Thanks A lot Guys for rising to the occasion.

Apparently another individual/organisation have rented a place for the family that we are trying to help and they will be moving soon. (News confirmed this morning)

Now with the amount of response on this thread, I believe we can all work together to run the NAIRALAND CHARITY ORG just in case something else pops up or a member needs a GENUINE assistance, we can all work together to make it happen.

Each case will be thoroughly accessed and investigated by designated members to avoid fraud.

Me and couple of other members (which I will be disclosing to you guys soon) are working together on this project and with you guys support, I am sure we will get there.

We are open to ideas and suggestions so please feel free to add or subtract.

REMEMBER WE ARE ONLY TRYING TO HELP grin grin

Thanks a lot guys for rising to the occasion.

Well it has been confirmed that the family has a property now and will be moving soon.

So do you think we should still do our bit or we should just forget the contributions?

@r321 dont mind them. Can you imagine no entertainment system on the outgoing and inbound flights, then yesterday they threw us all into a boiling plane claiming that they cant switch on the air conditioning until the engines are switched on. Why weren't the engines switched on? . . because the pilot was stuck in traffic. Passengers nearly rioted yesterday o! Their Drink and food is the worst I have ever had on any airline & I am not a fussy eater. They can keep their 160568Kg allowance sha. I no do again.

Anyway back to business. What is the email addy of the paypal account that people can pay money into?

Like most things of this nature, we have to strike while the iron is hot or people get distracted and move onto other things. A lot of people have indicated that they want to donate but there are still no account numbers etc. Very soon the people will start spending money that they have earmarked for donations on other things so please please please let us get an account up and running ASAP so that people can deposit into it before people get bored and move on.
their pilot must be a very unreliable person then cus that was the same thing that happened to us when we are leaving Lagos. 10 minutes later i turned into a tap water socked and srtd wiping myself with their blanket. The staff very rude nothing to write home about and they refuse to give me water too,

Well regarding the issue, the account details will be available later today and the list will be updated as well.

I can volunteer one of my redundant account and make anyone who is interested a co signatory and even add up to 5 people on this thread to the SMS alert list so that transactions can be monitored!

This is me being nice. And my money would not go into this account as I dont fully support this cause. When a real helpless person in need arises, then I will actively participate.

Cheers!
you dont support but you want to give account hmmmmmm so nice of you

well thank you we got it covered alrdy

I wouldn't completely rule out a paypal option. We had the same obstacle on the Menek thread and what people did was to pay into my paypal account here in the UK and I changed the £ into Naira and paid it into his account.

Unfortunately I just got back from Nigeria, so I cant do it for this one, however I want to beleive that there must be someone trustworthy going to Nigeria soon from the UK and the US who can remit funds to this family.
Madam welcome bck. . . . . unfortunately i wont take Arik if they are giving the ticket out for free grin grin grin they show us pepper the last time we mess with them thats why me and them part ways grin grin grin

well as for the money issue, actually we are trying to do paypal for the abroad and wire the money down to ify in naija

and the pple in naija can contact her direct or the other person that will be working with her in Lagos

^^^^^ oh ok gat you

I was just thinking that the most important thing right now is for them to move out of that place and since we have agreed to put them to work/biz as well hopefully they will be able to handle things from there and get out more.

Besides how many churches or other organisation help people in Nigeria, I am not saying there in none but I don't think have that much access to them. Blame the Govt and the stupid politician including pastors that only care about themselves and family
