RomanceRe: "Marriages Fail Because Men Seek Contentment While Women Pursue Happiness" by purityval(m): 4:57am On Apr 26, 2018
MissJoy29:
The posters above me have said it all. I don't think men are more content than women. On the other hand, a lot of them are greedy. They want to eat their cake and have it. That's why you see a man marrying a good but not-so-fine woman & then cheating with glamorous women outside. They can't wife the glamorous women for obvious reasons, they can't divorce their wife and spare her from emotional torture, they can't stick to only their wives & worst of all, they can't stand their wives cheating on them.
Their confusion amazes me.

A woman? She loses a lot for the sake of a man: her name, her body, her shape, her freedom, her right, her opinion etc. And yet she's willing to stick to the man no matter what. Most times, a woman who isn't happy with a man or even content won't go through all these for him.

But men? They don't have much to lose yet they get bored the most. The moment the woman gets pregnant, they start exploring their philandering ways. By the time she gives birth, and her body shape changes, a lot lose interest totally.

Tell me, with all these, who's really more content and happy?
Joycy I always respect your views because you have never been a victim of unhealthy generalization, but, what did you just do?

Reverse being the case, majority of men in marriage seek happiness while majority of women seek contentment. To buttress my point taking relationships as a case study.

A guy will stay/be contented with a girl that loves and gives him peace of mind. Someone who believes in him and always provides him emotional comfort to pursue his ambition. Now, he is not worried about the buoyancy of the lady or whatever material contentment he stands to gain but just that happiness to will spur him to be a better man.

Now to a lady, whatever it is you have with a lady be mindful because all they seek for is contentment not with you as a man but with you stand to give. If all you stand to give a lady is 'laughs' Which translates to happiness, believe me it's only a moment and they will ask is that all you have to give?

Have taken time to wonder why some women leave a faithful but not buoyant man to stick to rich but cheating and abusive husbands/boyfriends? That is because they need that financial and material contentment/Security. Once you can assure a good number number of women of financial security trample on them, marry ten wives they will still stay down with you. Its not about commitment its about their contentions with what you stand to offer.

A good percentage of men, the only thing they ask for is happiness and a conducive home to come back to after the days hustle. But, with women Your ability to provide for them what they can't give themselves is all they ask for not happiness or sincerity.

Men give a lot and at the end still loses a lot. They hustle all the days of their life to provide for their family the wealth he himself hardly enjoys because he is always looking for ways to make more and keep the family afloat so that he can come back to a happy home. At the very end the hustles weighs down on him, cuts his life short and.....

Summarily I think women seek contentment while men seek happiness. And, we can stop these men are scum movement.... Women are worst off. Whatever 'scum' a man is today, a 'scummier' woman turned him to that.

Let's not bother about who expects the most. It will bring up another round of discussion. I expect to be bought a gift by my partner on my birthday. Otherwise it will cause problems. Same way my partner should expect a gift from me. It's that simple

Cc Purityval

Joycy...how are you honey?

In relationships expectations are abound from both parties involved. Weighing who expects more or less is no point of argument because individually their needs differs. While one expects more financial support the other might be demanding more sexual or emotional, not perculier to any gender.

Personal the only thing I expect in relationship/Friendship these days is that you call back when you see my missed call. Gifts or no gift is not a thing of concern to me. That I give doesn't mean you should give back and vice versa.

To the subject of discussion, some girls demand like hell and so some guys. It's not onesided.

RomanceRe: Violence: Don’t Raise A Daughter Who Hit First Vs Don't Raise A Son Who Hit Back by purityval(m): 8:12am On Apr 19, 2018
When the time comes, I will teach my daughter to be humble but firm, have her own opinion but be open minded to the views of others. Never to insult/assult a man physically or emotionally but to stand up to her right not as a woman but as a human. To uphold her pride as a woman.

I will teach my son to be humble and yet firm. To know that as a man he has responsibilities but shouldn't be subjected under pressure and let anybody broke shame him. He will learn that his first responsibility in this world is to take care of himself and family. He should respect women but don't let them emotionally blackmail him. He shouldn't raise his hands on his sisters, girlfriend or wife but walk away when their demon comes.

