Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose during his Presidential declaration claims he is the only person capable of taking out President Buhari in the coming 2019 general elections. Fayose also challenged PDP leaders in the north. He said PDP leaders in the north are afraid of coming out like him to declare their intention of ruling the country. "If there are men in the north, let them come out. What are they afraid of,"Fayose said. Going further, Fayose mocks President Buhari. He said:"I don't have to wait for 6 months like 'Buhari' before I choose my ministers because I know where materials are." Speaking over the menace of headsmen, Fayose said he would use the strategy he employed in Ekiti state to stop their rampage. "I will apply the strategy I used in Ekiti to dislodge herdsmen in Nigeria." The Ekiti state governor also compared himself to a rock, saying whoever challenges him will fall. "Standing before you is peter Ayo Fayose. I am a rock. You know when rock falls on you, you are in trouble,"he said. . In an elaborate ceremony at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja, on Thursday, September 28, the governor said his decision to contest the election is borne put of his love for Nigeria. . The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has said the current Federal Government was unaware that the United States, US, government was monitoring some Ministers who served under the administration of the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan. Addressing State House Correspondents at the Presidential villa, in Abuja, yesterday, Onyeama said the US government was listening to the telephone conversations of some of Jonathan’s Ministers on some “suspicious” investments made in the country. The Minister further noted that the current government was making efforts to recover stolen funds stashed away in foreign countries. “On the issue of how much is stolen from the country, it’s an ongoing thing, we have been discovering all the time because you see the sophistication that there is today in hiding money around the world is amazing, even western countries themselves have a lot of problems and it takes them a lot of time and they discovered about the Panama papers, nobody knew about all those funds illegally stashed until you suddenly have the revelations under the Panama papers. So it’s really an ongoing thing and then new ones coming up all the time. “As you saw recently we never knew about the US eavesdropping on some telephone conversations of members of the previous government and private sectors talking about investments that were made in the United States, it just suddenly came out like that, so it’s an ongoing thing.” . Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, has lambasted Kogi labour leaders, accusing them of rubbishing his government. Bello’s reaction followed the appeal by Kogi workers to President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to send food supplies and other relief materials to them. But Bello through Kingsley Fanwo, his spokesman, accused the workers of making Kogi government appear inhumane. He said the government had been paying workers who have been cleared and verified, “except a few on the clemency list which is being addressed”. “The tyranny of labour’s blackmail and campaign of calumny against government has clearly shown there are some underbelly factors surrounding the industrial disagreement between it and government in the state. “This government has shown transparency and accountability by publishing our accounts and what has been paid to individual worker in the state. No worker has come out to disclaim our facts. “Facts at the disposal of government show that some desperate politicians are playing politics with the destiny of the people of Kogi state, who need the services for which these striking workers are paid. “When we chose to confront the failed system of the past, we had no doubt of the attendant contention with the entrenched forces of retrogression who benefited from the blind corruption of the past. “We have started a process of recovering our looted commonwealth from past leaders. A white paper implementation committee was constituted to recover the loot. But Labour was used to strikes. We shall remain focused in ensuring that we recover every kobo stolen from the coffers of this great state.” He said the previous administration in the state collected allocations running into billions of naira between September and December 2015 but did not “pay a dime to the workers”. Bello alleged that labour went on strike few weeks to inauguration of his administration in an attempt to disrupt it. “We promised a reformed, robust, disciplined, digital and accountable civil service that will oil our New Direction Agenda. This administration is poised to pursue it to a logical conclusion to the benefit of the populace,” he said. “We are not ignorant of the fact that some disgruntled elements are uncomfortable with the digitalization of the civil service operations which will curb truancy and corruption. “As a responsible government, we have never denied owing workers a few months salary. We have paid half of July and we are in the process of paying the balance as well as the August salary. “The need for labour to embrace dialogue stems from the paucity of resources across the nation. It is not peculiar to our state. We are ready to dialogue with labour when they return to work and we hope they will do that in the interest of the good people of Kogi state. “We will be decisive if they remain adamant and continue to go violent on workers who do not believe in their agitation.” . Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state, on Thursday, September 22, urged Nigerians to ask Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s information minister, to stop allegedly peddling utterances that heat up the polity. In reaction, Alhaji Mohammed said Wike was only looking for a way he would react and elevate the governor to a decent human being. “I cannot join words with Wike because doing so would mean elevating him to a decent human being,”the minister, who had continuously ensured Nigerians are kept abreast of issues of national development in relation to the administration of Muhammadu Buhari, . Wike, who spoke during while declaring open the All Nigeria Editors Conference holding in Port Harcourt, said Nigeria was in crisis because of four major challenges which he said are“poor governance, nepotism, marginalization and state-sponsored repression continue to do violence to national unity and cohesion.” Wike’s spokesperson, Simeon Nwakaudu, quoted the governor as urging“all well-meaning Nigerians to call on the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, to stop stoking the embers of disharmony and divisions in the polity with his irresponsible utterances and wild allegations against members of opposition political parties.” The governor said:“We are only pretending we think that all is well with our country. The country is in crisis as poor governance, nepotism, marginalization and state-sponsored repression continue to do violence to nation unity and cohesion. "At times like this, the country needs forthright leadership and consensus building to steer the ship of state from the wrong direction it is headed to safer grounds. "Nigerians of goodwill must therefore call the minister of information to stop stoking the ambers of disharmony and divisions in the polity with his irresponsible utterances and wild allegations against members of opposition political parties.” He added:"For some of us therefore, there is nothing nobler than being counted on this path and as long as God gives us breathe we shall remain in the trenches fighting for our democratic rights and freedoms until victory is ultimately achieved. "But, we also believe that this is a fight that should and must be led by the media for full effect and agenda setting. “This calls for greater vigilance and courage in giving effective voice to the contending issues and taking personal responsibility for factuality. It can’t be otherwise.” . He lamented that despite the monumental achievements of his administration, the opposition in the state has continued to undermine his government with tacit support from the federal government and a politically inclined police. He said:“Therefore, when a supposed opposition goes beyond the bonds of decency in conjuring lies to rubbish and undermine every effort of ours to serve and advance the progress of the state, then the media owes society the duty to investigate and expose their mischievous intentions with the facts at their disposal. "At any rate, those who live in glass houses, they say, should avoid throwing stones. As our representatives in the federal government, are they not responsible for attracting development projects to Rivers state?” An indigene of the state also replied Wike: . Controversial online personality, Daddy Freeze has said no Nigerian Prophet, Pastor or General Overseer, GO, is qualified to receive tithes from their members. Freeze stressed that tithes were only meant for the Levites, who were descendants of Levi, the son of Jacob and Leah and “no one else.” Noting that Levites were not allowed to own properties, including private jets, Freeze claimed that tithes were paid once in every three years, according to the Bible. The On Air Personality, who took to his instagram page, wrote “No Nigerian prophet or pastor or GO qualifies to receive your tithes! “Tithes were only meant for the Levites, who were descendants of Levi son of Jacob and Leah no one else! These Levites are still around in Israel today. “Levites were not allowed to own anything not houses not land or cars and DEFINITELY NOT PRIVATE JETS! “The tithes were only paid once every 3 years in the year of the tithe Deut 14:27; NOT EVERY MONTH! “Only 10% of the tithe was meant for the temple Nehemiah 10:38 the rest was meant for the sick, homeless, strangers, widows and orphans NOT PASTORS! “Tithe was never money, IT WAS FOODSTUFF! “Tithe was meant to be eaten with our families in the house of God. “It is biblical to sell your tithe and buy beer and drink in the house of God. Deut 14:26 “Deuteronomy 14:[22] “You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. [23] Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. “This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the LORD your God. “[24] “Now when the LORD your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe. “[25] If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the LORD your God has chosen. [26] When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of food you want—cattle, sheep, goats, wine, beer or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and celebrate with your household. [27] And do not neglect the Levites in your town, for they will receive no allotment of land among you.” . Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said Nigeria is in severe crisis while everyone is living in pretence. Wike said the country was in crisis because of poor governance, nepotism, marginalization and state-sponsored repression which had continued to jeopardize national unity and cohesion. The governor also appealed to all well-meaning Nigerians to call on the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed to stop stoking the embers of disharmony and divisions in the polity with his “irresponsible utterances and wild allegations against members of opposition political parties.” The Governor said this while declaring open the All Nigeria Editors’ Conference holding in Port Harcourt. The governor noted that the clamour for political restructuring, fiscal federalism, State police and guarantee for free and fair elections had never been so determined across the country. He said the calls will never go away, pointing out that it was becoming clearer by the day that to ignore it was pretentiously dangerous to the unity and peaceful co-existence of this country. According to him, “We are only pretending, we think that all is well with our country. “The country is in crisis as poor governance, nepotism, marginalization and state-sponsored repression continue to do violence to nation unity and cohesion. “At times like this, the country needs forthright leadership and consensus building to steer the ship of state from the wrong direction it is headed to safer grounds. “Nigerians of goodwill must therefore call the Minister of Information to stop stoking the ambers of disharmony and divisions in the polity with his irresponsible utterances and wild allegations against members of opposition political parties. “For some of us therefore, there is nothing nobler than being counted on this path and as long as God gives us breathe we shall remain in the trenches fighting for our democratic rights and freedoms until victory is ultimately achieved. “But, we also believe that this is a fight that should and must be led by the media for full effect and agenda setting.
