CassieV: Hello everyone, I'm doing my youth service now and I'll finish next year April. I want to do a post graduate diploma in education in UK, I need suggestions for schools I could apply, accommodation, Visa process, work too while I school. I have a BSc in Statistics, will I be able to get a job that'll pay my fees? How do I go about it all? Please I need your advice... hey are you aware of the UK immigration rules i doubt it would also be tough for you to see a post graduate diploma course in the UK only canada offers that check the canadian thread. you would most likely be in a college or one of those mushroom schools if you get a 'post graduate diploma"" admission. most college students cant work anymore. |

Petitediva14: My dear, thank God for a safe trip. Don't ever listen to anyone and their negativity. Focus on the reason you are there and on God and all your dreams would come through when God says it is time. Enjoy yourself to the fullest. I wish you all the best....
What questions were you asked at the airports, both Nigerian and British? thanks no questions asked but evidence of if am a genuine student just show your CAS admisssion letter and then a receipt from the school showing your payment try not to bribe those customs stare at their name tags so they would know you are serious and dont carry much tag too. the british guys would question you as if youve committed a crime coming to their country the guys at aberdeen went as far as asking bout my parents occupation the company they work for and whether i would love to remain after studies. |

Kriptic: Forget o. I left in Naija and came into Aberdeen with indomie, garri, egusi, ogbono, knorr cubes, suya pepper, crayfish, bitterleaf, groundnut, iru and even native ogiri sef. I just couldn't be stopped mehn. I just gave the customs folks at naija the sweetest smile and told them I'm a student and the woman let me go like that (still can't believe my luck). Then my bags were not even checked in Aberdeen. I just picked up my bags from the baggage claim and left the airport like that.
So, if you can carry them (except for the palm oil, that might be pushing your luck too far), by all means go ahead. ohhh I need that luck too |

spikesC: She would be allowed all of those things except the palm oil, as long as she's withing her baggage limit.
Getting in palm oil might be extra headache for her if they decide to search her bag at Heathrow. lol my restaurant would be at Aberdeen would I be fined for brining in palmoil or what? It would be frozen tho. |

dustydee: I doubt they will allow you especially the palm oil. You can carry small quantity of some of those items as you can find all of them in the UK. The airport charges you may pay in Nigeria may not make it cheaper than buying here not minding the extra weight. Trust me you always want to travel light. is noodles readily available there..seems people have gotten past with palmoil. |

MrMarcus: Not at all.. Your flight bookings/schedule is your personal arrangement. However, you can do that via various reputable online flight booking site.
*Search out various flights for your preferred date and choose one most suitable for you in terms of pricing, number of stoppages and flight duration. wakanow.com can help or u Google other ones.
*Don't book with this agents as agent fee would apply.. *When you have chosen your preferred flight then go to the website of the choice flight and make your bookings. You can contact them via there phone numbers on the web or go visit there office.
*Every flight you book online from Nigeria to Aberdeen has a connecting point (No Direct Flight). e.g Emirates connects @Abu Dhabi most times, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic connects from London, KLM connects from Netherlands and Lufthansa connects from Germany.
My Idea** Since these flights are not direct flights after all while not take a direct flight to London. Then connect (yourself) from London to Aberdeen. Note: There are several flights to London from Nigeria.
*London to Aberdeen via British Airways is £80 (#25,000) Most flights e.g AirMaroc Nigeria to London ranges from #118,000-130,000
But booking directly for Aberdeen from Nigeria with BA British Airways and KLM is btw #340,000-500,000 naira.
**I really think that balance from the flight bookings would come handy specially with the annoying exchange rate.
Tho I would be going to Stamford bridge 'Fulham road' (London) with the lil change from flight bookings to watch a Chelsea Match before moving to Aberdeen.
#Besides no harm in having a feel of London! woow tnks a million. Uve helped a lot! |

MrMarcus: CONGRATULATIONS.
what course are you to study? Have you uploaded ur pics for student I.D? There will be pick up sessions from the Airport @Aberdeen on 5th Sept. filled out the arrival/pick up forms on the new student web page. Also you can book a flight to London first then book another flight from Heathrow to Aberdeen. You would be saving over 70k on the cheapest flight and over 100k from KLM and British Airways using such route.
Thanks.
See you in Aberdeen! this is quite helpful did you book directly with them. |