RomanceRe: The Hypocrisy Of Nairaland Feminists And The Intentions Of A True Feminist by purityval(m): 3:17pm On Apr 09, 2018
MissJoy29:
These are my opinions about feminism;
*Strive for fairness especially in the way women are treated in marriage. For instance, it's not set in stone that a woman should be the only one doing house chores. A man can help out too without his manliness reduced. On the other hand, a woman shouldn't take his helping for granted.

*Be independent to an extent as a lady. In the sense that you can have your own money and pay up your bills without having to depend on a man. Depending on a man has levels. It gets really irritating seeing mature ladies begging for everything from a guy. A man that wants to help can help but don't beg.

*There's nothing wrong in helping out a man financially. There's nothing wrong in buying gifts for a man. There's nothing wrong in pampering a man & surprising him once in a while. But use your head. "Using your head" could mean a lot of things & could also prevent a lot of things.

*Be strong and firm yet feminine. That's a woman's strongest weapon, her feminity. Be sweet and gentle and cute. cool
Stop with the bitching & the bad attitude. That you can foot your bills doesn't mean you give oit that air that you don't need a man. Your independence should attract men to you not repel them.

*Finally, never look down on any man. Never broke-shame a guy because you think he's not up to a level you want. You see, no one knows tomorrow.

These being said, I am a feminist. The real one not the ones moved by hungry, frustrated leeches.
When someone with well packaged sense talks you know. Your wisdom is follow come jare.

Some mannerless hungry Pests are online broke shaming genuine hustling guys while their brothers of 30-40years are still dragging fish head with them at home.

RomanceRe: "I Don't Go Through My Girl's Phone, It's Called Maturity And Trust" by purityval(m): 10:32pm On Apr 02, 2018
MissJoy29:
Yeah, I'm not against what was tweeted too. I don't mind my phone being checked. It doesn't bother me cos I know you won't find anything in it. Transparency and openness are one of my areas of strength in relationship. Even my students have access to my phone like no man's business. How much more my love interest? But I will be overshady if I find out you are shady about your phone while you want to be checking mine. It doesn't work like that. I'm weary of people who make rules in relationship they can't keep.

I'm also a one-man lady. I'm not at all bothered by some details that normally bother people who are termed possesive. In fact, I could be with you for 2 years and more without checking your phone. Have done it before. I'm pro privacy but I'm open too. Except I'm suspecting you, I respect privacy a lot.
Yes, I agree that some good people have had ugly experiences in the past & therefore, gets sceptical when in a new relationship & want to prevent a reoccurrence, but trust me when I say that majority are abnormally concerned about monitoring their partners movement and calls and all cos they know what they do behind their partner's back & so want to prevent it being done to them. That's what makes me go crazy and all stubborn on some guys. I know the good ones who do it out of ugly experiences they have gone through. And I know the ones who monitor me cos they are probably doing worse. If you are in the latter category, the words you will use to describe me will be "difficult and stubborn". Cos I will make sure you don't succeed in your deceptive and insincere quest.

I became HIGHLY sceptical of "lifestyle monitors" after a particular relationship I had in the past. All because of constant monitoring. You wanna know why? Cos most times, they end up doing the worst! The experience I had was even worse than a roller coaster ride. Oh and my scepticism will always pan out as being truth. Also, after the said relationship, I discovered that no matter what you do, a man/woman who wants to stay will stay.

In all, I have not given up on love or despite the bad experiences. After all, some of these bad experiences, if not most or even all, make us better persons. I do tell people this, "if I love the wrong person right, why won't I love the right person even better?. Besides, it will even make me appreciate the right person more.
So, Purest @Purityval, don't lose hope yet. There are still good people around.
Joycy.....

MissJoy29:
God will Bless you my brother. Anyone who is obsessed with checking my phone and asking questions like a detective is already suspect number one. How do you know I'm trying to hide something in my phone if you are not hiding one or have hidden something there yourself?

