A popular news platform, HGS Media Plus has reacted to the Bishop's Cap Adamu Agarba allegedly photoshoped on his head

Adamu Garba had posted a photo
where the cap of a bishop was photoshoped on his head.

This sparked outrage from many twitter users including Muslims who attacked him for blasphemy against Christainity.

The news platform blast Adamu who claimed the photo was posted by someone else and not him.

However, the publication countered Adamu and stated that he would not have reposted the post from the source.

"@adamugarba you act like a person whose sense is far from , obviously. So if someone posted that of you, knowing fully well what it could mean, why repost it?. If reserve was the case, we all know how it will end up. I think it is time for @twitter to take you off this platform."

Reports has it that a 27 year old Ladi, currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Yola, Adamawa State, as a result of acid attack by her ex lover.

Life may no longer be the same for Ladi Ishaku, a final year student of the Federal College of Education(FCE) Yola, in Adamawa State, as a result of acid attack which severely damaged her body.
She was attacked with liquid substance suspected to be acid at their compound at about 2:30am on Tuesday.
As a result of the attack, the victim had her entire body completely disfigured or damaged.
The incident was said to have occurred at night when she was deeply asleep.

The victim who managed to speak on her hospital bed, accused her former boy friend identified as Kama Hammajoda for attacking her with the acid because she refused to marry him.
She narrated that she was together with her niece in the bed room on that fateful night, but because of heat, she decided to sleep outside unknown to her that somebody was targeting her life.

Also explained that at first she thought it was petrol that was poured on her, but soon as she started feeling some piercing pain, it down on her that it was acid that was eating her face, neck, shoulder, breast and body as it burned through her flesh, describing it as a horrific experience.

Ladi whose father is late, disclosed that similar incident happened at their family compound on 24th January, 2022 when unidentified person sneaked into their house at night and littered the floor, the door with petrol.

She said the suspect succeeded in putting the house on fire, but she managed to escaped through the window with her mother, Mrs. Margareth Ishaku who later died from the severity of the burnt she sustained during the fire incident.

Also, that after the ugly incident, another yet to be identified person came into the house again at night and poured pesticides in their drinking water in side containers.

Few days back, Borno State Governor ordered the demolition of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria (EYN).

According to report, the operatives of Borno Civilian task force attached to the Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS).

Allegedly killed a protester during the demolition exercise at the Church in Moduganari area of Maiduguri.

Although the governor had ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

However, that did not stopped the Church members from worshipping, as pictures of the local church members emerge online.

Some of them are pictured standing while others on the blocks receiving sermon.

It’s a touching story, but the people chose to show that indeed the Church has been demolished but the Body of Christ still stands.

1. Benin Republic

Benin Republic is a French-speaking West African nation, and a birthplace of the vodun (or “voodoo”) religion and home to the former Dahomey Kingdom from circa, capital of Porto-Novo.

Johaida Recto, who turned lucky on Sunday night was rushing to pick his sick mum from home to the hospital.

The heartbreaking incident occurred in the late hours of Sunday, 20th December 2020, at about 11:00 pm along Banganje opposite ECWA 1 Banganje Junction, Gombe State.

In his case, he came out without injury and stood shocked at what has happened. We don’t overcome such miracles daily.

This is a true life story of a University graduate who was attacked by numerous guys at night in Taraba State University on Sunday 3rd November 2019.

Her story could teach a lot of students who are yet to be a graduate lessons.

As she says she can’t forget the day, a day to remember.

“My name is Lilian this happened to me during my final year in Taraba State University, a 400 level, who studied Political Science/International relations

“It was my last year in school in the year 2019 November, i stay off campus and was preparing for my last exams.

“I was so serious to the extend of entering school only, because where i live had light issues and reading within the room with torchlight/lamp will just be a sleeping story so most of the time live for night reading in school around 7pm and returned when i feel I’ve accomplish my target for the night, sometimes around 11:00pm to 1:00am before I leave to my destination.

“We have been hearing stories of kidnappings, rape and robbery in ATC area which has made so many students to stay indoors without going for their usual night reading or outings to avoid been a victim.

“I am this kind of person that doesn’t get frighten by mere “them say” I only get scared when it happens, which gives me strength to fight and face it.

“I live along bypass Grace Junior. On that faithful day (Sunday 3/11/2019), I got set for my night reading around 7:00pm and was about leaving when my neighbors Abubakar and Paul stopped me saying. Lilly ain’t you scared of the night.

People are indoors and your going out don’t you know that you are a woman and those guys can attack you, what will you do if it happens?

“I smile and sald will tell you the story if it happens when am back.. Laughing out loud.

“But in the midst of my defensive response i felt like staying home but shake it off, then i left.

“I got to school around 7:30pm but started reading 8:00pm, i began to enjoy the reading and forgot to check out time or even consider going back earlier, before I could realise it, it was too late, everyone has left and i was alone, i checked the time it was 12:00am.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Chapter, on Monday 9th November 2020, dissociated itself from a local online news blog, TG News and its publisher.

The union expressed its displeasure over an unethical conduct of some online news platforms especially, the TG News considering its recent unbalanced publications.

According to the union, the actions of the TG NEWS is unethical and does not follow the code of conduct of the Nigeria Union of Journalists nor the laid down constitution of the profession.

The NUJ made its position known in a statement issued on Monday afternoon jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan and Fidelis Jockthan respectively.

