executive Council meeting for this week which was scheduled to hold today has been canceled.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina made this known in the early hours of Wednesday, August 23.

Adesina did not give reason for the cancellation but went on to say President Muhammadu Buhari will receive the probe report on the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke, at 12 noon.

The maiden edition of the Chamberlain Squash Open (CSO) will kickoff later today at the squash section of the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The tournament which was dully registered for by eighty nine (89) players, has a total prize money of $12,000.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has once again shown his tolerance for religions.

Buhari who returned to Nigeria earlier today, August 19 after spending one hundred and three (103) days in London, United Kingdom on medical grounds, was spotted praying with Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha who are both Christians.

Also Present during the prayers, were the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, Governor AbdulAziz Yari of Zamfara, Minister of state for aviation, Hadi Sirika, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and other top government officials.

The prayer session came few hours after the President’s plane landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Late Ex-Governor Danbaba Suntai’s Younger Brother Dies Hours After His Burial

Babangida Suntai, the younger brother of late former Taraba state governor, Danbaba Suntai has passed away, ALEDEH can authoritatively report.

ALEDEH gathered that the younger Suntai died Saturday evening in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital few hours after the burial of his late Elder brother and former Governor of Taraba State, Pharmacist Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, who died June 28.

A family source who spoke with ALEDEH, said the younger Suntai was rushed to Abuja last week for treatment but was officially declared dead by the doctors this evening.

Top Nollywood producer, Amayo Uzo Phillips has thrown his weight behind current agitation for the Republic of Biafra led by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and director of London based radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The film maker who is the Chief Executive Officer of Whitethrone Films Limited, gave his support to the ‘Biafra struggle’ on Social Media network, Facebook on Saturday, August 19.

Mr. Phillips who is known for directing top Nollywood movies like 'The Python, Chicken Madness, Pastor's Blood' and a host of others, joins the league of Nigerian celebrities supporting the much talked about ‘Biafra struggle’ championed by Mr. Kanu.

Apparently referring to the Nigerian government who have refused to conduct a referendum for Biafra, the Nollywood producer said " Pharaoh has no choice but to let the people of God go".

An audio account obtained by ALEDEH, has revealed what could be the true story of the killings at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozobulu (not Ozubulu as many have erroneously called the village) located in Ekusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state, Southeast Nigeria.

Recall that unknown gunmen attacked St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozobulu on Sunday, August 6, killing eleven (11) people and leaving eighteen (18) with serious injuries.

Why the main reason for the attack is still speculated by many, ALEDEH however obtained an audio account tracing the killings to a long drug battle which commenced in 2013 in South Africa.

The audio obtained by ALEDEH, revealed that the issue started when [b]Chief Aloy Ikegwuonu also known as Bishop, brought an indigene of Enugu state to South Africa to understudy how the drug business works.

The said Enugu indigene served under Bishop for 9 years after which he (Bishop) was to pay the unnamed Enugu indigene his entitlements which he delayed but later paid after serious pressure was mounted on him.

Though Bishop had taught the Enugu indigene the basics and other rules of the business, the Enugu indigene however grew more stronger in the business than Bishop and thereafter took many people (customers) who were patronizing Bishop at the time away.
This very act got Bishop pissed as he was seriously struggling with the business since the Enugu indigene had mastered the trade which eventually pulled more clients to him both...even Bishop's clients.

After seeing that he was growing stronger in the business and gaining more popularity than Bishop who taught him the trade, the Enugu indigene returned to Nigeria where he was able to convince a total of One hundred and eighty (180) men to fly with him from Nigeria to South Africa to act as partners in the drug business.

The audio also revealed that seventy (70) out of the 180 men were well known and successful drug barons in South Africa.
Apart from Bishop's clients patronizing this Enugu indigene, he also pulled away all the suppliers that Bishop had, thereby making more money than Bishop.

On seeing that he could not contend with the growing popularity of this Enugu indigene in the drug market space in South Africa, Bishop assassinated the man so as to regain his popularity and clients as well as his suppliers back.