Transperancy is key FOR BOTH PARTIES. And it's not just about giving you access to my phone. Besides, why would I want to develop high blood pressure early? Cos that's what I see as the effect of two timing and cheating. But let's assume I don't love my life and HBP is bae, I will cheat smart. I don't need to list ways of cheating smart here. But all those people up being particular about phone haven't seen really smart cheats.

Btw,I haven't seen where it's written that only ladies' phone should be checked. Or do those guys above me want to bring African man mentality to this too? My partner and I should be free with our phones.

Cc: chocberry,
cassyrooy,
purityval.
It's funny the comments I have read up there. So we are now at the point where not checking a partners phone is termed maturity? Funny how others are trying to load it down on the female folks and the blame going around... What's that?

Not checking your partners phone is in no way a prove of maturity. Oh! Because you don't want to have a heart attack? So in your mind you know one Way or the other that something might be hidden (lack of trust)

Maturity is the ability to pick up your partners phone, go through it in and out and drop it back, not because you are suspicious but because you know that there is nothing hidden And he/she can do same to your gadget. If your partner can't pick your phone and reply a girl/guy chatting you up, ya'all need to evaluate that relationship.

Bottom line is RELATIONSHIPS are messed up. All we have now is people seeking to satisfy whatever momentary need they have and move on afterwards. Love is SCAM.... Relationship is SCAM.... Marriage is FRAUD.

OP you made some valid points up there but did you consider what you will be depriving these kids if you don't buy them these gadgets? What if I tell you that there are smart phones/Tablets the protects kids from all the listed "should nots" you mentioned above.

I recently stumbled on a smart tablet that blew me off my mind. Specially designed for kids/young adults. I thought it was the normal 'useless' tablets with bloated features but on close examination...... dude I couldn't believe what i saw..... I had to buy despite the cost.

features:

Customized browser: (Restricts them to only educational sites and automatically shuts them out of dangerous/malicious sites)

Preloaded british, nigerian and american educational curriculum........ I couldn't believe this one till i saw it.

Parental control that can be synced to your phone from where you can be able to control how they use the tablet, when to turn it on and off, monitor their reading time and what they read.

Over 20 videos teaching how to be safe online, how to detect fraudulent/phishing sites, how to avoid card frauds and etc.

Access to over 250 free amazon education books for children.

Abeg this is just a few of them.

There is no reason to deny a child access to a smart devices, just make sure that whatever smart device you are getting for them is one that will protect them and give you the parent or guardian the privilege to also monitor their activities.

1) I'm a perfectionist. And I don't like it.
2) I'm almost psychic. Very sensitive especially Spiritually. I'm also an excellent judge of character. Also, if you hurt me intentionally and it pains me lot, whatever I wish for you will come to pass. Again, I'm convinced I have super powers or super human abilities that I'm yet to discover or harness.
3) I can't eat beans alone. It has to be paired with garri, custard or pap or I'm not eating. I also take tea with almost every food & soup except draw soups.
4) I have excellent multi tasking abilities. I can be pooing and be making up/setting my hair at the same time. I can be making a call, chatting on whatsapp, sending a text message & replying mails all with my phone at the same time. I can cook 5 types of food at the same time. I'm super fast when it comes to cooking.
5)I have an unhealthy love for perfumes and fragrances.
6) I can stay indoors for one week straight without coming out of the house. On the other hand, I love the company of good friends.
7)Touching my hair makes me weak. Back in school then, I would dress up for lectures and sit down for my roommate to pack my hair. It's always a bad decision cos by the time she's done, I would have been feeling so weak that I will just lie down on the bed and sleep off. I missed a lot of lectures cos of it.
cool I can never leave the house without making the bed. No matter how late or in a hurry I am. And oh, I can sleep for Africa! I can sleep for 24 hours & it still won't be enough.
9) A lot of people have described me as deep. I hear things others don't. I see things. I smell things & I feel things others don't.
10)I have never double dated, never been to a club & have never watched BBN.
