No illegal organ trade

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is not a country that harvests organs illegally.

All harvesting and transplants are carried out in a transparent manner, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

The procedures also required the approval from a special committee, he added,

“The claims are baseless and have been refuted by the police.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and carry out organ transfers in a transparent manner,” he said yesterday after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between his ministry and Novartis Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd to strengthen their healthcare partnership.

Novartis, based in Basel, Switzerland, is a multinational company with a diversified healthcare portfolio including pharmaceutical. It achieved a net sales of US$58.6bil (RM186.8bil) last year.

Liow was confirming police findings that organs were not being illegally harvested from foreigners as previously claimed by some.

Thank you so much bro Frosbel for your testimony.

Gosh, I actually have had the same experience like yours in the 2nd part of your visions/dreams. Mine happened many many years ago when I was still a young Christian before my baptism in water and in spirit.

There was writing on the wall which I couldn't decipher and the next thing I knew, I was pulled down in a very dark tunnel. The forces that pulled me down was eerily strong with the speed of lightning. Darkness overwhelmed me and I was screaming my lungs out calling the name of Jesus to rescue me. (Still didn't really know how to pray at that time.) I screamed until I almost lost my breath but no help came. Before I passed out, I remember clearly to this day I said this, "Jesus, I love you." Instantly, I was pulled out of the pit of hell shaken, awoke in the middle of the night and in jittery. It was scary indeed.

It's hard for people to understand until they went through similar experiences. I just thank God for His saving grace and for loving me first.

Malaysian Police nail Facebook cons
By AUSTIN CAMOENS
austin@thestar.com.my

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted an international syndicate which uses the social network Facebook to cheat women.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime deputy director Datuk Rodwan Mohd Yusof said police detained two Nigerian men and a local woman, aged between 26 and 39, in two separate raids in Seri Kembangan and Cheras on Monday.

“We received a report from a Taiwanese businesswoman claiming she was cheated of RM380,000 after falling in love with one of the syndicate members.

“The suspect posed as a British national under the name John Miller on Facebook and courted the woman for three months through Facebook,” he said.

The suspect claimed that he was from Britain and told the woman that he would send her a gift which contained valuables worth RM950,000 through a forwarding agent in Malaysia.

“The suspect told the woman who had gone back to Taiwan that she had to pay him to release the package which was being restricted by the Customs Department,” he said, adding that she then sent RM380,000 through several Western Union transactions.

He said that once the suspect realised she was duped, she returned to Malaysia and lodged the report.

Rodwan said police seized jewellery worth at least RM100,000, several computers, ATM cards as well US$15,000 (RM45,470) and RM14,260 in cash.

“Police also believe that the suspects had used the money to run a car rental business,” he said, adding that six cars, including a Toyota Rush and a Honda Accord, had been seized from the Seri Kembangan business premises.

He said that police were trying to establish how long the suspects had been operating the business.

Rodwan said the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for fraud.

He said last year, 759 fraud cases were reported with a total of RM20.5mil in losses recorded, while 130 people were charged.

He added that so far this year, 245 cases had been reported with a total of RM9.4mil in losses recorded.

Did I say that Nigerians are dying of hunger? I said many are poor. Poor people can still survive with little they have. What is wrong with you?
I came from a poor family and life was hard when I was young. Did I die of hunger? Geez,

Never said Malaysia is a paradise. Never said Nigeria is hopeless. You are the one with the inferiority complex!

I see potential in my cyber friend. I see him having a good life and achieving his dream. I see him becoming the President of Nigeria. If I'm such a hypocrite, I won't waste any time corresponding with him for the past 2 years.

Yes, I can't stand the abuses suffered by your countrymen under the previous and current rulers in Naija.

Damn you, you can't take a little criticism and factual statements. I pity those who work with you!

No, I'm here preaching to one and he knows who I'm talking about!

You, contented, really!!! Don't sound like one to me. Share market is not the place for a contented person.

