The ongoing 63rd ICANN General Meeting, held in Barcelona Spain from 20 - 25 Oct 2018, has been well attended by world governments agencies, ICANN fellows, Registries, Registrars and the public. Nigeria isn't left out, as the Ministry of Communications, NITDA, NiRA & QServers Web Hosting were on ground at the event. Several meetings, discuss various parts of ICANN responsibilities making the event a discussion hub for Internet & domain name services industry players. MD/CEO QServers Network Limited (QServers Web Hosting), Mr. Seun Kehinde is at the event, making contributions at these meetings on how policies can be improved to make service delivery better for Nigerian providers and customers. QServers Web Hosting was present at the 2018 NiRA Bloggers Summit which was held at the NiRA conference hall. The summit kicked off with the chairman's opening speech - Rev Sunday Folayan giving a brief summary of the .ng community and it's usefulness at large. There were sponsoring exhibitors like QServers, Access Bank, eSream Network, Medallioncom who were also present to grace the event. Great minds also gave an insight on how they got starter in the field of blogging. The speakers includes - Chukwuemeka Fred Agbada Jnr of channels TV-tech trends, The Editor in Chief (Bayo Olupohunda) - NAIJ, Okemini Otum - Lead Strategist: Rabbington Media, amongst others.

The latest version of cPanel/WHM is shipped with the EasyApache 4.0. It allows you to install and run multiple versions of PHP side by side for various domain and sub-domains in your cpanel account. We at QServers Web Hosting understand that some of your applications/themes/plugins/modules would require a certain PHP versions for them to work correctly, hence we support multiple versions of PHP. By default your account will be assigned with native PHP version which is the main PHP version of the server which varies in our shared servers. To change the PHP version used for your account, follow these steps: 1. Login to cpanel. 2. Once you are logged in to cpanel, kindly scroll to "Software Section" or quickly search for "MultiPHP Manager" as in the image below. Image: Cpanelphp1.png 3. DNS an abbreviation for "Domain Name System", is an integral part of how the internet functions today. However, the way that DNS works is often quite mysterious for new administrators. DNS controls your domain name's website and email settings. When visitors go to your domain name, its DNS settings control which company's server it reaches out to provide you all required service(s). DNS entries could include records such as cnames, A record, mx records, txt, ptr and so on. What ever you have on the individual record field determines which server your domain request the listed service(s) from. It is worth noting that not all Web host avails their customers with a DNS manager tool. At QServers Web Hosting, we try to give our clients more control over their domains and other related services, and hence every user can access their DNS manager and create or modify DNS records to their choice entries. Note that you can enable DNS manager by default while placing order for a domain. If for any reason you missed selecting the option of DNS services, you can always reach out to our support team to assist you enable it. Steps to set up/edit your DNS management To update your DNS settings in QServers Web Hosting 1. Login to your QServers client area and locate on the menu bar 'Domains' and subsequently 'My Domains'. 2. Locate the domain name you wish to set up/edit its DNS. By the right hand side of the choice domain you should see a drop-down and once clicked on you should see 'Domain DNS Manager'. 3. QServers, in partnership with NIRA hosted the Computer Students of Auchi Polytechnic on 31st July, 2018. With the current increase and spread on the use of internet of recent, it seems as though the young computer scientists were also on the interest to gain more knowledge on how domain registration and web hosting services works. The National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS), Auchi chapter Edo State visited Qservers in collaboration with The Nigeria Internet Registration Association(NIRA) to gain knowledge on - Domain registration - Hosting services - Profit making by owning a site - Internet Web designs.... And much more Mr Abubakar and Mrs Kemi Adepoju from NIRA, gave us an in-depth explanation of domains names and their basic functions, while few of QServers staffs taught the students on - Cpanel Usage, - The various Affiliate programs, - Pros and Cons on being a Reseller, - A 3 page Web design, etc We had an interactive sections where student asked questions and answered some questions being asked as well as battling out in a presentation to get a 1year free domain registration along side a hosting plan.

77al: Hello Nairaland, It's always good to hear from our clients on social media, as it give us the opportunity to explain to them how their services are setup and managed. Firstly QServers is a brand of Quality, with a lot of service years in the hosting industry and would never compromise our Quality stance for anything. To your issue of the VPS, you have to note that all our VPS come with PHP7 as the default PHP version. Now PHP has dropped the MySQL extension and has only the MySQLi extension and PDO. http://php.net/manual/en/migration70.removed-exts-sapis.php So if you upload your files which still use the older MySQL extension, it wouldn't work with your database. The other older PHP versions would have to be enabled with their MySQL extensions to allow your script to work. We always try to remain constructive in our responses even in difficult circumstances that's why we've taken the time to respond to this post. Glad you got things sorted out. Thank you. You can click [url]qservers.net/?linux-hosting.html[/url] to view our hosting packages features & prices. 2. how many daily visitors can 5 or 10gb bandwidth hold? There really isn't a straight forward way to calculate this but i'll give a simple explanation not to confuse any one: If you calculate a page on your site to a size like 25 KB. Then estimate the number of page views per visitor. Let's say it is 10. So average bandwidth usage per visitor is 250 KB. If you have a 5 GB per month limit, you can accommodate 20,000 visitors per month. Also note that other page factors like images, flash & file downloads with traffic factors like search bots, ftp traffic, mail traffic all go through the same bandwidth so this will reduce the amount of real users/visitors also. We always tell clients to always monitor their bandwidth usage, in CPanel as this would give them a general average of the bandwidth usage of their site and enable them plan for growth. NIRA Visits QServers Web Hosting Over the week the Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NIRA) paid a courtesy visit to QServers Network Limited (QServers Web Hosting). It was an exiting visit as our MD, Seun Kehinde was present to welcome them. Things discussed included ways to improve the .ng brand and also any challenges QServers Web Hosting was experiencing as a NIRA registrar. We really appreciate the visit and the effort taken by the NIRA team and we encourage them to continue the good relationship registrar's have with the registry. Thank you.
