Politics / Akpabio To Decamp To APC With 12 Akwa Ibom Assembly Members, Others by PurityPhils(m): 2:35am On Aug 06, 2018 |
Barring any last minute change, Godswill Obot Akpabio, Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West District at the Nigerian Senate and Senate Minority Leader, will defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party. Nigeria’s integrated online media platform, ALEDEH recalls that Akpabio’s purported defection gathered momentum on Sunday, August 5 when a picture of him with Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari in London, the United Kingdom surfaced online. Moments after the picture went viral, Nigerians took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to react, with some questioning why the former Akwa Ibom governor, who is a strong member of the PDP will quit the opposition party at the time the PDP is currently receiving high-profile politicians from the APC. Though many had thought Akpabio will be the only person to decamp to the ruling party in Akwa Ibom State for the main time, an exclusive report by Political Stew, however, suggests otherwise. According to Political Stew, the Senate Minority Leader, will not only decamp to the APC but will be joined by three (3) members of the House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State as well as twelve (12) members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Political Stew, an all politics website also reports that Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom held a caucus meeting of the PDP in the state over the said issue. Career / EXCLUSIVE: “police Officers Pay N2 Million For Promotion”, Buhari, Osinbajo’s Or by PurityPhils(m): 3:50pm On Jun 18, 2018 |
Nigeria’s integrated online media platform, ALEDEH has uncovered massive irregularities, corruption and illegalities in the promotion of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force which was conducted by the Mike Okiro-led board of the Police Service Commission. The Mike Mbama Okiro-led Police Service Commission board was dogged with “internal corruption”, ALEDEH can report. ALEDEH recalls that Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, appointed Mr Musiliu Smith as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) in May 2018 to succeed Mike Okiro, a former Inspector-General of Police as the PSC Chairman. The Mike Okiro PSC Board whose tenure came to an end on Monday, June 11, 2018, reeled out what was termed a “farewell promotion list” which was covered with many infractions. This list came at the Commission’s 28 Plenary Meeting which ended in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Friday, June 8, 2018. Though Musiliu Smith is now the new chairman of the PSC, findings by ALEDEH, however, reveals he knew nothing about the promotion list, neither did he influence the recent promotion of the senior police officers. ALEDEH understands that for any promotion to take place you must consider three (3) things which include annual assessment; some organizations call it, evaluation report. Like in the NPF, to move to the rank of a CSP you must not have grading below B for three (3) consecutive years. That’s the norm. In its promotion, you must not skip anyone and promote someone ahead of his mate. According to the guiding principles of the Nigeria Police, if an officer is given special promotion, it’s done when the officer must have done something exceptional but the reverse was the case under Mike Okiro as ALEDEH has uncovered “corruption unlimited” and “massive illegalities” at the Commission under his watch. Investigations carried out by ALEDEH, reveals that a lot of illegalities went down at the Police Service Commission especially in terms of promotion, this ALEDEH gathered has led to the low morale of most of the officers of the force. Politics / EXCLUSIVE: Police Promotion: Again, Okiro-led PSC Reels Out Illegal List As Cops by PurityPhils(m): 4:56pm On Jun 14, 2018 |
The promotion of 3,665 senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force by the Police Service Commission is full of illegalities, Nigeria’s burgeoning online integrated media platform, ALEDEH can authoritatively report. This online medium recalls that the Mike Okiro’s led PSC approved the promotion of 3,665 senior Police officers in a statement published on its official website on Wednesday, June 13. The promotion was one of the high points of the Commission’s 28 Plenary Meeting which ended in Abuja on Friday, June 8th, 2018. The Plenary Meeting was the last official function of the Mike Mbama Okiro PSC Board whose tenure came to an end on Monday, June 11th, 2018. A fact check by ALEDEH, however, reveals that PSC did not mention some of the controversial names of those promoted on the Commission’s website and this act has helped in way, cover up its illegal actions. ALEDEH gathered that out of the over 3600 promoted officers not more than 1000 are on merit. Over 600 officers were promoted from SP to CSP and about 300 from DSP to SP. Similarly, unconfirmed inspectors and ASPs were promoted to ASPs and DSPs respectively. The list released by the PSC also shows that 32 CSP on merit list were promoted to ACP, however, no merit list from ACP to DCP, but 2 merits on the list of 17 DCS to CP. ALEDEH can report that there’s also a conspiracy of silence in this promotion process. This online medium gathered that the ADC to Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was an ASP when the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration came on board, but with this last promotion, he is a confirmed CSP. That is, he has always been given promotion every year. In a similar vein, the Chief Personal Security officer to President Buhari was a CSP in 2015 but he is today an acting Commissioner of Police, findings by ALEDEH revealed. The silence is deafening as some officers this reporter spoke to say, this illegality seems to have been sealed by adding as beneficiaries these two key officers attached to the presidency. Autos / EXCLUSIVE: Chinese Diana Chen Edges Out Nigerians From GAC Cars Importation, Acc by PurityPhils(m): 6:32pm On Mar 18, 2018 |