J0, let's be truthful for once abeg. What's the unemployment rate in Nigeria? You want to be realistic, ok let's talk sense. You said there are ample opportunities back home, I buy that. What sort of opportunities were you referring to? Not all are highly qualified like you, not all have $$$ to start up even a roadside business. With 150 million population and more are popping out each day, how fast can your government and private sectors create jobs to meet the demand from school leavers? If jobs were that easy to get, your countrymen would think twice about hustling in a foreign land.

Unemployment rate in Malaysia always hovers around 3 to 4%. I for one, have not much qualification to begin with. I know what it's like to be poor. Being fortunate to live in an environment where jobs are plentiful, I never have problem looking for jobs. There was one year I switched 3 jobs with no break in between. I'm not ashamed to tell you that I hopped from job to job to satisfy this fighter instinct in me that wants to learn. I know I lose out for not having the paper qualification but what's inside my brain, no one can take that away from me! So paper chaser I'm not, practicality is my motto in life! Do you think I'll have the same opportunity if I were to be born in Nigeria? Unlikely! Oh, I don't wanna be self employed, too much headache lah! I can run a company for somebody else and let him worry about the finances. grin

Have you not experienced the "Oga 20 Naira" roadblocks in your beloved country? Then you must be driving a VVVIP limo with a siren-blarring security truck in front of you. Lucky J0! As per crimes, go read all the real life stories from NL peeps who shared their horrifying experience living in fear of arm robbers and kidnappers. No matter how you deny it, our numbers cannot be higher than yours cos the tourists are not stupid, they come without fear to see with their own eyes. J0, our tourism is booming and what's the figure in yours, may I ask?

Why are you being DEFENSIVE my friend, you can dig out all the statistics/indexes/rankings, compare them one by one and then come back tomorrow and tell me which one Nigeria is fairing better than Malaysia. The ones that I know Naija is doing better in numbers are inflation, population, poverty, crimes, corruption etc, Without denying the fact that Mr Wanaj0 is doing far better than this regular Jane, I fervently believe Naija still boleh!

Never been crazy about living outside Nigeria ke? J0, why you dey torture yourself and live a miserable life here in Malaysia? Naaaa, it can't be the steamed fish that's making you groggy. Golf tongue Go home and be your own boss. Employ many of your countrymen and make your big dream come true! All things said, I like your patriotism.

My cyber friend is a writer. Nothing gives him greater joy and satisfaction than seeing people read his articles and books, not even s.e_x. He said that to me lol! This young man aspires to lead Nigeria someday, so regular Jane here has been the motivator singing praises and encouragements to him from day one. He gets reprimanded for misbehaving, too!

Yes, only the Malays can be the PM. They also hold all the important government ministries. Almost all the top posts in the government agencies are theirs. No chance for non-malays to head the army, navy and air force. You see now why Chinese have to take the biggest piece of the economic cake or else we are finished.

To: Hoodrat

I believe there are a few Naija expats in Malaysia. But the one called J0 here is too boastful for his own good.

To: J0

Begging ke? Only a desperate man is foolish enough to accept a job which he is reluctant to accept.

Discrimination has and will become more rampant in days to come here. Who started all this, BN. Their call for "ketuanan melayu" and malay rights are getting louder and louder each day. PKR is messed up and BN is outright hypocrite. DAP is not in my area and I don't buy PAS call for syariah law. Not much choice to choose lah! PKR got my vote previously cos I want them there for check and balances. I also want the opposition to make some noise in the parliament to shut the mouth of the overloaded and chair-warming BN representatives there.

See, the people of Malaysia had done the unthinkable in the last general election. We finally woke BN up and sent chill over their bloated bodies to tell them they are not over the top and their position is not guaranteed. That's why the 1Malaysia concept was started by PM Najib as a programme to unite all Malaysians regardless of race to have one identity. Still, the Malays like deputy PM Muhyiddin consider themselves Malay first before Malaysian. Haba! At least from this painful lesson, all the component parties of BN are on the alert now to work harder for the people not just their own kind and also to listen and help all in needs.

