philip0906:I am not a barca fan,the fact remains that on the night Chelski SUCKED BIGTIME Let's see how y'all fare in the reverse fixture,I'm actually hoping you beat barca at the bridge so we can have our revenge over ur ass in the finals after we dispatch the scummies SHOULDA TOLD YA SOONA,I'M A GOONER |
Tonight I have been told a new definition of BORING Chelski SUCKED throughout the game, resorting to play like a championship side, thowing men behind the ball. The trick worked for them but I wonder why they played so deeply defensive, abi na fear of barca I wonder if they'll resort to the same tactics at the bridge, they are bound to come out and attack,at least let's see a semblance of attacking football to make it worth watching, instead of to have to doze off four times during the game like I did today |
Times like these are not the best to change your CBN governor So if it's true, irrespective of who may have influenced the decision,it will have to be one of the soundest judgements baba go slow, baba clueless has ever made since grabbing the presidency |
[flash=200,200][/flash] I'm sure ma boys're gonna do more than shoot holes in y'all crest ![]()

~Sauron~: ![]() ~Sauron~:That is so acidically true Klinsmann's misadventure at Bayern is a classic example of how to be a shitty coach in a stupid club |
MrCrackles:Yea,I've always felt Otmar's a very good coach that could easily be compared to Prof Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson The sacking of Klinsmann is good riddance |
MAN UTD AND LIVERPOOL WAR OF WORDS Rafa's latest exchange: ''We're the better side'' Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has claimed he is the only one to have stood up to Sir Alex Ferguson and says that Liverpool are ''the better side'' in this year's title race. GettyImages Fergie and Rafa: Had a few run-ins The Anfield chief has been involved in a tit-for-tat battle with his Old Trafford rival since the turn of the year as the pair scrap for the Premier League title and, on Monday, Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee claimed the club were not interested in exchanging words with United. However, despite Benitez insisting he is not involved in a verbal conflict with Ferguson, the Spaniard once again spoke of his top-flight foe, telling Madrid-based paper ABC: "I'm not having a battle of words with Alex Ferguson. But I believe that he can see that we are the better side, and that we are very close to United. "He has been accustomed to playing these types of mind games for many years. "Nobody has ever said anything against him, or stood up to him. It seems like he has a licence to do these sorts of things. "I try not to talk too much. But all I do when I speak is to defend my own team. I did not say that he seems frightened. I said that he looks nervous, as he can see that we are very close to his team." Benitez, who saw his side drop points in Tuesday's 4-4 draw with Arsenal, also thinks that a first title in 19 years is still a possibililty despite the champions opening up a three point gap (with a game in hand) in midweek. He added: "It is essential for us to try to keep the pressure on United. We must not slacken off, and if we keep going that will make them feel under pressure. "They have an advantage and if they don't slip up there is nothing we can do. But we must stay as close to them as possible in case they slip up. "In any case, we will go after the title as long as it is still a possibility for us." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=640001&sec=england&cc=3888 Oya,reactions ![]() |
follypimpi:This present manure squad does not have the formula to stop the Arsenal, hence Alex Fergz was in the stands today |
I kind of feel sorry for Boro though,e pele There're only two teams I'll be only too happy to see relegated from the EPL (1)Hull (2)Tottenham Not boro, not newcastle ![]() |
follypimpi:I agree Alex Ferguson may choke the midfield, but I don't think they'll man-mark,the Arsenal is a very fluid team,it's really difficult to expect to man-mark any of our players and hope to do any damage via that. Manure get ready to be stopped in your tracks ![]() Like play like play |
Game over Arsenal 2 Boro 0 A decent performance from the GUNNERS,two good runs and strikes from Fab4 |

By Kunle Adeyemi Published: Monday, 20 Apr 2009 Bandits operating in and around Lagos are now concentrating their attention on residential buildings, eateries and shopping malls. Robbers shift attention to residences, shopping malls Apparently, they have shifted away from the daring raids on banks that once made visiting banking halls a high risk venture. Recent incidents of armed robbery in the state show that the robbers may have noticed the security laxity around residential areas, which they are now exploiting. In the recent past, the attention of men of the under world in the state was centred on commercial areas, especially banks, bureaux de change and similar business premises. But it appears that the fortification of such business premises with security men and more sophisticated gadgets has repelled the criminals. Our correspondent observed that the latest trend in armed robbery within the state is for the bandits to lay an ambush for a late entrant into a targeted compound. Once their prey either gets down from his car to open the gate or someone from within does that for him, the robbers will emerge from their hiding places and swoop on the residents. Another dimension is for the robbers to besiege a residential building by scaling the fence in the early hours of the morning (between 12 midnight and 4am). It has also been observed that sometimes, the thieves visit their victims in the early evening (between 4 and 7pm) and gain entry by simply following a resident into the compound. For instance, last week’s attack on the veteran photo journalist, Mr. Sunmi Smart-Cole, was carried out by some hoodlums, who were suspected to have lurked around his house before his arrival about 11.20pm on the day of the incident. Also, on Saturday, about 2.30pm, a gang of robbers besieged a supermarket (name withheld) on Randle Road, Apapa. It was learnt that immediately the bandits entered the supermarket, a distress call was sent to the police. A team of anti-robbery policemen from Apapa Police Station responded to the call and reportedly had an encounter with the robbers. After the brief gun duel, one of the robbers was arrested with bullet wounds, but he died shortly after his arrest. The police, it was learnt, recovered one double-barrelled gun, 16 pieces of live ammunition and an unregistered Fenco motorcycle from the scene of the encounter. Although the robbers were said to have earlier taken everybody at the supermarket hostage, their sinister motive was eventually foiled by the police. Similarly, on the same day, about 9.45pm, a gang of bandits besieged a residential building on Bayo Olumide Street, Isolo, Lagos and unleashed terror on the residents. While the robbery was going on, the police at Isolo were alerted to the situation and the divisional police officer in the area led some of his men to the scene. It was gathered that as soon as the robbers noticed the presence of the police in the area, they began to shoot into the void in a bid to escape. The policemen responded and there ensued a gun battle between the robbers and the security agents. During the encounter, most of the robbers managed to escape except one who was so unlucky. He was hit by bullet and he died a few minutes after he was captured. After the shootout, the police said they recovered one locally-made pistol and 12 rounds of live ammunition from the dead suspect. Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Frank Mba, confirmed the Saturday incidents to our correspondent on Sunday. He said both cases had been referred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, for investigation. Mba, a superintendent of police, advised Lagosians to be more security conscious and be alive to unusual happenings and movements in their areas. Punch |
