It is simple logic. If you believe spirits exist and are intelligent beings then you will believe they can help you
That's the fallacy right there. There's a difference between saying ancestors don't exist and saying begging ancestors has been shown not to work

JuanDeDios:
Colonization is your measure of success now?

Ok. Japan is an ancestor-worshipping society. It's successful. Was not colonized even.
There us a difference between honoring ancestors and calling on them to help you fight the British

If you have a training in the spirit sector say as a Babalawo or a Buddhist monk, you will not be saying spirits don't exist. Enlightenment is not free and the enlightened don't doubt the existence of spirits
This is called strawman fallacy. See the definition below. Where did I ever say spirits don't exist??

And you haven't heard of successful societies where the majority are non-Christian, atheist or pagan?
Not a single ancestor-worshipping society was not defeated and colonized

Every normal human being believe spirits exist even if only in paradise which is why you believe Jesus is God or that you are going to heaven. Muslims also believe Mohammed's spirit is in Aljanna. All human cultures believe their ancestors are in heaven. All human cultures without exception. They also believe in reincarnation. People worship ancestors all over the world. You are now saying not many of them?
We have gone beyond belief at this point. You can believe anything you wish. We are talking of what has been shown to work from experience.

You're saying Christianity and Islam doesn't work then. You're saying no religion works.
There are lots of examples of successful societies where majority are Muslims or Christians

They are dead? What about your Jesus that you worship? Is he alive? Someone who died two thousand years ago that you say is still alive and you are saying people's real ancestors are dead. I hope you see the folly. Spirits don't die unless of repetitive evil doing. People worship ancestors, liaise with ancestors and etc all over the world from Europe to Japan to China and etc. It is the default for humanity
I clearly said Jesus is part of the God head. Humans die or become ineffective in this realm.
Hence Muslims don't worship Muhammad but they worship Allah.
Once gain, I don't know any first world country where lots of people worship ancestors. Secondly, all ancestor-worshipping societies were conquered and colonized
Politics › Re: Sunday Igboho Says He Is A Christian Who Uses Charms, Sparks Fresh Debate by QuinQQ(f): 1:07pm On Mar 01
lawani:
People who don't worship their ancestors are the outliers. Ancestor worship is the rule all over the world. The only people there for you are your ancestors. They have a stake in you as when they are incarnating it must be through you. When they help you they help themselves. Whether you worship your ancestors or not, they are the ones on the lookout for you
They are dead. As in DEAD! Did you consider that angle?
If you know any first world country that worships ancestors let's have it

Foreign Affairs › Re: Iranians Celebrate The Death Of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by QuinQQ(f): 12:53pm On Mar 01
P1PrinceKT:
The idea that says he hide in a bunker is a lie. In fact they (US and Israel) are aware that he is not hiding anywhere, he continues his normal duties before they killed him, that's why they announced they've killed him after strucking the house.

The guy is very brave. He died as a very courageous hero.
You mean he died like a FOOL

There was a Christian woman whose car had a brake failure at a corner. She started to call out repeatedly to Jesus, while doing her best to stabilize the vehicle. Unfortunately, she lost control and the vehicle fell into a ditch. She died.

So this DISPROVES Jesus?
If it happens consistently and her society and all societies like hers are conquered and colonized by ancestor worshiping societies, it would considerably be proof that her method does not work

Really.
But most of these so-called Christians are mean and very heartless.
What has this to do with what Kumta said?
Here's what he said verbatim:
Only Jesus can save and deliver you, try Him, He saved me and will do the same for you if only you allow Him
Politics › Re: Sunday Igboho Says He Is A Christian Who Uses Charms, Sparks Fresh Debate by QuinQQ(f): 12:24pm On Mar 01
JuanDeDios:
What religion do you profess?
I'm a Christian. We don’t believe in worshipping ancestors and sacrficing animals. We do believe that Lord Jesus (as part of the God head) laid down his life (and 3 days later took it up again) so that "whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)

PROVEN not to work? You have acquired KNOWLEDGE, scoured this entire UNIVERSE of ours, and proved or disproved anything?

Good for you then.
Well I know that when Britain was advancing towards Benin with a few soldiers, the Oba was busy sacrificing pregnant women and worshipping ancestors. They picked hm up like a chicken and sent him on exile. So also rest of Africa and all societies around the world that worship ancestors.

Iran will go the way of Iraq. My prediction.
But US had no choice. The Iranian regime MUST Go no matter what they agree to. The negotiations were a smokescreen.

Fair point. Animal sacrifices don't belong in the modern world. I guess that's why they don't practice it in Rabbinical Judaism. I'm sure Ifa people will get there too, with time. Face marking has reduced - it'll go with time too.

Nothing wrong with ancestor worship though. What you worship is just a function of your belief, nothing more. It will never make sense to anybody, except those who share the belief with you.
Well, you go with what has been proven to work.
Ancestor worship has been proven NOT to work.
Believe it or not the Spanish guy dutifully does his sacrifices - all this from meeting some Yoruba guy!

Then this will be the very first time Israel says someone is dead and they're alive.

These don't look bad. If I'd read this when I was still "searching", I'm sure I'd've found them very interesting, at least, and given Ifa a second glance.

On the circled, I've noticed that all religions emphasis sacrifice. Blood sacrifice, in particular, is a huge feature of pagan religions. I guess that's why blood sacrifice also features heavily in Christianity and Islam, as it does in their forebear Judaism, which had its roots in ancient Canaan pagan religions.
Yeah, Ifa makes sense until it starts talking about ancestors and sacrifices. Most successful societies don't worship ancestors and don't sacrifice animals! Same way societies with lowest infant mortality don't cut baby faces

Ha! I will shamelessly say they work ohh, because in my 48 years on earth as a Yoruba person, from the days of aluta to the days of business along the borders witnessing Tokunbo guys and customs agents and many other, i can tell you i have seen the manifestations of charms more than fake miracles.
Charms work until one is told to prove or demonstrate it, then you'll start hearing all sorts of excuses. You can easily prove that a bulletproof vest can stop a bullet, compare to proving that odeshi can stop a bullet!

I am a yoruba born again Christian, most yorubas use charms, whether christian or muslims. i dont use it, but my extended family uses it, either to get favour, good luck. protection, love, evil and so on and it is potent. i dont believe in it but i have seen it works.
Because it is part of who they and it is sad. Same reason they cut baby faces, never mind that they have higher infant mortality rate then people who don't cut babies

Lol

Well, the Yorubas are the inventors of Syncretism. In the diaspora, they created Santeria, which blends Catholicism with Yoruba traditions. Here at home, they created White Garment churches, which blend Christianity with Yoruba traditions. They even found a way to smuggle some Yoruba things (e.g. alfa) into Islam.

Respect!
They also created most of the mega churches in Nigeria. I met one Spanish guy who told me he worships ifa and his life ambition was to visit Nigeria