Mind you, the indigenous bumis are in no way 2nd class except for certain privileges which they are entitled to like the Malays. Most of them are still poor in East Malaysia. Indians in Malaysia are almost voiceless now. The Chinese know if they lose their dominance in the economy, they will join the Indians and become hay among the wheats. They call us "Pendatang" so we must work harder to control the wealth and not let it slip from our grip.

Well, I hope one day (hopefully next year) the people of Nigeria will send the same message to PDP with their vote.

J0, pride comes before a fall. You are more blessed because you are the cream of the crop among many poors in your country. You know it. Many of your juniors are without job at home, getting frustrated and finding whatever means to get out before insanity creeps in. You commented many times about low pay in Malaysia especially the entry level banker. My cyber friend was fresh out of the youth corp hunting for job when we started corresponding. He is as brainy like you, graduated from one of the best U in Nigeria but was so desperate in his search for job that he was willing to take any job offered to him. With no car and can't ride a bike lol, he'd track and hop on buses to go for whatever potential job vacancies around Abuja. In the end, he found a desk job but the pay is about half of what our entry level banker gets. It's a humble beginning but he's taking it in his stride for better things to come. I'm so proud of him!

May be you should consult Wanaj0 how in the world he ended up working and living well in your so-called messed up country like Malaysia!

Yes, times and times again I've said Malaysia is NOT the place for Naija hustlers but they still come. Please try and stop them, Hoodrat!

Oh you are so right to say that we have some corrupt and dirty Malay policemen around. I believe you, some of these rotten men in the blue uniform will most likely stop any African blacks to check their identity and legal status. They are after the illegals for some quick cash. It's the risk you guys take for being illegals and being black and Nigerians, you are more vulnerable than any immigrants who are brown skinned.

In a way, you can't entirely blame our enforcements for tracking down your countrymen cos of all the sinister crimes made famous by them (as listed in your post) in the news.

Hope life is better for you in Europe!

You tell me!

Go back and lobby for import duties of 500% to be imposed on all exported goods to Nigeria. If you are successful, then come back and I will kowtow in front of you.

I'm not complaining, I can afford to pay the duties for my Vios and I'm enjoying it now. My brother bought a fully imported car, he paid for it and he ain't complaining too! So why the fuss? To each his own, I don't envy other people.

Oh please, stop the nonsense! White men are nothing to me. I prefer to work with them cos of their work culture, benefits and their generosity.

I'm no BN fan but I must give credit where it's due. Under their leadership, Malaysia is where it's today which is way ahead of your beloved country. That's the fact.

Go do a thesis on tribalism and politics in Nigeria and then compare which one is worse. Let me know your findings ok!

You and I are so different in our mindset. No wonder you are African and I'm Asian, we can't all be the same can we!
Travel / Re: Any Job In Malaysia by raintree: 2:20pm On Dec 04, 2010
It seems that everything this regular Jane says is relative whereas everything Wanaj0 says is the fact. BULL!

You interpret imports as the dumping ground for the exporters? Seriously, there is something wrong with you. If all countries practise close-door policy, restrict imports and impose embargoes, I don’t know how their economy can grow. Why do you think China opened up its economy? What’s so wrong for those who can afford it to have FREEDOM OF CHOICE to decide what their want? Don’t blame the importers, no one stops you from exporting. Get your act together and compete with the rest.

Even with all the multinational companies setting up their production lines in Nigeria or Malaysia, if the locals still want to buy imported goods, let them have their choice to choose. Who are you to tell them not to buy imported goods if they are willing to pay for it? I’m all for free trade. Mr Wanaj0, how is it that a brainy man like you can be so narrow minded?

You probably gonna argue about trade protectionism. Well, there’s nothing to debate if it’s from the government cos we can’t override them. Be thankful that you have a CHOICE to work elsewhere and not confine to your birth country Sir!

Why should I match your amount? You ask me to hire Nigerians, I don’t have the fund, you have so the most I’m willing to contribute is 1 Ringgit.

