Niger Delta elders and stakeholders have dismissed claims that the region is mobilizing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing the so-called "PBAT Door-To-Door Movement" as a personal political project that does not represent the will of the Niger Delta people.

The reaction follows a report that Ambassador Preye Ekpebide, National Chairman of Phase 3 of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, endorsed the movement initiated by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

But in a swift response, prominent Niger Delta elders said the endorsement does not reflect the position of the region.

They argued that PAP reforms and training of 9,000 beneficiaries cannot cover up the pains of inflation, unemployment, and neglect of core Niger Delta development projects.
"You cannot use stipends and training to buy the conscience of an entire region that is bleeding economically," another leader said.

The elders vowed that 2027 will be about accountability, not loyalty to individuals. They called on Niger Delta youths to reject any "door-to-door campaign" that seeks to trade their votes for personal contracts and political appointments.

"President Tinubu had his chance. The Niger Delta gave its support before and was betrayed. This time, we will vote with our stomachs, our future, and the memory of our people," the elders concluded.

The APC has faced various internal debates since 2023 over zoning, party structure, and strategy for 2027. However, no official move to remove the Vice President has been announced by the Presidency, National Assembly, or APC leadership.