Operation Lafiya Dole said a total of 78 persons, including 75 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters and three soldiers have been killed in an ongoing subsidiary operation in the northeast.

A press statement issued by Ag. Director of Defence Media Operations, Brig. Gen. Benard Onyeuko, on Tuesday, said Operation Fire Ball had made some tremendous successes against the outlawed groups.

The statement said: “Sequel to the commencement of Operation FIRE BALL, a subsidiary operation under Operation LAFIYA DOLE which is meant to clear the remnants of the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists from their identified enclaves in the North East region, the operation has recorded tremendous successes within the short period from its existence with the last week of the preceding month proving to be the deadliest against the criminals.

“The troops in the various sectors of the theatre have continued to carry out their tasks relentlessly.

“The successes so far achieved wouldn’t have been possible without the sacrifice, commitment and gallantry exhibited by the well motivated troops; some of whom have paid the supreme sacrifice.

In any political contest there must be winners and losers, also, political parties that lost elections have a significant role to play for the progress of their states but if the opposition parties lack vision definitely the winning party will enjoy their victory without obstacles.

In Adamawa state, the Apc as an opposition party has lost its role of opposition they’re just fumbling and looking for relevancy by hook or crook. The state Exco of the party are selfish and lack focus, most of their stakeholders are Self-centered while their followers are in a state of confusion and doesn’t have respect for our leaders who are enough to be their Fathers.

In playing a role of opposition, members of Apc are expected to engage the Adamawa state government in a matured way, criticise the lapses of the government constructively and draw their attention to correct them if the need arise, applaud and encourage government where it’s necessary in order to convince both the government and the electorates.

Moreover, Apc members have just centered on blackmailing, sabotaging and creating confusion here and there just to tarnish the good image of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in order to paint his government BLACK to the faces of the good people of Adamawa state who believed and have absolute confidence on the Governor’s leadership style.

Adamawa State Government extends the period of house-to-house search, to be 7am Thursday, while the indefinite curfew continues.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has signed an Executive Order authorizing a House-to-House search for items looted in Government owned and private storage facilities.

To be cited as order No. 2 of 2020 on the Recovery of Public Property looted in Adamawa State by Hoodlums and Thugs, the order comes into effect at 3:00pm Wednesday 28th October 2020.

As a result of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s harsh stance on vandals and hoodlums who looted items in public and private properties, some of the looters have started returning them to escape severe sanctions.

Reports indicated that a number of residents of Yola and Jimeta have started returning the stolen items to their wards heads while some dropped them on the roads for the authorities to pick.

Some of the items returned include fridges, tractor parts, water pumps, office furniture, medical equipment and bags of fertilizer.

The governor has during the broadcast gave the hoodlums a grace of 12 hours within which to bring the items to the nearest police station or traditional rulers from wards to district heads.

The governor threatened that he will sign an executive order to ensure the revocation of the C of O or outright demolition of any house that harbours stolen items.

It would be recalled that the state has witnessed a near breakdown of law and order on Sunday and Monday this week as hoodlums take the state under siege and went on a looting spree.

Properties vandalized or looted within the state capital include; Customs Office, Federal Road Safety Office, Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NEMA office, COVID-19 Isolation Centre at Kofare, Shamad Concept Nig. Ltd, North East Commodity Association (NECAS), Kofare.

Other public and private warehouses in Demsawo, Nyako Quarters, Bakin Kogi, Mayanka, Upper Benue, AADP, LEA, Yola South, Red Cross opposite FMC, Aliyu Mustafa College; Dr Belel’s workshop, private farms amongst others were also vandalized and looted.

TheEconomic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)has beseeched Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court in Lagos to dismiss the no-case submission filed by suspected internet fraudster, Ismail Mustapha, also known as Mompha, who is standing trial over an alleged N32.9 billion fraud.

In a state wide broadcast by his Excellency Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on his birthday, 27th October 2020, Conditions were given to the looters to return all looted properties.

Beginning from tomorrow there will be a house to house search from 7am and if anything is found there will be consequences to follow.

No fewer than five persons were killed when a truck lost control in Adamawa State on Saturday.

The tragedy reportedly occurred along Mayo-Belwa-Jada Road in the Southern axis of the state, according to eyewitnesses.

One eyewitness, Mallam Jingi, said, “I saw how it happened, it was due to reckless and speeding on the part of two truck drivers.

“We saw the two of them coming from the same direction on top speed, scampering to overtake each other when one of them veered off the road.

“Later, we saw occupants of the trucks tumbling, three died instantly and many sustained injuries, including broken limbs. One of the victims had his head decapitated.

‘’It was a horrible sight,,,,

The Federal Government, on Thursday, released new guidelines for the reopening of schools in the country, following the lockdown and staggered curfew as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, gave out the new guideline in a briefing in Abuja.

Aliyu said: “The Federal Ministry of Education, the PTF and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, have developed guidelines to ensure schools can reopen, minimise the risk of transmission and continue to operate safely.

“Schools and educational bodies that plan to reopen must have detailed communication protocols that include parents, school health teams, school authorities and local (and) state officials.

“They must also have a system for providing regular updates for parents, staff and relevant authorities as well as communicate changes to procedures effectively and clearly as well as taking effective measures to understand how COVID-19 can spread and how to mitigate the spread in line with official guidelines.