Preferential treatment ke? Look, I don’t even want to work for Chinese, I have a CHOICE so I pick whiteman’s co.

Yeah yeah you and your stock market! I wonder whether I should laugh or cry when you get burnt really bad next time?

Sure you did! Don’t lie. You searched for clues of this mysterious regular Jane. If you wanna know, she came from Elijah’s chariots of fire!
Travel / Re: Any Job In Malaysia by raintree: 4:25pm On Dec 03, 2010
Regular Jane here isn’t very adventurous lah! Too much sun makes my skin itch from perspiration, I don’t like that o. Since I have fair skin, it takes a day in the sun at the beach to turn it into red hot chilli colour. After resting 3 days, the burnt skin will begin to crack and peel off. When that happens I will transform into a snake-like-human in the mirror. Geez, to say that this alien looks horrible is an understatement. Now you see why a desk job in a cool air-con room is just perfect for me.

Seriously, I don’t mind having my abode on a tree. So cool! But it has to come with power and water. I need to pamper myself with at least the minimum basic human needs. Will you build me one when you return home and prosper with my BLESSING lol? My prayer is powerful and a dose is more than enough for you to see breakthrough with anointing that comes from above. tongue

I presume you meant Chinese from China. I don’t think there are many Malaysians working in Nigeria right now. Don’t tell me your info and mine contradicts again!

Why is it that you tend to mix with the wrong group of people? May be you go clubbing often, that’s why you meet carefree chicks that smoke. I personally dislike smokers, I don’t hate them but the smell is just disgusting.

How big a return are you after, Mr. Guru? Do you want to be the 1st BLACK ALONG in Malaysia? It’s illegal business for goodness sake. May I suggest that you concentrate your mind to start up a genuine business like direct-selling in Nigeria, send a few containers of consumer goods (which are within the affordable price range for your people) such as toiletries, health products, jewelleries, lingerie etc. Test the market and see the response. This is real business, man, not some speculation that depends on the roller coaster of share prices to make a living. Am I talking to the wind now?

Me, a regular Jane becoming an employer, you’ve got to be joking! What about you, why can you not help your fellow countrymen eh? Stop pushing the responsibility to me, you are the RICH man, your $$$ can come in handy and do the tricks. Another suggestion is you go find RM 1 million capital and I will contribute my labour to help employ many Nigerians.

Have you been reading my archive posts? See the copycat in action! What are you looking for? Silver and gold I do not have but what I have I give you in …………………………

How you dey? Me well well.

When I say white-man controlled co., I mean those companies which are owned by Western countries which have subsidiary, branch, regional/representative office, etc in Malaysia. These are the companies I want to work with. Understand now?

I’ve noticed you’ve been talking a lot about East Malaysia. Why? Are you looking for ways to get hooked up with any of the timber tycoon BigBoss? Sorry, I don’t have connection o! I’ve not been to Sarawak. Don’t have any relatives or friends there. My next door neighbour who just moved in not long ago is from Sibu. His folks came to visit him and his new wife recently and I got into conversation with his mom who told me she’s Foochow. She’s such a sweet lady but very talkative. My dialect is actually identical to Foochow but we call it “Hockchew” (don't ask me why). So, yes, I understand Foochow.

Chei, first time I heard of such terminology as a detribalise Nigerian. Thumbs up Sir!

Where do you plan to settle down when you move back to your home base in Naija; Lagos or Abuja? I’ve watched some videos about Nigeria in YouTube. From a foreigner’s point of view, it is indeed a very challenging environment to live in except in a few big cities. I will never forget Vocal Slender. Neither will I forget watching all those thick Nollywood actresses, o boy are they big front back and centre! I guess many Naija men just love their women will flesh, some like them in front, some the back, the remaining want them all lol. Malaysian gals cannot, I repeat CANNOT compete with your well endowed womenfolk back home. What about you, which section attracts you most Sir?

I have problem understanding the Naija accent which I’m sure you find strange with our Manglish too. Some words you guys pronounced so differently like “we_are” for where and “he_are” for here. Interesting!

