Senator Shehu Sani lost his mother earlier today May 21st. She has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May her soul rest in pace Amen. More photos after the cut.

Shehu Sani (born 29 October 1967) is a Nigerian Senator, an Author, Playwright and a renown Human Rights Activist. He is the President of the Civil Right Congress of Nigeria - (CRCN) and the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand, Africa. He was a leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria . He has been arrested and jailed by past successive military regimes in Nigeria . He was released from life imprisonment when Democracy was restored in Nigeria in 1999. He contested and won the Kaduna Central Senatorial District on 28 March 2015.

First pictures of the mangled wreckage from Egypt Air flight 804. The plane's twisted blue metal panelling, marked with Egypt-Air branding, as well as items of clothing and yellow lift jackets have been recovered from the sea, as the search of the wreckage still continues at the crash site.
Investigators have confirmed that smoke alarms were reportedly sounding for almost three minutes on board the flight before it plummeted into the sea. Also, Egyptian media have reported that divers have found the blackbox of the plane, which could provide vital clues into what caused the plane to crash just as it entered Egyptian airspace on its journey to Cairo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to investigate the activities of the last administration.
On Friday May 6th, officials of EFCC visited the headquarters of Access Bank Plc seeking clarification from the bank’s officials. The Commission invited Herbert Wigwe – Managing Director of the bank for questioning and released him after a couple of hours.
It is back to business as usual in the bank and activities have continued without any disruptions.
The EFCC had taken its investigation into the arms procurement scandal further to the 2015 presidential campaign funds of former President Goodluck Jonathan, with the fresh move a result of alleged discoveries that more party members received funds from the office of the National Security Adviser, specifically for the party’s presidential campaign.

Members of EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit on Tuesday, April 26, arrested a 30-year-old Nigerian national for possession of drugs at a block of flats at the intersection of Rietfontein Road and Second Street, in Boksburg North, South Africa.
According to EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago: “On Tuesday, April 26, a block of flats in Boksburg North was staked out for a couple of hours by EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members following receipt of information about a suspected drug-dealer,”
Kgasago said a man fitting the description appeared at around 11am, after the block of flats had been observed for about three hours.
“He was found in possession of drugs and was arrested.” Kgasago added that the drugs were confiscated. “A total of 38 ziplock bags of cat, worth R3 000 on the streets, were found on the said person,”
The man was taken to the Boksburg North Police Station and charged with possession and suspected dealing in illicit substances. He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon.