Diana Chen, the chairperson of CIG Motors Limited and a dealer in GAC brand of automobile, is exploiting lapses in Nigeria’s business environment to perpetrate gross atrocities against Nigerians, ALEDEH has gathered. CIG Motors Limited whose 90 percent shares are owned by Chen, signed a pact with Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor Co Ltd (“GAC Motor”), to establish and manage distribution network in Nigeria, West Africa, a situation which was believed to be of great benefit to Nigerians, but suddenly snowballed into a “Chinese affair”, sources tell ALEDEH. Chen, a Chinese national, ALEDEH gathered has edged out several Nigerian automobile dealers from importing cars from China especially GAC brand of automobile. “She is trying to monopolize GAC brand of automobile”, a source who is familiar with her dealings told ALEDEH, “she has blocked Nigerian dealers from importing the vehicles to make it cheaper for us”, the source added. Recently, GS8, a product of GAC Motor was awarded the exclusive honour of “2018 Top Safety Car” among 7-seater SUVs from C-NCAP, the highest national recognition for automotive safety. Speaking on the development, a source familiar with Chen’s administration in Nigeria, told ALEDEH that despite the high demand for GS8 and other GAC products in Nigeria, the Chinese automobile distributor might lead the brand into extinction in the oil-rich West African country if her excesses are not checked by GAC Motor. “Although GS8 manufactured by GAC Motor is a good car with high demand in Nigeria, the company is not well represented in Nigeria by Diana Chen”, the source told ALEDEH, lamenting that “she will lead the brand into extinction in the Nigerian automobile market if nothing is done by the management of GAC Motor”, the source added. Sources tell ALEDEH that Mrs Chen imports GAC brand of automobile into Nigeria, sells and sends the money back to China, rather than investing it here in Nigeria, thereby stopping Nigeria and Nigerians from benefitting from the Chinese automobile company presence in the country. Chen’s activities are against the trade agreement between Nigeria and China, ALEDEH can report. “Chen could be into money laundering, she repatriates money to China after making sales here in Nigeria – Nigeria is not benefitting from her so why is the Nigerian government not saying anything about this?” a furious source who is in the know about Chen’s activities told ALEDEH. ALEDEH gathered that representatives of GAC Motor came to Nigeria late last year to meet with some Nigerian dealers with the aim of granting them ‘dealership’ but upon getting to China; Chen got hold of the information and thereafter blocked the deal in China. Religion / EXCLUSIVE: Apostle Suleman Speaks To ALEDEH On State Of The Nation: Herdsmen Att by PurityPhils(m): 1:26pm On Mar 17, 2018 |
Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, OFM, has expressed sadness over the incessant killings carried out in several parts of Nigeria, West Africa, by suspected herdsmen. In an exclusive interview with Nigeria’s online integrated media platform, ALEDEH, the Apostle stressed that the “body language” of the Nigerian government is empowering the suspected killer herdsmen. Apostle Suleman also lent out his voice to address the proposed “Hate Speech Bill” which proposes that any person found guilty of any form of hate speech that results in the death of another person shall die by hanging upon conviction. Among other national issues, the OFM Senior Pastor also spoke on religious intolerance, insecurity in Nigeria, “seeds sowing” and finally reacted to Stephanie Otobo’s confession on the alleged sex scandal which became a topic of national discuss late last year. Read the excerpt from the interview below:. YOU ARE A BUSY MAN BECAUSE WE REALIZE THAT YOUR SCHEDULE IS SO TIGHT. IT’S BEEN DIFFICULT FOR US TO HAVE THIS CONVERSATION. HOW BUSY HAVE YOU BEEN LATELY? I have always been busy. We have a ministry that has a presence in 56 nations in the world and we have a strong presence in Africa and some parts of Asia; actually five continents so that informs my travelling to see what is happening there and aside that I do also have some private investments around the world that I am also overseeing. QUITE FRANKLY, OMEGA FIRE MINISTRIES HAS GROWN TREMENDOUSLY, TELL US ABOUT THIS GROWTH I think I am going to speak personally because whatever I say in my philosophy, might not be an appendage for general growth. I am going to say what I see as my strength. First thing I know is that God has helped us. When God backs a man, results are natural and above all; structure. We have a ministry that is well structured. When people come to an organization that is well structured they naturally fit into place. So we have a good structure and above all God has given us the gift of men; the right people who know the right thing to do. So it has been a teamwork. The strength of Omega Fire Ministries is God giving us a crop of pastors who have the passion to run the segment so I cannot say or ascribe the growth or the results that we see to me, my calling or my anointing. It’s a teamwork and God has been faithful. HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOU READ IN THE MEDIA THAT APOSTLE SULEMAN IS STUBBORN, CONTROVERSIAL AND MAYBE CRITICAL ABOUT ISSUES? I think it’s a combination of a lot of issues. I don’t think I am controversial, I think I am non-conventional. People are used to you trying to twist the truth. They see that as diplomacy and if you have something to present you have to be diplomatic about it, but if you understand, we all have our peculiarities. There are so many things that engineer the way I speak. Number one I have an activist background and I was very involved in student unionism. No matter what you delve into, there are certain