Shocked by the assassination, the partners of this unnamed Enugu indigene launched an investigation so as to know his true killers as it was not yet known then that Bishop was the culprit.

The audio revealed that in the process of the investigation, a meeting was held in the house of the former chairman of Ozobulu people in South Africa known as Snoop. It was gathered that Snoop was asked to swear that he had no hand in the killing of this unnamed Enugu indigene which he (Snoop) refused and he was killed later.

While Snoop was killed, another identified as Ebubedike but mostly referred to as Ebubedike Ozobulu in South Africa lost his wife through assassination in America over the killing of this unnamed Enugu indigene.

Apart from Snoop and Ebubedike's wife, no fewer than twenty (20) people have been killed over the death of this unnamed Enugu indigene, the audio revealed.

Apparently scared with the killings, Bishop relocated to Nigeria, Anambra state to be precise where he had since become a well known contractor who is into road constructions.

Few years later, those seeking the revenge of this unnamed Enugu indigene, trailed Bishop down to Nigeria from South Africa.
Before the incident at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozobulu, the assassins went to Bishop's compound they couldn’t find him, they made a phone call and were told that Bishop's father was in the church; so they decided to go there and unleash mayhem on anyone on sight.

The audio revealed that those sent on this mission are said to be from Kogi or people from Ebonyi state; who were hired to kill Bishop.

Bishop who is yet to know those who want him dead, was said to be in Owerri, the Imo state capital when the incident at the St. Philips Catholic Church occurred.

Two key events have already marred 2017 from being a perfect year for Willie Obiano, the governor of the south eastern state of Anambra; the loss of his mother and the attack in a church. That attack alone left in its wake eleven (11) people dead and eighteen (18) injured in St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Anambra state, southeast Nigeria on Sunday, August 6. The number one citizen of the state would have been receiving an outpouring of goodwill messages because it’s his 62nd birthday today, Tuesday, August 8.

While the governor was still reassuring the people that the November 18 governorship election will hold after IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu had said it will not, the enemy of the state decided to strike in the cathedral leaving Anambra in a state of mourning.

The murder in the cathedral was the least Obiano could have foreseen, this is because Anambra has not been listed among the states in Nigeria with security risks. Though the unfortunate incident has occurred, the best a ‘chief security officer of a state’ could have done was what Obiano did on Sunday when he visited not only the scene of the incident but also assured Anambra people that the worship centres and other places in the state is safe for them even as he promised that the culprits of the St. Phillips Catholic Church attack will be brought to book.

Would we say the people did not believe him? no they did, this was also why his political opponents could not ‘blame’ the governor for the ugly incident even when many thought that would be the case.

The ‘no blame game’ is a clear signal that Obiano has not failed the people as the ‘number one citizen’ and ‘chief security officer’ of the state.

Before the Ozubulu incident, Obiano was widely celebrated by Anambra people and non Anambra people for the good works he has carried out in the state since he took over from Peter Obi who was another spectacular performer.

Personal Assistant to Nigeria’s President on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie says her principal, President Muhammadu Buhari is a ‘private citizen’ and such should not be asked to reveal his health status.

Onochie who made this comment on ‘Politics Today’, a program on Channels Television’ on Monday night, stressed that it is ‘disrespectful’ for Nigerians to demand for the health status of Mr. Buhari.

Making reference to the United Kingdom, Onochie stressed that “nobody would release anybody’s health record to another, not even the members of their family unless the person decides to approve” such.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of London based Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi has alleged that the leaders of the apex Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, are behind the attack that left eleven (11) people dead and eighteen (18) injured in St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Anambra state, southeast Nigeria on Sunday, August 6.

The IPOB leader made this allegations while addressing IPOB members at his father’s palace in Afara Ukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, Southeast Nigeria on Sunday.

Kanu quashed reports in the media that claimed the shooting was a product of on-going feud between two overseas-based drug barons of Igbo origin, adding that Ohanaeze leadership allegedly accepted financial inducement from anti-Biafra individuals and organization to divide the opinions of South-easterners through various media statements so that terror could be unleashed on the people already divided in thoughts.