Thank you for saying that you like Chinese food cos to be frank with you, I might have difficulty eating yours. Haven’t tried any yet but since I’m picky with food; any vege dish should do me fine. But definitely NO bush meat, smoked fish, beef and mutton, please!

PA paying the boss ke? Mr Wanaj0, how you dey wan forfeit your dignity by taking my hard-earned cash ah? Na wa o! You want regular Jane to call you Guru, you must EARN your respect.

Ah ah, you've not answered my questions above, how you dey ask me which Chinese I belong?

I have not joined any of those big big company. I like small to medium size white-man controlled Co. Oga, you have asked the wrong person lah!

Last year, PM Najib gracefully launched 10 billion units of Amanah Saham 1 Malaysia (AS1M) which is open for ALL Malaysians to subscribe. 1st year declared dividend which was paid out in Oct 1st, 2010: 6.38 sen. So happy lah! My friend, I get no discount whatsover when I bought my apartment. No lucky me!

Campus in S'pore and lectures at Sunway; where then will your base be? Don't tell me you'll be flying up and down weekly. I hate waiting at the airport, it's such a waste of time!

At least I got 50% right this time. Ok, this final time of guessing, you are YORUBA. If I'm wrong, forget it. Nigeria has over 300 tribes and this regular Jane here has little patient to guess guess guess. BTW, I know what your hobby is - share market. Don't be greedy Sir, Chinese proverb says: easy money come, easy money go.

A typical Nigerian hates the cold lol. You know how hot Malaysia is, I prefer to stay indoor. The coldest so far I've experienced is in Cape Town, 3 layer of clothes (excl. the bra) and I was still shivering like mad. No joke, my mouth was trembling like I was speaking in tongue!

From Perak. The town that gets the highest rainfall in Malaysia.

Big property investor ke? Your score: 0% (You'll be shocked if I tell you. I never once claimed to be a who's who like Wanaj0.)

The lower the inflation the better for all the regular Joe and Jane in Malaysia. Don't you dare coming to my beloved country to speculate like George Soros who almost killed our economy as claimed by Dr. Mahathir in the late 90s. Don't touch my EPF, too.

A Joint Management Body (JMB) is a committee consisting of the developer and purchasers of strata-titled property which have been elected in the AGM to run their common property. Basically we are duty bound with powers to maintain, enforce house rules, collect funds & charges, pay bills and etc. all of which fall under the Building & Common Property Act of Malaysia. I’m one of the 10 JMB members. It’s a voluntary work, we don’t get paid except for a small allowance for attendance. My committee is active and doing a real FINE job taking care of our apartment.

You must be a banker or some sort of a stock broker if my guess is right. Tribe wise an Edo. What’s my score?

All this while I opted to continue contributing 11% instead of 9% for my EPF. The employer’s statutory contribution remains unchanged at 12%. I don’t trust insurance company, so EPF is my only source of retirement savings for old age.

Why you say I have a number of Najia friends? Who are they, how come I don't them? No, I don’t. I only have a Naija cyber friend.

Malay is quite a simple language to learn for beginners. My friend, you must be thick skinned to learn language fast lah! Don’t mind una laugh out loud, you open mouth speak Malay like Naija pidgin. I just got back from a JMB meeting not long ago. My president is a senior banker and he was telling us something similar to the effect of what you were saying about the pay, debts, cost of living, property investment, tighthening of mortgages, election next year, and etc. Guess what, he is on your side. I was just listening and didn't say anything about what I heard from you. Damn, I lose this time. Mr. Wanaj0, I owe you an apology.

Why crying foul now?  Who persuaded you to come to Malaysia?  Who misinformed you that you could come and work here legally without fuss?  You want an inflated lifestyle, foreign car + $1000 rent, and now you're pleading for help cos you are in debt.  A typical wrongdoing of a Naija hustle.

If your status is illegal in Malaysia, you are going to have problem leaving KLIA even if you have an airticket now.  Go to the Nigerian Embassy for help and ask your folks back home to send you money for your airticket.

