The declaration was made in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during a meeting of Ijaw Youths, Ijaw Elders, and Ijaw Women from across Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Ondo.

Speaking through their leaders, the Ijaws said Wike has become a betrayal to the Niger Delta and they will not allow him to sell Rivers State to Tinubu.

"We promise to disgrace Nyesom Wike who plans to rig Rivers State for Tinubu. We are Ijaws, we are prepared to block any way Wike plans to rig Rivers State for Tinubu," they said.

"We Ijaws still hold grudges against Tinubu for betraying our son, Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. Jonathan is our son. Tinubu and APC ganged up against him, insulted him, and removed him. We have never forgiven Tinubu. Now he wants to use Wike, another betrayer, to rig Rivers? We will not allow it. Ijaws will hand over Rivers State for Peter Obi."

The Ijaws listed their anger:

1. Wike is betraying Rivers for his stomach: He is not fighting for Rivers, he is fighting for his pocket in Abuja. He wants to rig Rivers for Tinubu to remain as FCT Minister. We will disgrace him in his own land.

2. Tinubu betrayed Jonathan: Ijaws have not forgotten how Tinubu insulted Jonathan and led the coalition that removed an Ijaw President. How can Ijaws now vote for Tinubu? Impossible.

3. Peter Obi is the man of the Niger Delta: Peter Obi is the only candidate who has visited Niger Delta many times, who talks about production, who respects our people. He is the only one who can clean the betrayal. That is why Ijaws vow to hand over Rivers State for Peter Obi.

An Ijaw woman leader from the region added:

"Wike thinks Rivers is his personal house. He has forgotten that Rivers is Ijaw land and Ijaw is majority. As at press time, Nyesom Wike has not responded, but sources close to him say he is planning to deliver Rivers for Tinubu at all costs.

The women concluded: "In 2023 they told us to vote tribe. We voted tribe and we got hunger, bandits and immorality. In 2027, we will vote competence, discipline and family values. That is Peter Obi. All Northern Women are now OBIDIENT."

As at press time, Peter Obi's camp has not reacted, but a close aide said Obi's priority has always been to end insecurity, create jobs, and restore family values.

Political observers say the defection to NDC is not just about brothels - it is about:

In what many political analysts have described as the most honest statement from the South-West since 2023, the Yoruba Elders Council has openly declared where Yoruba people stand — They like Peter Obi, but dislike Tinubu.

The declaration was made today after an emergency meeting held in Ibadan to assess the state of the nation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking through their Chairman, the Elders said they can no longer keep quiet while Nigeria is collapsing because of tribal sentiments.

"We like Peter Obi, we dislike Tinubu. Not because Tinubu is Yoruba and Obi is Igbo. We are Yoruba, but we are Nigerians first. We like competence and we dislike incompetence. Simple," the Elders stated.


The Elders listed why they like Peter Obi:

The Elders also listed, without fear:

1. Incompetent: In three years, Tinubu has taken Nigeria from bad to worse. Fuel from N190 to N1,200. Dollar from N400 to N1,700. Bag of rice from N35k to N120k. No single economic policy is working.
2. Wasteful: While Nigerians are starving, Tinubu is buying new Presidential jet, N160m cars for lawmakers, N15 Trillion Lagos-Calabar road that nobody needs now.
3. Clueless: Tinubu's only solution to hardship is "Endure, have faith, e lo fokan bale." A competent leader gives solution, not endurance sermon.
4. Tribal Government: Tinubu's appointments are 90% Yoruba. Even Buhari that was accused of nepotism did not do like this. He has turned national government to Lagos kitchen cabinet.

The Elders concluded:

"In Yoruba land, we say 'Ori la ba bo, a fi orisha sile' - We left wisdom and we are worshipping idol. Peter Obi is the Ori (wisdom), Tinubu is the orisha we are worshipping because he is our son. But a child who cannot manage his house cannot manage Nigeria. Yoruba must choose wisdom over sonship."

"In 2023 we said Emi lo kan, now we are saying Ebi lo kan - Hunger is now our turn. That is what incompetence brings."

They warned that in 2027, Yorubas will not vote tribe, they will vote competence. And competence has a name — Peter Gregory Obi.

In a strong statement that is shaking Ibadan and Lagos, prominent Yoruba Elders Forum has warned Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State not to sabotage the presidential ambition of Mr. Peter Obi.

The elders said they have watched the political moves in the South-West with concern, especially the role Governor Makinde is playing in the opposition pathway.

According to the Elders, "80% out of 100% Yorubas on the street are with Peter Obi because of his competence, not tribe. Any Yoruba leader who tries to sabotage Obi for personal 2027 ambition will face consequences from Yoruba people themselves."

The Elders reminded Governor Makinde of his long-standing relationship with Peter Obi:

2. Both men are known as two of the most performing Governors in Nigeria - Makinde in Oyo, Obi in Anambra. They share same ideology of prudent governance, not extravagance.
3. Makinde is the only PDP Governor in South-West, Obi is the face of opposition. If Makinde sabotages Obi to please Tinubu or to push his own Presidential ambition, Yorubas will see it as betrayal of the South-West interest.

The Elders said: "Makinde should remember, he won in Oyo because Yoruba youths, not because of Abuja. Those same youths shouting Seyi today are shouting Obi tomorrow. Don't kill the voice of the youth because of politics."

They concluded that Peter Obi is not an Igbo project, he is a Nigerian project, and majority of Yoruba people, especially professionals, youths, and elders who want real change, are with him.

"Democracy is not about sabotage, it is about capacity. If you sabotage a capable man, history will judge you," the statement read.

Average rent a room before this administration came was about $800 a month and some people were struggling to pay, with this administration it's now average of $1,300 and some of those people are moving from 1 room now to 3 bedrooms and even some bought their own house.
