“I have acne, how do I cure it with products?” - this is the question I get too often� Here’s a Starter Guide to get you going:
�Use sunscreen everyday❤️UV rays only worsen the already present inflammation on your skin & prevent it from healing faster. +Oxidised sebum is much more clogging�
�Avoid oils (pore-clogging, sooner or later) & essential oils (irritating)
�Avoid drying out your skin with witch hazel, SD alcohol/alcohol denat and charcoal masks
�Don’t use food as your skincare - no honey masks/baking soda/apple cider vinegar/lemon & other random fruits
�Avoid fragranced products, the ones with “natural fragrance” in the form of essential oils as well➡️
�Tea tree oil, menthol, mint, spearmint, eucalyptus, lavender, bergamot, orange/lemon peel oil contribute to irritation, not healing
�“But Halina, I don’t see any irritation!”- essential oils are ninjas. You don’t always see the “RED, IRRITATED SKIN” right away. They work silently but surely over time to increase photosensitivity/inflammation. Wrinkles come quicker, chances of rosacea & adult acne rise, hyperpigmentation becomes your buddy
�Don’t scrub your face. Creating microtears & spreading acne bacteria all over the face is not the best�Look into chemical exfoliants instead: acids
�Use a gentle, water-based, pH-balanced (5-5.5pH) cleanser. And do TAKE TIME washing your face! I can see the acnecommunity rolling the eyes on “Do you wash your face?” question, I know, been there. I’m merely emphasizing the 60secondrule while PM routine cleansing�Very inflamed acne/sensitive skin can benefit from just mere water cleanse in the AM, btw
�Don’t use your cleanser as a mask�
�Consult a specialist about active ingredients & how to incorporate them into your routine to tackle acne specifically. Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, AHAs, sulfur, retinoids are helpful, but require a very special regimen & cannot be used all together
�Don’t do “100 products routine”. Skin likes simple & consistent. Otherwise one day it may rebel and develop allergies/sensitivity, on top of acne�‍♀️ Agree?❤️&�Tell me, do you want a more in-depth acne series?

WHAT CAUSES WHITEDOTS
First, white dots are caused when the hair follicle/pores Whitens faster than the rest of the skin.
When using creams that doesn't contain enough emollient in it(cream with no enough emollient (eg of emollient is Lanolin, Squalane, petrolatum, shea butter etc) They are used to smooth the surface of the skin✔️
You are meant to add emollients in it, in other for the cream to spread on the skin rather than penetrate into the pore quickly and whiten it with out lightening/whitening the rest of your skin.
Remember this is prevention not cure.��
Such cream (without enough emollient) stays dry on the skin, the only receptor of your cream is now the pores, it starts to whiten leaving the most majority part of your skin out. �
Prevention: make sure that any cream you apply on yout skin have proplyn glycol or any emollient like the examples I mentioned above� when putting your cream together, add enough proplyn glycol or any of the example like lanolin, Emu oil or pure Vitamin E oil �
This way, your product can NEVER give white dots on the skin
