Pacypatty: Please gurus I want some classification, this sponsorship visa when one apply, do one just go ahead to ask for sponsorship or wait for them to bring it up?
Please make una answer. Thanks There is a way you ask tactically. For example during interviews state that you will need a sponsorship certificate as you are in Africa. Or when they are slating you for interview you can reply the interview mail saying you are from nigeria and is the timing UK time or African time. Sha use brain dey tell them but during your interview state clearly when they ask you if you have questions that you will be needing COs if you pass |

Alphaman007: Hello everyone, I have been following this thread judiciously and I really appreciate the depth of information given here. I'd appreciate an input as i studied psychology in my undergrad and I interned in a neuropsychiatric hospital for about 3 months few years back, I also have been the one taking care of my granny since inception, is this sufficient experience to apply for a care visa? the only document I feel I do not have is IELTS which hopefully I'd be writing soon. Thank you while I await your response. It depends on how you report this work history and the job duties you put below it. Just be detailed about your work experience |

Source: https://uktiersponsors.co.uk/ My care company is not on the list too but they have a license. There is something called trade name. Some care homes have a trade name on their license and another name as the company name so just don’t base everything on that list |

Chelseafan1: He said I'll take the test my sef, they are gonna train me. I will advice you calm down on the agency thing and try doing it yourself. Unless you have seen someone they have assisted successfully. It’s something you can do yourself. And even people in the uk using Agents pay more than 2m so this package is kinda looking somehow. I have my uk friends doing this themselves too because agents are not smiling. Again if you are sure go ahead but be very careful. |

Emurate1: Asking them if they'll provide maintenance, visa, flight fee? That's not the same thing as asking about your working conditions. They are not under law to provide it, so if someone chooses not to ask that during interview, then it's all good.
Those questions you claim to have asked about CoS and offer letter are basic questions every individual should ask. Aside salary(which I would never ask. it's always stated in the job advert), how can you even ask for Visa , flight and accommodation assistance when you don't have an offer? It's really sad that you see nothing weird in that. For someone with such mindset, you are suprisinly confident.
If you read properly to understand, I can't recall saying asking questions was solely the reason I didn't get the job. Where did i ask anyone to ask them for assistance? Already if you are looking for a job in the uk then you should be prepared for the cost involved the only thing i said was ask questions about your working conditions and cos and I added constructive questions but your overly defensive self is always trying to gratify your points by reconstructing people’s words. Whatever works for you really. P.S I didn’t direct my answer to your post in the first place so please stay off my tail. |

Ijyoma: Well, until I see the CoS..because there are so many connotations from the application stage through to the interview that I really cannot overthink. I wouldn't say that I'm one to shy away from questions but there's a fine line between assertiveness and outright pesky...I already felt honored to be granted the interview and so all I had in mind was to pour my lines and zap out of there.. Very impressive and intelligent to have the offer and very little information about your own employment now. Goodluck |

Emurate1: During interview that you're still praying to get the job, you want to start asking such questions.
The one time I tried to go deep with my CoS questions, they told me when the time comes, the right department will contact me. That was the only interview I didn't get the job. That was one of the best interview's I've had. I'm not saying that might be the reason for denial, but you never know.
It sounds like an ideal question to ask, but I don't think it's really necessary. You have lots of time to ask that after you have your offer. After every other interview they ask you if you also have questions. That is where you should ask these questions constructively its funny how you think asking an organization informations about your own working conditions is why you didn’t get the job. Any organization that is not ready to give you informations about little things like your own relocation to work for them is not worth working for in the first place. I asked all my questions during the interview including if they have license and how many days cos will take. I asked about when i will get an offer incase i am a successful candidate and if I have to sign a contract. Remove Nigerian mentality and ask questions. Yes I got the job |

Ijyoma: Thanks Dee, lemme goan be asking. I was the one that put myself in this mess. Contact person had asked how soon I can make it to the UK, me looking at other people's mata spanning like four months, had said as soon as possible, like yesterday...make I for pass interview well nau. I did not know she will now take my word for it like that. As per funds, I will just ask sha..otherwise, people that don't want to pay for five days training will now take care of me in the first month? The right questions to ask is if they will provide maintenance for your visa and indicate on your COS. Also ask questions about your relocation and the assistance they are ready to provide. Already this are questions you were supposed to ask during your interview. But ask questions. Some of them provide assistance up to visa fee, flight and accommodation. |

Emurate1: 10 hours for 5 days in a week isn't bad for a start. Average care home is 12 hours per shift for 4 days. That's 48 hours per week. Personally, I don't see any difference though.
If you add overtime to your normal work hours, you'll be exceeding that 50 hours. So it's all the same Averagely, please sign 37-39 hours highest 40 hours. Don’t start what you cannot finish. It looks easy until you get there and its not funny. If you work overtime that one should be on your own term so that anyday way body week you. Person go fit easily rest. |

If he is working overtime at this hours it’s optional Now that he signed 50 hours per week it means he can’t work less than 50 hours per week. Meanwhile, do you know some companies pay extra for overtime? He could even choose to work overtime with them or work overtime with agencies after 6months but with this he is being committed to work 50hours every week with that company. If you work overtime you can choose to work one extra shift in two weeks or whatever way it suits you. Don’t encourage what is not right. I don’t even have anything against him picking up this job but i am just educating other people. |