The radio Biafra director said: “They have killed our people in Onitsha. They have been to the church to massacre our people in Ozubulu.

“When we ask you not to vote, people don’t understand. Those you are voting for cannot protect you. I warned you four years ago that a time will come when they would come into your house, your villages to massacre you and nobody will protect you. It has happened. Hasn’t it?

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike on Sunday night, August 6, dismissed all his Special Advisers except one.

According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, the Rivers state governor retained the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Bishop Winston Iwo.

Niger Delta leader and convener of Pan-Niger Delta Forum, Edwin Clark has called for the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of London based radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over his comments on the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra.

ALEDEH recalls that Mr. Kanu had warned that Biafrans and eligible voters in Anambra State would boycott the state gubernatorial election scheduled for November 18 if the Federal Government fails to hold referendum for the ‘Republic of Biafra’ before the election.

The IPOB leader made this statement at his father’s palace in Afara Ukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, Southeast Nigeria on Wednesday, June 21.

Speaking further, Mr. Kanu stressed that people of Southeast and others under the Old Eastern Region would not participate in the 2019 general election if the government ignores the demand for referendum.

Addressing IPOB members Kanu said: “Nigerian government should build as many prisons as possible to jail all Biafrans because there is no going back and we are ready to go there (prisons) unless the federal government gives us Biafra.

“We are starting with Anambra come November this year. There will be no governorship election in Anambra State. In 2019, the whole of Biafra land will not vote for any President. There will be no Senator, there will be no House of Reps, there will be no House of Assembly and there will be no councillorship elections in Biafra land if they (federal government) fail to call for a referendum”, Kanu said.

Reacting to the call, in an interview with Vanguard newspaper, Clark said the IPOB leader should be locked away for declaring that an election would not take place in Anambra state in November.

Mixed reactions has continued to trail the just concluded men’s 100m final of the 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in London, United Kingdom.

Recall that United States Justin Gatlin defeated reigning Olympic champion, Usain Bolt to win men’s 100m final earlier today, August 5.

Gatlin had the fastest time at the final of the 2017 London IAAF World Championships, running the event in 9.92 seconds followed by Christian Coleman’s 9.94 seconds while Usain Bolt finished the race of 9.95 seconds.

Barring any last minute change, ailing Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari might be back in his country next week.

This was disclosed by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa East at the Nigerian Senate.

Murray-Bruce popularly referred to as the 'Common Sense Senator', revealed that there will be a high-powered meeting between the Nigerian Senate and President Buhari when he returns.

According to the Bayelsa state senator, the meeting was sacrosanct because of the continued hardship in Nigeria and how the country was lagging behind in its development.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, says President Muhammadu Buhari was brought in to rule Nigeria at the point the West African country was about to collapse.

Oyegun made this comment at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital when he received political leaders from Delta Central Senatorial district, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.

The APC National Chairman who noted that Nigeria just consumed during last sixteen years of previous administrations, added that the Buhari administration was building a new economic model which will be sustainable, production-based and will diversify from oil to agriculture, solid minerals and other viable sectors.

Oyegun, noted that the need to diversify the Nigerian economy has become increasingly imperative due to the decrease in the demand for oil globally which is Nigeria’s economic mainstay.

Foundation for homeless women and children, Elfreeda Foundation is set for its official opening in Nigeria, West Africa.

The official opening of the foundation which is scheduled on August 11, 2017 will take place in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

According to a statement issued bythe Director ICT, Media and Publicity, Elfreeda Foundation, Idorenyin Usoro and sent to ALEDEH, the vision of the foundation is ” to create a safe haven where homeless women and children in our society find stability and help rebuild their lives”.

The statement noted that Elfreeda Foundation intend to provide a 100 bed temporary facility where homeless women and children are welcomed to and cared for.

Usoro said the homeless women and children can stay for the night or for a maximum of 30 days, where they will be provided with a bed and a meal a day, noting that the shelter is open daily from the hours of 6:00pm and closes at 9:00am.

