What is the immigration rules and what's the best visa to come up with and stay and hustle, I heard that student visa is the best but they hardly give Nigerians visa* because of settings things which I don't know***

An agent said I should pay him 2.2 Million naira for him to process visa for me* just a tourist visa and a work will be waiting for me once I get there*

Please NL living in SK please we need your contribution let's hear what you think about the country and which city is less expensive once one get there,

What is the language barrier, can you find does who speak English for then main time still you learn how to speak Korean*

So sometime in December 2019, we received an email from our school about an available scholarship for Nuclear Engineering Masters Student. You can assess the fund if you will be staying in France (so automatically, the Erasmus guys are exempted from applying). The fund is from EDF (EDF is the france Nuclear electric power generation company). However, there was a clause in the email asking those who currently have scholarship not to apply for the fund .

I guess they didn't know who they are talking to . Me that is looking for money from all angles. A lot of people are waiting for our arrival and aside that, one don't need to return back with certificate and pictures alone. Certificate you don't even know if you will be using soon with the level of nepotism in the country.

So when I read the email and the part that said we shouldn't apply if we are currently on scholarship, I did my ear as if I am a swineherd (she must be hitting hand in a tipper fully loaded with sand, Mrphysics can't and won't miss this opportunity). Recall, we are two Nigerians in our class, so we both decided to apply . The worst case scenario is being rejected but it is much better to apply and get rejected than not applying and forever living with the guilt of not knowing what would have happened if we applied.

So we came back and decided to put up a nice application, telling them why we need the fund even though we have a scholarship , we gave them 101 reason while we need the scholarship and thank God the assessment is done in our school before sending the selected awardees to EDF and the lady making the assessment already knew we are on PTDF Scholarship (Because the Nigerian government is the only government that pays the complete tuition fee for NE, 24k euros, so they see us as coming from a rich country and would want to win more souls to the school).

So last week, on Tuesday to be precise, we received a congratulatory message that we have been selected for the scholarship and that I would be awarded 4000 euros. They requested us to sign an acceptance document and also to forward our account number. The other guy got almost same amount 3000 euros. I think both of us got the highest amount.

I nearly went to price our residential building . Free money is the sweetest, no exams, no interview, just simple application and N1.5m just landed like that. This is surely a win to my guys in Ogbete main market Enugu .

So guys, get your knife, wash your hands and let's celebrate this.

Okay, so I wanted to get my girlfriend an iPhone xr, I ended up getting her an iPhone x mas. I hope she loves it. I'll have to lodge in a beautiful hotel, and buy lots of red flowers and red candles and set it up. I'll make it very warm and nice for her, she deserves it by the way, also I don't care if we break up tomorrow the money I spent can easily be gotten back.

Personally, what I know is that one must have atleast an upper degree, however, I am sure some applied with a lower degree and got it.

If you have a powerful Statement of Purpose, a panel of sane people should be able to overlook your class of degree.

Na admission proper I get o and na Vilnius University. But if you dey look for scholarship, try VGTU, they have tuition waivers for non EU/EEA students. PM me make I reason you some info on how to 'WOW' them.

1. I cannot really give a definite answer to your question. What you should bear in mind is that you are competing with other candidates from your state. So you see why i can't give an answer because you don't know what other persons from your state are presenting. However, i know of a person who got it without a publication.
This is my honest advise to you: Prepare a draft of your bachelor's degree thesis and send to an international journal. If you are lucky it gets published on time, then use the published document. If it isn't published but you are sent an acceptance letter from the journal, print out the acceptance letter.
As for award/honors, it doesn't have to be a national award. Any academic, research or scientific award can serve... even if it is best graduating student or recognition from a conference.

2. As for age restrictions, i can't really tell. Though some institutions would say an MSc candidate should not be more than 30years. As for PTDF i can't say for sure. I can find out later.

3. If you are asked for an admission letter then it only means one thing. I am sure you already have the answer yourself.
For PhD candidates, if you eventually pass the interview (that is if you are called) then it is advisable you start looking for a supervisor immediately.

Why not ask your questions on this platform and receive your response? This is important because anyone who reads the thread in subsequent years will actually benefit from it.

Truth is there is no rocket science in getting the scholarship. Aside the favour of God involved, your ability to be smart and paying attention to minute details matters alot.

Second truth is... If you are waiting to get a sample Statement of Purpose, then i must frankly say that it is the beginning of failure. There is nothing as noteworthy and important as formulating the statement of purpose in your own words and your own experience. This is because in months to come, you can clearly defend what you have written because it typically embodies you.
1. You should be familiar with PTDF's vision and core mandates. Try to build your SoP around these mandates (Very Helpful).
2. Specifically mention what you intend to accomplish during studies. Focus on your strengths.
3. Be sure to state how the knowledge gathered from the studies can be applied in solving real problems; not really pertaining to oil and gas.
4. DO NOT for any reason mention that you hope to get a good job abroad after studies to practise what you have learnt.
5. It will be beneficial to state that you are looking forward to diversifying... meaning while focusing on your studies, you wouldnt mind acquiring other skills (mention these skills).
6. One of the mandate of PTDF is human capital development. so you are expected to show command of good level of leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving capabilities.

Finally like i always tell people, focus on building yourself. Truth is whether you are for MSc or PhD, three things should stand you are - Academic Qualification, Publications, and Awards and Membership of Professional Bodies. Not everyone would have a First class honours, but while someone with a first class might have a little advantage, a fellow without a first class honours can be chosen ahead of the first class (Trust me, i am not bluffing)!
My point is, do not lay all emphasis on the statement of purpose and forget other very important areas.

I was randomly scrolling through nairaland in march this year when i saw the advert for this years uk scholarship. I decided to apply since it wont cost me anything but data. I was shortlisted for interview and also made the final selection. I am currently pursuing my msc in the uk in one of the best universities in the world, just because of a split second decision i made in applying. The scholarship is legit, and the selection process was merit based. I will advise anyone interested to apply and not be skeptical and hope for the best. They wouldnt have called for applications if the funding for sponsoring the scholars isnt available.Your flight, visa processing, fees and stipends will be taken care of by the scholarship. In our case, they even paid for priority visa processing. All the best.