It's too late to point finger for your misfortune now.

Let me explain - By "doing fine" I mean we are able to cope with our finances and at the end of the day, there's no lacking in our basic needs.  Got that!

Sabah and Sarawak are still under-developed, this I know, which is why they live such simple lives and are laid-back people.  Generally speaking, when we talk about Malaysia, we are referring to things and people residing in Peninsular Malaysia cos this is the familiar environment we know of.

Let me guess, you're Igbo.  Igbos are mostly Christians and business minded like the Chinese.  Their main concern in life is to make money and make more and more money.  Now, why is wrong with you that you don't naturally like food, I pity you o!  What's the meaning of working hard and saving all the $$$ for WHO?  Sir, remember me when you do your will.  I shall happily eat on your behalf. cheesy  Oh yes, we dey love our food, it's in our genes to work hard and eat just as hard.

Your regular Jane here doesn't drink, smoke and gamble.  Don't believe me, ask my Maker!  The late Uncle Lim the founder of Genting Highlands had given up in trying to win my 10 Ringgit.

See, you are talking big again!  Who gives you the idea that everybody in Malaysia is playing golf.  Far from it.  Tiger Woods ain't my idol.  Golf is 100% not my cup of tea lah! Soooooooooooooooo boring.  Can't blame you for wanting to join the rich and famous.  Haven't you said enough the pay is low in Malaysia, the lowly paid people don't play golf.   grin

MM2H ain't attractive to you.  See the mouth bragging!  I bet you've not saved enough to meet the minimum financial proof just yet.  What's your defense?

Oga Wanaj0

Now I see your problem! You as an expat is bringing home $$$ in either USD or EURO, how can you possibly compare MYR pay with those big currencies? Not fair at all. Our $$$ signs are different hence we see things in a different level too. You are a patron in an air-con restaurant while this regular Jane here is quite happy slurping her bowl of curry mee in an open-air kopitiam. grin That's how we stretch our monthly budget, no wahala see!

My friend, you don't give up do you, I think you have emphasised enough that pay is low in Malaysia? Give us a break, at least we don't blame the British for our woes. Once again Sir, THE MAJORITY OF US ARE DOING JUST FINE! The percentage of people going to Alongs to pay their bills is not a national concern as far as I know, we don't need debt restructuring like Ireland.

Let's remain anonymous. It's more fun, this way. Aiyah, I don't like fish lah (except ikan bilis), they are too pungent for my liking. I got fish bone stuck in my throat when I was little so now I avoid fish like the plague.

Hey, many Naija peeps in this forum are talking about returning home for retirement, what say you? I think you should consider taking the "Malaysia My Second Home" option lah. Our belacan is just too delicious for you to leave behind. grin Then again, expats don't normally stay permanently in one place. Do you know Koreans are flooding Malaysia like they have found hidden gold which Malaysians have no clue of? Now that AirAsia is flying there, you will see more Korean restaurants sprouting around KL soon.

Saw your post in the thread once and then it got disappeared. So I went and searched for it in your profile. Smart, kan!

I was in Sabah two months ago for the very first time and heard from the locals that pays there are minimal but the cost of living is much higher than in Peninsular Malaysia. Rents are high and food are expensive. This I don't deny it.

Abeg, I was comparing cities like Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta with KL. Squarters are littered around those cities, KL is by far still the best which is why you are here, admit it! The fact that you are staying in Mont Kiara tells me you are doing way better than me, good for you. Keep it up! Naija Boleh!

Indeed household expenses have gone up quite a bit over the years and those in the lower income group are finding it hard to make ends meet. I personally have not experienced much impact cos I don't need much to live. Your lifestyles and mine are different, I'm VERY contented and yet not a Malay.

Your staff must have tryna save some money and insured her car less than the market value. Now she's paying for it. Another possibility is that her car was repossessed by the bank because of her inability to service her loan up to date and she's too ashamed to tell the truth.