Football fans are currently setting micro blogging site, Twitter on fire over Neymar's proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Recall that Spanish giant, FC Barcelona confirmed that the Brazilian forward, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, will miss training today, Wednesday, August 2, because the Brazilian intends to leave the club as a move to Paris Saint-Germain draws closer.

On Tuesday, August 1, Neymar flew back to Catalonia after a promotional trip to China and was expected in training despite his transfer rumour to PSG.

Neymar was photographed driving into Barca training but the club later announced on micro blogging site, Twitter that: "Neymar Jr hasn't trained on Wednesday with the permission of the coach."

A statement on the club official website also confirmed Neymar's wish to leave: “FC Barcelona returned to training this Wednesday morning after the American tour, the first part of a double session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
“Before the morning session began, Neymar Jr. informed those present of his wish to leave the Club and was therefore given permission to miss training and resolve his future.

Fani-Kayode’s statement is coming at the time the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of London based radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is agitating for the Republic of Biafra.

Like Kanu, Fani-Kayode has also thrown his weight behind the emergence of Oduduwa Republic, which he said would come after Biafra independence.

Niger Delta militant group known as the Niger Delta Revolutionary Crusaders, NDRC, one of the militant groups that asked the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, led by Chief Edwin Clark, to stop all engagements with the Federal Government, says it will commence fresh attacks on oil facilities in the region on September 31, 2017.

The group noted that the Federal Government has not been sincere with its agreements despite the ‘consolatory statement’ of the government made by the acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

“Our grievance with government is that after the consolatory statement of the government by Prof. Osinbajo, nothing is on ground to show sincerity by government”, the group noted.

After pulling massive crowd in Owerri, the Imo state capital, Southeast Nigeria, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of London based radio Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is set to storm Lagos state, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Recall that the visit of the IPOB leader to the Imo state capital on Friday, July 28, shut down all commercial activities as well as vehicular movement in Owerri.

Kanu who has been on familiarization tour of the Southeast and South-south since he regained freedom after spending eighteen (18) months in detention, promised that there will be no election in Imo state come 2019 if a referendum is not conducted for the Republic of Biafra.

The Publisher of Ovation magazine, Dr. Dele Momodu has described being Nigeria's President as a " monumental privilege".

Momodu who said this in his latest article, ‘Now that the governors are back’, stressed that it would require some “spiritual intervention” for President Muhammadu Buhari to walk away from the exalted position.

The Ovation magazine publisher also urged those calling on President Buhari to resign to stop wasting their time.

Momodu wrote: “Would Buhari bow out due to pressure? I doubt it. We all say things when they’ve not concerned or affected us personally and directly. Truth is we do not have a culture of resignation in Nigeria.

Nigeria's Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has ordered the chief of army staff LT. General Tukur Buratai and chief of air staff, Sadique Abubakar, to relocate to Maiduguri, Borno state, northeast Nigeria.

The order which is with immediate effect, came after an emergency meeting with some service chiefs on Thursday, July 27.

Osinbajo noted that there was need for the security chiefs to be at the military command control centre in the hotbed of insurgency.

The directive by the Acting President is coming few days after the Boko-Haram insurgents killed soldiers, members of the civilian joint task force and oil experts in Magmueri local government area of Borno.

Before the attack which occurred July 25, Buratai had given the Army a 40 day ultimatum to capture the leader of the sect Abubakar Shekau dead or alive.

Unfortunately, since the order was given by the Army chief, attacks by the terrorists group has increased rapidly.

Briefing state house correspondents at the end of the meeting, minister of defence,Mansur Dan-Ali said: “We just finished a meeting with the acting president and the three service chiefs. We agreed that they should move back to the command centre again and see what are the things happening there.

Former Minister of Finance under Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been named an independent non-executive Director at Standard Chartered PLC.

A statement issued by the Standard Chartered PLC on Thursday, July 27, says Okonjo-Iweala’s appointment is effective from November 1, 2017.

The former minister will earn £130,000 (N53,547,737.75) per year, for her expertise in financial and development financing.
