Morning guys, so I’m moving to another apartment and I have these neatly used items for sale. I’m selling the gas cos I bought another inbuilt gas. I’m selling the fridge because the width is bigger than the space I have in mind for my new place so it can’t fit. I’m selling the mini cabinet cos I have another I’ll throw in a free bathroom blind for whoever buys these items.

Fridge with freezer compartment - 100k
4 burner table gas cooker - 15k
Mini cabinet - 10k (SOLD)!

Free bathroom blind worth 5k

That’s right. Always remember to reset it after your mechanic has changed your fluid.

Now start driving it from today and change it at exactly 35% for your next oil change.

As a personal rule I don’t exceed the 20% mark on my oil life monitor. So since you’ve driven a bit since your last oil change then add the prior 15% that was showing in your dashboard to the 20% I usually do to make 35%.

So in essence I’m advising you to change it at 35% for your next oil change and then change it at 20% for every other oil change to keep your engine happy and smart.

Enjoy your ride.

Thank you very much boss .. noted

Are you sure your oil life monitor was reset after your last oil change?

If it was indeed reset then I hope you recorded the total amount of miles/kilometers you have driven for it to go from 100% to the current 15% today, how much did you drive?

Oh he did not reset it I think cos I just tried resetting it via a YouTube video now and it’s on 100% back . That’s it right?

Morning guys, I just scanned my car now and it brought up this code. P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1

Does that mean I need to change catalyst? It was confirmed that catalyst was in the vehicle but I’m now confused

Morning bosses, I’m new to this thread and also a first time car owner. I recently bought my Honda Accord 2013 last week and it has been really smooth I must say. Although I had some minor problems CEL was and I replaced the CEL switch and serviced it. Car is really smooth, however the dealer told me to change my break pads.

So to cut the long story short where can I get an original break pad for my car and how much is it. I’ll also need a reputable mechanic in lagos too as i am having trust issues with some. Also what scanner do you recommend I get and how can I get it too. Thank you

Owning a BMW can be likened to having a loyal but demanding girlfriend.

Demanding in the sense that you get punished for skipping routine servicing, and the small things that Japanese car owners will get away with. For example, using the wrong coolant can mess up your mileage and even affect the engine in the long run.

However, you get to enjoy a totally different driving experience, prestige (it's way more respected than the other German brands)

There are not a lot of mechanics who understand the idiosyncrasies of the modern Bavarian machine. But I can point you to a few when you get one.

Depending on the year you're looking to buy, the 528i comes with a robust, peppy engine - fuel efficient, yet powerful on demand. However, I'd advice you go for the LCI models. They're more reliable.

I really appreciate this, I’ll read on the LCI models but I also learnt that it’s better to buy recent models rather than a car of 10 years.

Good evening house, I see the thread seem really quiet but I’d to ask gurus in the house general review of what it means to own a BMW aside from the fact that it’s a German machine and luxurious. But I want to know about the maintenance, mechanic etc.

Finally I’m considering a BMW 528i what’s your take on it.

I’ll appreciate everyone’s response
Car Talk / Re: Car Talk Chat Room by quam9997(m): 11:07am On Apr 17, 2022
Morning house, what do the experts in the house think of a 2012 BMW 528i in terms of cost, maintenance, mechanic, spare part and all other thing about a car.

I’ll appreciate unbiased response

PM for the contact.
On the Civic, in principle, I generally tend to avoid the year a new model is launched. There's usually some new tech with its attendant issues, recalls etc., which the manufacturer finally gets right in later years. The 2016 Civic is the launch year for the 10th generation. See link below. Has more problems compared to the other years of the 10th gen. Doesn't mean one can't buy it, just so you know what you could face. https://m.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Civic/

This is quite enlightening. Thank you my Oga

There are some agents that help retrieve the custom duty for cars. Pulls directly from the Customs database.

Oh okay .. so those agents can help you confirm it. Which means one need to have access to someone like that. Please do you know any cos I’m about to inspect a 2016 Honda Civic possibly this weekend and btw seems you know a lot about Honda cars please what do you think of the 2016 model of the Honda Civic. I’ll await your reply sir

Much thanks

I had a routine.
1. Inspect for frame damage and assess degree of prior accident. Virtually all cars were accidented. The only cars that were not, were flooded cars.
2. Inspect engine including AC lines. AC line welds were a turn-off
3. Scan all modules
4. Listen to tone of engine
5. Inspect custom duty
If the above checkout...
6. Drive the car
7. Collect the VIN for a CarGuideNG #coughs#... for a search.
If 7 is good
8. Verify custom paper

Sorry how do you know if a custom duty is authentic
