After all the huffing and puffing by the almajiris in the north who are responding to promptings by the national head of boko haram, malam depotihadu buhari to riot, all will calm down and NOTHING WILL CHANGE AS PER THE RESULT OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

President Jonathan has instructed the army hierachy to assist the police in that regard,so if the i.diotic almajiris refuse to go back into the bushes from whence they came out, surely they'll pay with their lives AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN

So it's all huff and puff

But those inflated figures from the SE and SS are very scary!
Away with your wild allegation
Those areas are not transit points like Lagos or Kano, where most of the registered voters were prolly people that were just in Lagos on transit to/from other states or  to/outside Nigeria or indeed apolitical bankers, engineers, lawyers, doctors, civil servants or other people who make up the population of Lagos and who reside in Lagos just for reasons of work.

In my own polling station(in a primary school),we had eight polling booths with registered number of voters put at over 14,000,you needed to see the crowd on Saturday.Initially in the morning,it was just a few of us and our supporters that got there first, but as the morning wore on,the centre became a carnival zone.I was regularly in touch with my compadres in Bayelsa and Rivers and I was told the story was the same as was in Delta,so which inflated figures are you talking ofhuh

The electios have been won and lost and I'm personally too tired now to engage in any brick-bats(not that they'd change anything),I need to rest a bit and face my business

THE RESULTS AT A GLANCE

PoliticsRe: Official Results Of Presidential Election: By INEC by rasputinn(m): 6:45am On Apr 18, 2011
Ladies and gentlemen, this is to announce that I am back to Lagos now from my electoral duties in Delta State. What a hectic four days it has been.

Well, thank God we(all true patriots and lovers of Nigeria) were able to deliver our votes for the only genuine candidate in the race,GEJ

Thank you Nigeria for voting GEJ

I hope by now, those BB noisemakers on nairaland have learnt their truthful but bitter political lessons;especially that in a secular and multi ethnic country like Nigeria, any candidate that presents himself as a regional champion will bite the dust, amongst other lessons

Most importantly,I hope they've now learnt that elections are NEVER won by the volume of rants or abusive posts made on online fora or social media network AS MAJORITY OF THOSE RANTERS EITHER DO NOT VOTE OR INDEED THEY HAVE PAPERWEIGHT POLITICAL VALUE WITH NO SUPPORTERS OF THEIR OWN THAT THEY CAN MOBILISE FOR THEIR CANDIDATES

Finally,I hope the losers will have the good sense to concede defeat so Mr President-Elect,GEJ can settle down to business ASAP

GOD bless Nigeria

@OP

Just ignore the rants of the pro-weeping Buhari goons on this thread.

I mean it aint no rocket science,Pa Awolowo predicted that someday,an Ijawman would be president of Nigeria(refer to my post above),since that time in '83,GEJ is the first Ijaw man to be president of Nigeria,so anyone who thinks that is not a fulfilment of Awo's prophecy must be so incredibly dubious or daft.

Please let's discourse/argue more with facts rather than led our emotions derail us into the lane of intellectual abyss
PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan Is The Fulfillment Of Awo's Prophecy by rasputinn(m): 5:55pm On Apr 14, 2011
At one of his final campaign rallies in 1983,the late sage,Pa Obafemi Awolowo, predicted thus"an Ijaw man will be president of Nigeria before long".
GEJ's presidency is thus the fulfillment of that prophecy.QED

At least we aint talking about prophecies from just any rabble rousing fake pastor here.