Didn't any of your colleagues here tell you that it's common for Malaysians to take loans for long-term payables; which is why our banks are doing fantastic job of netting profits which go up, up to the sky! But most loan-takers can still pay back, no problem lah! Our NPL is manageable, don't be so negative (biku), have more confident in our Malaysian economy.

So good to see both of you back in action. Allow me to sit back and get FOC tutorials!
BTW, I'm a Malaysian and have yet to step foot on Lagos soil. Sorry Akimate, I can't contribute much except to read and nod whenever Snoopy replies you. This guy knows what he is talking about.

Let me be blunt with you, are you sure your intended project on waste and recycling collection and transportation is currently feasible in Lagos via the BRT line? In theory yes but in practice, hmmm, provided the link between the residences and the BRT collection stops is filled by some other carriers such as cart pushers/bikers/truck drivers but definitely not by individuals.

How many of us will personally carry a bag of recycled junk to the designated BRT stop? grin The farthest we go is the garbage dump closest to our homes. (A layman talking here!)

As regards linking this thread to other section, can't give you any suggestions, bro, I'm not a very active forumite myself. Any idea, peeps?

This is in reply to Wanaj0's missing post.

I’m not being defensive. I live in KL, I mingle with people around me and all of them are doing just fine even with their mortgages. Yes, we often criticise our government this and that but deep within us, we are grateful that we are fairing much better than our neighbouring countries like Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia. Tell me, how many squatter areas have you seen in KL?

If we are indeed living in debts like you so claimed, at least many of us have a roof over our heads and a car to drive around and are responsible enough to pay our bank instalments.

There’s no doubt we have the poor and over-spent people among us. I agree with you the pay for factory workers/labourers sucks. Part-timers are being paid peanuts like RM5 per hour. For desk jobs, you gotta find your niche and work your way to get the best deal preferably from a multinational company.

Now back to your question, economically speaking, PAY and DEBT are very much related to one’s standard of living (SOL), abi no be so?
My simplified explanation: Got $, SOL >; No $, SOL <. So don’t worry about us, right now we can still afford to pay our "Wanaj0" debts.

I've noticed Naija peeps like to exaggerate and make a big deal out of small matters. Yes, we have a small percentage of Malaysians (esp. in the professional fields) leaving our shore to work elsewhere, nothing wrong with that so long as they have legal employment and are happy where they are.

Our average pay may not be high in comparison with other countries but overall, I would say our standard of living is quite good. See how far we are ahead of Nigeria in the Human Development Index below. I guess this explains why some Naija hustlers are coming over to seek greener pasture.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index:
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a comparative measure of life expectancy, literacy, education and standards of living for countries worldwide.
Malaysia: 57
Nigeria: 142

How many of us who came out of schools/colleges/universities can afford to buy our car or home in cash? We are not a cash society like Nigeria. At least our banks are actively extending loans for mortgages and hire purchase financing to average earners like me.

BTW, I'm not a doctor or an engineer. I can't even boast of having a college degree. But I don't owe any $ for my credit cards. I'm in fact debt free, home and car are full settled. Hard work and smart brain pay off my debts. We have a saying here so long as you are not lazy, a decent living is easily within reach for any Malaysian.

You're not being truthful here. Who says most Malaysians are living in debts? Yes, cars are rather expensive here but most average earners can still afford to own at least a Malaysian made car. I won't consider taking a hire purchase financing as living in debts cos so long as we are working, there is no problem for us paying off our bank instalment within the agreed duration. Time flies when you work, so before you know it 5 years is behind you like a blink of an eye.

I don't think you want to be a factory worker, do you? Surely you can do better than that.

Last, I can assure you quite a few of us are doing better than the so-called banker that you often quote to justify the low-paying jobs in Malaysia. We may not be rich but we live quite comfortably here.

^^^ Do you know the difference between Korea (both North and South) and China or a Korean and a Chinese (aka chinaman)?
I see nothing wrong with the poster addressing himself as a "brother" when seeking advice/info in a friendly way.
Geez, stop writing nonsense if you don't have anything to contribute!
