Yes, I did... she immediately told me, that should be Study Visa and I said, yes.
Bursttt:
Did you tell her your own is 8 months ?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 4:37pm On Feb 06, 2023
According to her, she said... they are treating applications but I don't know the people receiving it. Mine is 8months and yet, no response.

Moyosoore2001:
I applied for study visa not E VISA
So right now we don’t know if anyone has gotten any updates for study visa.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 3:45pm On Feb 06, 2023
First time of calling this number in 8months and it went through. Someone picked and spoke with me...

Now, she said... all application is processed in Abuja and not DHA... That, they only send data to them for verification.

They have huge of backlog, the main reason for Study visa delay.

I should exercise patience after 8months... It is well ooo. I am just at the verge of losing the opportunity.

Please, which email address should I usehuh Kindly help me out
Bursttt:
I’d advise you Write to the minister of DHA first via mail. China’s Visa that is the hardest to get on this earth and also have the highest application rate for visa will never delay it. You’d know you decision within 3-4days worse case

The wait is already so frustrating... This is the 8month since, I filed my application. Just tired of the system and now another excuse... Please, how can I withdraw my passport.

Myst77:
Jan - Aug 2022 long term visa applicants who are still waiting for their outcome - Note that SA load shedding has been seriously heightened lately so, know that DHA’s working hours would be severely affected.

Here’s a link on the power issue in SA: https://businesstech.co.za/news/energy/660929/load-shedding-pushed-to-stage-5-in-south-africa-heres-the-schedule/amp/

Side note for VFS evisa applicants: If the adjudication of VFS evisa is being done in Pretoria (not sure if it is), the load shedding issue will likely have a huge effect on the processing time. Let’s hope that it’s the embassy that’s handling the review.

Hi house, I actually applied for a year study Visa to carry out my doctoral research work and here is a delay, I can't just wrap my head over.

Seeing update of backlog in Pretoria, I am even more scared

Please, can I withdraw my application, and get all the documents again and file a fresh application which will be process here in Nigeria.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 6:23am On Jan 12, 2023
It's heart breaking.... I applied since on the 5th of July, 2022 and until now, no outcome... all mails sent, no response. I am even at the verge of losing the opportunity. Just to approve a year Visa with all the documents, I submitted.

quote author=Myst77 post=119943033]Interesting - shouldn’t they be tackling the delayed processing of long term visa applications from Nigeria (study, work, retired person etc.)? I understand that the rest of the world is also gravely affected by this delay from DHA.

Most people who applied in 2022 between Jan and Aug have their applications stuck in the backlog in Pretoria. None of the emails (IMSqueries, HACC, and Embassy/Consulate emails etc.) and helplines have proffered any helpful feedback aside from the usual “it’s still in process” or even worse, they keep mute. The psychological effect of this delay on applicants is damaging - Spouses forced into long distance relationship, babies of foreigners born in SA without birth certificate, foreign-owned businesses unable to transfer or employ skilled staff, students with admission offers missing resumption dates and so on.

One cannot plan their life long term in SA particularly if they have to wait numerous months or years for long term visas and no one high up in our government is talking about it! The Nigerian press has reported a few but, it seems they have not done enough to draw the attention of our government to the problem or our government has simply ignored the issue or they have chosen to believe false reports or half truths.

It’s a seriously helpless situation - applicants are just stuck in limbo. It’s just not fair.[/quote]

Please, which email address did you use for them to respond.

Offsetdrip:
They won’t, instead told me they don’t have no access to the embassy approval to visa processing, right now I seriously hate this South Africa of a thing, I sent an email, I was replied that as from 1th of September visa process are done at Nigeria embassy
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 5:53pm On Dec 22, 2022
I have waited since July 5th till date for an outcome, yet nothing. I don't even know if I should withdraw my application and reapply.

Numerous mails sent, no response equally.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 11:25pm On Nov 29, 2022
I don't understand this people again. I even saw somewhere that VFS South Africa will close on 16 December till 9th January, 2023, yet some applications are not attended to. Mine is even a year study Visa and no outcome since 5th July.

Yinksman23:
Hello everyone,

Please i need suggestions about my study visa application. I submitted my application since march and I am yet to get any response. I contacted vfs some weeks ago and i got a response that my application is still being processed.
I just hope all is well.....
Thank you for your contributions.

Tell your University to write a very strong letter to the SA Consulate here in Nigeria. That should speed up things for you.
Please, can I have the email address of the SA consulate here in Nigeria.

Thank you.

Hmmmm.... I applied for a one year study Visa to go for a PhD research work in Walter Sisulu University since 5th July, 2022 at Abuja and equally submitted a signed MoU between my home institution and the host institution.

Until now, no response yet... Looking at myself everyday as my PhD years don dey increase because of this same delay.

My host institution have sent in mail, no response... I have even sent them mail, no response....

This is because of the massive backlog they are dealing with right now. They are aware that applications are taking longer than usual to process and don’t want to hold people’s passport for too long.

Meanwhile, if anyone submitted a long term visa (over 90 days) application between 12 Jan and 31 Aug this year (as your application may have been forwarded to Pretoria for adjudication) and has not received any feedback, please send an email to IMSqueries@dha.gov.za.
This mail...

Yes, I have been checking it... The update: Your application is received and under assessment at "The South Africa High Commission, Abuja"

That's why, I wished to know if anyone that submitted around that time has gotten response.

That’s long, have you tried to check your status on the vfs website ?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Rachyekong: 12:01am On Nov 16, 2022
Please, any latest updates with regards to SA Visa.

I applied for a one year Study Visa for a PhD research bench work since on 5th July, 2022, and until now, I haven't heard anything from the Embassy or VFS

Though, I am aware of issues like backlog, adjudication at DHA and other stories... But please, is there anyone that applied within that time and have gotten response from them?

Thank you.
