With Echiejile playing like this,Taiye Taiwo will NEVER play for the eagles again,i.e barring any injuries to Echiejile. There was a time I loathed Mikel for shunning Nigeria, but now he's my second favourite eagles palyer, after Osazee and if I see anybody beefing Mikel again, the person will have me to contend with. Enyeama showed great composure and confidence(see the way he rushed the ball from the Zambian keeper,as if to say sebi you don score me,oya gimme the ball make I score you back one time if you tink say na only you sabi score )Obasi and Yakubu were uselesss |

vislabraye:Agreed CEOs are rotatted and their tenures can be pegged;normally BUT NOT BY THE CBN,it's purely a shareholders' decision, but because Nigeria is a lawless country,Sanusi can pull stunts like these and get away with it,what makes the situation unfortunate is that the affacted CEOs have soiled hands and are afraid that should they challenge the decision in court or even breathe an atom of dissent in the media(did you see Elumelu's interview in Thisday yesterday, dude was sounding like Sanusi's PR man),then vintage vindictive Sanusi will open their rofo rofo can of worms |
Stoke can win the FA cup for all we care, but we'll see who'll be laughing by May Watch this space |
Bin Laden Calls AbdulMutallab a ‘Hero’ Osama bin Laden has claimed responsibility for the failed Christmas day attack on a United States airliner last year by Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, a Nigerian, describing him as a “hero”. Bin Laden;, who is believed to be hiding in the mountains between Pakistan and Afghanistan went on to promise further strikes on US targets, in an audio message broadcast yesterday. But reacting to the statement, the White House said he was a "cowardly murderous thug" and expressed hope that he would be brought to justice. Bin Laden’s brief statement, carried by Al-Jazeera satellite television, warned Washington that the failed attempt on a Detroit-bound Northwest/Delta airliner carried a message similar to the September 11, 2001 attack in New York. AbdulMutallab tried to detonate explosives aboard the plane when it was approaching Detroit. His device malfunctioned and he was over-powered by other passengers. "The message that was conveyed through the (attacked) plane of the hero Umar Farouk is to stress earlier messages delivered to you by the heroes of the 11 September attack, he said. "That (message) is that America should not dream of security until we enjoy it as a reality in Palestine," he added. The authenticity of the statement could not immediately be verified, said AFP, but Al-Jazeera said the voice was bin Laden's. "Had we been able to deliver our messages to you in words, we would not have sent them by planes," the statement said. "It is not fair that you (America) enjoy a good life while our brothers in Gaza endure the worst standard of living. Therefore, God willing, our attacks against you will continue as long as you maintain your support to Israel,” it added. “I think everybody in this world understands that this is somebody that has to pop up in our lives over an audiotape because he's nothing but a cowardly, murderous thug and terrorist that will someday, hopefully soon, be brought to justice," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told Fox News in an interview. Justifying the decision to charge Abdulmutallab as a criminal defendant and not treat him as an enemy combatant, Gibbs said the move was made by the Justice Department and the FBI, with experienced FBI interrogators. “Make no mistake. Abdulmutallab was interrogated and valuable intelligence was gotten as a result of that interrogation,” he said, responding to charges that his interrogation by high-value interrogation group would have yielded better results. "He was interrogated. Valuable intelligence was gotten based on those interrogations. I think the Department of Justice made the right decision, as did those FBI agents," Gibbs said. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) had claimed responsibility for the plane attack and analysts said bin Laden through his latest statement is stressing that he is still in control of the network worldwide. Intelligence officials, military analysts and other experts have long believed he is holed up along the remote mountainous border between Pakistan and Afghanistan and have hinted that groups such as AQAP could be operating autonomously. Washington has accused AQAP of training Abdulmut-allab, who spent some time in Yemen. The US administration is putting pressure on Yemen to clamp down on Al-Qaeda militants in the impoverished country and an international meeting to discuss militancy in Yemen will be held on January 27 in London. British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said in London yesterday that the foiled Christmas day attack marks a "new phase" in Al-Qaeda's campaign against the West. "The heart of the Al-Qaeda senior leadership remains on the Afghan/Pakistan border," Miliband said. "But there is a real issue in Yemen -- the fact that Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula should have tried to strike in Detroit marks a new phase in the campaign and that's why there's an important meeting in Yemen on Wednesday,” he added. Yemen's government has intensified its campaign against Al-Qaeda, launching waves of air strikes on the extremists' hideouts, and insists it can battle the group on its own, without any foreign military intervention. Sanaa stopped granting visas to foreigners at airports last Thursday in a bid to curb a feared inflow of militants, believed to be training with Al-Qaeda. Earlier this week, the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee released a report warning that AQAP might be training as many as three dozen Americans who converted to Islam in prison. Intelligence reports have pointed for some time at Yemen as the new hub for Al-Qaeda fighters as pressure increases on them in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Director of the US National Counterterrorism Center Michael Leiter told lawmakers last September that Yemen could become a base for Al-Qaeda to train and plot anti-US attacks. Analysts believe that the problems facing Yemen, including a Shiite rebellion in the north, secession bid in the south, and poverty, create a perfect environment for Al-Qaeda to thrive. Bin Laden who has a 50-million-dollar bounty on his head, last made a public statement four months ago when he was quoted on September 25 by SITE Intelligence Group monitoring service as urging European countries to withdraw their forces from Afghanistan. US intelligence chiefs last Wednesday admitted that they missed a slew of warning signs that should have prevented the attempted airline attack. A Federal Grand jury in the US has indicted 23-year-old Abdulmutallab on six counts. He pleaded not guilty at a court hearing. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=164989 |
As for Fabianski,he's such a disgrace he should NEVER dorn the Arsenal jersey |
I wonder if this is Arsene's way of telling us to stop complaining about his youth policy, did he have to give us two grand fathers in defence?I was shocked when he acquired Silvestre,as if one grand father in our defence was not bad enough,he went a symetric balance by acquiring Sol Campbell;another grandfather on the right. The second and third goals were purely the fault of Campbell;who couldn't jump high enough to head the ball clear(as a result of his pot belly)for the second goal, and he couldn't go in with a sliding tackle to prevent the cross that led to the second goal(he's quicker at rubbing tanning oils on the bootys of biitches than in making tackles) AW the window is still open,do the needful to add steel to our defence, midfield and attack(a player each in these departments is what we need) |
Our target is the EPL and UEFA |
Sagamite:He lacked belief,was shocked they won,MUGU won ![]() |
Algeria sends CIV packing, chei Yaya T is going back home Muki kpele |
^^^ Yes oooo |
^^^ We will,we should keep it compact in all departments and win by a slim goal margin. Bottomline:Let's not over-exert ourselves as we're gonna have a run of crunchy EPL fixtures immediately after this tie |
The obvious target is Tony Elumelu.Jim Ovia had even planned to resign last year, but had to shelve the idea as he got wind that the CBN was about to sack some bank MDs and he didn't want people to mistake his resignation for a Sanusi sack. The man is quite relieved |
yuppydon:This is a pure case of blackmail.Of course Elumelu knows he can challenge the decision in court and will most likely get ba favourable decision, but he'd rather not as he knows how vindictive Sanusi is.Sanusi who knows some shady deals Tony had pulled especially while they were together will most definitely open a can of worms that will embarrass Tony to high heavens, this is why Tony immediately appointed Oduoza to succeed him Too bad that the nations apex bank has been reduced to this Shame on you Sanusi |
Do you mean an ex-call girl or an active one ![]() |