Angered by this prophecy, amongst other wicked sectional reasons,Buhari no sooner had he stolen power at gunpoint on Dec 31 1983, than he prroceeded to arrest and humiliate Obafemi Awolowo by invading his Apapa residence with soldiers, seized his passport and proceeded to jail UPN governors(who by the way were the best performing governors of the time)under the pretext of fighting corruption, while offensively corrupt northern politicians where scarcely touched. So many of the jailed UPN governors were to take ill tragically that they all but died in Buhari's prisons,a good case in point here is the very refined, highly performing and highly loved Prof Ambrose Alli, the former UPN governor of the then Bendel state. The list goes on and on

Buhari is evil,he is anti-democratic

Vote for a democrat, the only democrat contesting for presidency is Goodluck Jonathan.
Buhari has been and still is anti-democratic,his very words and actions have not changed from that despotic posture
From the failed unholy gang-up between Buhari and Tinubu,it's obvious Ribadu is unsure of himself and Buhari is desperate even as he has nothing to offer,he's just an authoritarian, vengeful and unforgiving bigot, who even refused to sign off on some of his party's candidates he doesn't like,of all the candidates,he has done the most harm to Nigeria and Nigerians,he killed journalists and those accused of drug trafficking(he even had to give retro-active effect to the decree so one particular unfortunate guy could be executed via the decree,he shut media houses and jailed Tunde Thomson and Nduka Irabor for years just for writing about the ills in his government,he pauperised and discouraged entrepreneurs by seizing their goods and forcing themat gun point to sell the remainder at below cost prize

Buhari reminds Nigerians of a past they'd rather forget

Goodluck Jonathan on the other hand represents the Nigerian dream of a strong, developed and democratic country, where anybody can aspire to the highest office in the land irrespective of tribe, religion or the circumstance of their birth.A Nigeria where everybody's vote will count,he has shown that he can be trusted, enough of this Buhari nonsense(a so-called General who went on national TV to weep like a baby just cos he's scared of losing an election,he's a disgrace to the corps of Nigerian army generals)

The thoughts going on in Buhari's mind while he cried FOR HIS OWN FAILURE AND BLEAK FUTURE are numerous

1.He was saying" kai what do I have to do to get power by all means,so even on this third attempt, defeat is staringme in the face, boo hooo hooo"
2.He was regretting ever choosing Bakare as hi running mate, hence he went"Walahi if I had known that this Bakare would be a stumbling block to my alliance with ACN,an alliance that would've minimised the trouncing and electoral failure I'm bound to get on Saturday,I would not have chosen him,I would instead have chosen one of those nairalanders who have shown so much passion in their blind support for me

Now we know why Bakare was saying all that rubbish

" It is very clear now that Bakare is not afterall interested in the so called Change Nigeria he has been trumpeting but merely seeks his own relevance and personal gains. His mantra all along has been that "Buhari is the man preserved by God for this hour". So my question is; if Buhari is the man according to Bakare, why is he now being the stumbling block when a golden opportunity has been presented them on a platter of gold? Maybe he did not hear from God afterall because any slim chance that Buhari could have gotten (though would never be enough to defeat GEJ) has been blown by the prophet Bakare himself because of Ego and self centered interest. Nigerians, he has not even been in the game of politics for up to 4 months and he has already imbibed the greed of wicked politicians. And this is even when he has not tasted the powers and lucre of political office. Tell me what will happen if he eventually gets there? I bet this guy would not want to leave like Gaddaffi and Mubarak. He has already shown the signs early enough that he cannot let go of what has been giving to him in collective trust. Nigerians, is this the kind of person we want at the helm of affairs? Big NO. "

"God has used Bakare's refusal to sign the post dated resignation letter to stop an unholy alliance of two strange bed fellows who were destined to fail. Tinubu was selfishly pushing for this alliance because he wants to be vice president in the alliance. His wife has already been made a senator elect. Jonathan can never act this way. Nigerians, please open your eyes and see through the deceit of these selfish politicians. I am glad that with the collapse of this ACN/CPC alliance, ACN will likely join other parties to mobilise their supporters to vote massively for Jonathan. Jonathan has a Goodluck indeed"

"Although Mr. Bakare had agreed to these terms, he balked when the ACN delegates insisted he signed a post dated resignation letter to seal the deal. He vehemently refused to append his signature to such a document. According to a source, it was at this point that the overnight meeting, which went on till 2am, reached an impasse.

The ACN refused to take Mr Bakare’s word that he will abide by the meeting’s decision. “How else could they make sure that he would not back out later?” said a former governor who was also a facilitator at the meeting.