particles of your involvement in the past that will show up. I am a prophet. Prophets do not twist words and when they speak, they don’t speak because they want to stem out controversies or issues, they bring it the way it is. Sometimes a prophet feels very guilty when he tries to be nice because he will report to God. When God gives you a word you say it as it is. But the country or Africa has not grown to that state mentally to accept the truth. When you say something and they just accept it and say ok this man is actually saying the truth. But in the midst of all these statements, I hear people say he is stubborn, controversial but there are still people who appreciate it because sometimes if we must get things done we have to address it. When we keep going around it we will never get results. So we have to see things the way they are and some of the things I have said that blew out publicly many people were not even aware that these things have the capacity to crumble a system but sometimes when you hit certain things on the head you get the attention of the people. When you get the attention of the people you can start talking about these things so it’s not a deliberate thing. I cannot determine how you perceive me but I can explain who I am. I run from issues that will create problems. When an issue is going to create problems I tell my pastors let’s kill this thing but I can also say there are people who listen to me but I am not controversial I am only non-conventional. NIGERIANS WOKE UP AND SUDDENLY SOMEONE WHO WAS TRENDING STOPPED TRENDING. I AM TALKING ABOUT STEPHANIE OTOBO. SHE STOPPED TRENDING AFTER THE CONFESSION SHE MADE IN YOUR CHURCH. YOUR TEAM OF PASTORS AND SOME OF THE ELDERS ARE YET TO SPEAK ON THE MATTER. EVERYTHING DIED DOWN AFTER THAT CONFESSION AND SOME ARE WONDERING IF SOMETHING WENT UNDER? I am going to answer this because I gave you my words that I am going to answer every question though normally I won’t talk about it because there was no story in the first place. All these shenanigans that snowballed into what they called scandal. I don’t have a scandal. I can’t have a scandal. Anybody could come up with any allegation that is the backlash you get when you speak truth to power. As far as I am concerned that’s a monumental lie because nothing like that ever happened. If we are going to talk about it we will be here for the whole day. I woke up like every other person woke up to see the news. Some Nigerians never asked the question, how come they didn’t go to court because I went to court. They didn’t go to court because they had nothing to show. It was just a media trial to dent my reputation and when they discovered that wasn’t working they began to bring up so many to make the people feel if he is not innocent here, he is innocent here, so it was all drama. I really don’t bother myself about what people say because public opinion is not credit alert. There is no one that gets paid by what people say. Let me shock you, 90 percent of things that they say about me I have never read them. I don’t pick up my phone looking for what is not looking for me. The church didn’t even speak. It took a long while to allow the confession. I told them It’s already dead since they haď no case but they said if someone wants peace why don’t you allow her to make peace? I told my wife this is what they are saying what do you think and she said we should allow it. There was no story, nothing like that ever happened, it was just a calculated attempt to malign me, to put me in the spot where if I speak people will say this is an unserious person. He is not who he says he is but I have not started talking so they are going to do much more drama. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS NOT ABOUT FAMILY I HAVE BEEN WONDERING IF THIS TRULY WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS COOKED UP PERHAPS IT MUST HAVE CAUSED A LOT WITHIN YOUR FAMILY ESPECIALLY YOUR WIFE. HOW DID SHE COPE DURING THAT BROUHAHA TILL THAT CONFESSION HAPPENED RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER? Globacom, Nigeria’s second-largest telecommunications network, may not be able to acquire 9Mobile as widely reported in the media, Nigeria’s burgeoning online integrated media platform, ALEDEH can authoritatively report. 9Mobile, formerly known as Etisalat Nigeria was taken over in July 2017 following N541 billion debt overhang. Mubadala Group, the major investor from the United Arab Emirates, pulled out of Emerging Markets Telecommunications Service (EMTS), the fourth largest telecommunications service operator in Nigeria as a result of the debt owed to a consortium of thirteen (13) banks. The United Arab Emirates investor insisted that the brand name is dropped, leading to the birth of 9mobile July 13, 2017. However, months after the rebranding process of the nation’s second-largest mobile network, the telco is now up for sale, with five bidders making the final list of potential buyers. The shortlist includes Teleology Holdings Limited, promoted by Adrian Wood, the pioneering CEO of MTN Nigeria; Smile Telecoms Holdings, a telco operating in Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Congo DR and South Africa; and Helios Investment Partners LLP, an investment company. Others are Bharti Airtel, an Indian telco that owns Airtel Nigeria, and Globacom, the Nigerian company owned by Mike Adenuga Jnr. Globacom issued a statement January 12, 2018, saying it has not acquired 9mobile. The telco said it is bound by the terms of the acquisition process and it will not deviate from the rules. Though the company has shown interest in acquiring 9Mobile, ALEDEH can report that Nigeria’s second-largest telecommunications network is far from becoming the latest owner of 9Mobile. ALEDEH gathered that the telco has some outstanding fees with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Globacom has not paid renewal of its spectrum license which is a total of $282 million for another ten (10) years.
