donfortune48: After obtaining the database, they'll surely try to hear wilder opinions of the drivers before making a decision.
But with these your dashboards and rents you pay in Lekki. They may not need drivers opinions to make decisions again. Cos they'll assume that it's an easy money for the drivers. Since August 2020, have you or any driver you know ever received an official survey about your opinions from LASG? My dashboard and rent is a choice. Just like poverty is a choice. If you choose to live in Ikorodu while having a lower dashboard, what's up with scrutinizing my dashboard? Everyone can make 200k weekly if they Choose to. It's a matter of choice. It's easy money for me because I'm honest to myself and my dreams. I realized that I can't achieve the extraordinary with myself if I condemn my work ethics to what's obtainable out there. If I choose to upgrade my skill set and strategy, how am I responsible for your decision of maintaining low earnings? If LASG can see the database, it therefore means they can see low earners and wondering why they are wasting space. |

donfortune48: Even if you do as an official, they (drivers) will try and find a way to conceal the actual figures, so you don't inflate their taxes.
If they ever contact us and we complain about the low fares, the stress, the hours online that deny us good time with our family and friends, the heavy repairs and insults from riders, they won't met our heavy taxes on us. Even though they have the Chart of our earnings from Bolt's server. Ehailing companies are mandated to provide their database to the government. What are you concealing? |

donfortune48: Shollywendy1 is right bro. Make your research again. You should even know this with just common sense. (no insult).
Last year when I was quite active, anytime I checked my bonus earning at the end of the week, I always notice that my bonus earned that week is even more than Bolt's commission for that week. And they equally rolled out bonuses for riders.
If you do plus and minus of the bonuses bolt gives its riders and drivers every week, you'll know that they don't even taking in up to 50% of their 20% commission in a week. If they pay Lasg govt 10% it simply means they're operating at a loss.
I still remember clearly that they only pay 10% of the 20%. 20naira PA trip and the 25m annual fee. Are all drivers equal? You think all drivers get weekly bonuses? |

donfortune48: Statistics is nothing but numbers. Even with what's on papers, you need to contact the users (Drivers) to know what's truly obtainable. Someone can easily access here and obtain something reasonable.
If you want to post earnings, you're; but say what comes with it.
If it takes you an hr to make 2k, it implies that it'll take you 100hrs to make 200k. That's averagely 14hrs/7days online. And this is exclusive of the time spent setting our or going home after turning off the app. It's also exclusive of the time spent for breakfast, lunch or dinner. These can bring the average hrs per day to 15 or 16hrs. This is not a small fit to achieve.
If you post, also post the average amount spent fixing you car per month. (J have my record of every 1naira I spent on my car for the 2yrs I've been driving). Minus the commissions, minus the money on fuel; so that any novice seeing the dashboard will have a clear knowledge of what's obtainable.
I decided to test myself yesterday, left home 6:30 am, closed 6:30pm and was on my bed @7:30pm. And I made 26k net (after commission). That's 12hrs online. But I'll be misleading a lot of people if I post only the dashboard without saying what comes with it. How would you like to contact 10,000 drivers? |

shollywendy1: The bolded is wrong. LASG charges 10% of the 20% comission which is N60million out of the N600million. Its not wrong. Bolt charges 20% per trip. Lasg owns 10% per trip. Out of that 20%, the govt owns half, 10%. 600m monthly is 300m to lasg govt. deedee44: Permit me to partake in this mid-semester test lol.
1. We stands for those who are against posting of earnings on dashboard.
2. No advantage, everybody has equal rights.
3. Just one reason.. to avoid encouraging government agencies to tax us out of job. No matter how high the tax is, high earners will comfortably pay it but it will be appropriate (my opinion) if the high earners put the fringe drivers into consideration. There are some who make just 25k weekly but if we give government impression that everybody makes close to 200k weekly they might start duplicating their taxes till the 25k guys won't have any reasonable amount to take home after tax.
Conclusion, just a suggestion.. To motivate others, you can invite them to a platform where you're sure it's only the right people you're motivating, or simply tell the house how much you made without posting dashboard, I personally will believe without seeing your dashboard. That way some lazy drivers will be motivated and there will be no concrete data to get government motivated.
Whichever way, personally I don't care much about posting or not posting, but if I am to choose, I will choose not posting based on the above reason Laughs out loud. I knew there was never going to be a succinct fact based reply to the questions posed, but rather, a perambulation of permutations and thinly veiled ignorance presented as "reasons" why forumites cum ehailing drivers should not express their equal rights which includes posting of earnings for fun, or for whatever cogent or non cogent reason they may have for doing so. If that's your only reason, I'm happy to inform you that, that singular reason is total bullshit. The government doesn't need to view a thread on nairaland to inform their decisions. They are neither dumb nor stupid to allow policy decisions bothering on tax revenue to be decided by a few anonymous posters of earnings on nairaland. Let's properly delve into facts. Bolt has about 10,000 drivers. (You don't need to believe me, but if you had made your research, you'd have this information). Applying the 32.5% Nigerian unemployment rate to this figure simply means that 3,250 drivers out of 10,000 are currently out of work. Therefore, I'm very correct to opine that there are 6,750 active bolt drivers driving every week. Hang on to this, for I'm coming back to this info. Are you aware that since August 20th 2020 that ehailing companies and drivers have been working under a new tax policy? According to Part 4.1 subsection 5 of the document titled, ‘e-Hailing Taxi Operation’, all drivers must pay 10 per cent generated on every trip to the Lagos State GovernmentAll operators of e-hailing taxi service must pay the state government 10 per cent service tax on each transaction paid by passengers to the operators,” the document partly read. The new policy also mandates all e-hailing taxi firms to pay N25m yearly to the state government per 1,001 vehicles for an operational licence while they will pay N10m yearly for renewal on every 1, 001 cars in their poolThis implies that the state government will collect taxes, licensing fees and then a percentage from every trip completed on these platformsWhile operators kick against this provision, if it goes ahead to be implemented on August 20, the real losers will be the customers. Uber and Bolt will pass this 10 per cent cost along to end-users, making cab fares more expensive,” according to TechCabalThe state government also makes it compulsory for all ride-hailing services to make their database accessible to the governmentThat was excerpts from the punch... From what you just read above, can you now see that the government already has a database of all our earnings weekly, and that posting them publicly is basically tautlogy? Are you gradually seeing that it's senseless to ask "us" to stop posting earnings? Can you also now see that you're currently paying 10% tax of every trip to the government and that if they increase taxation, bolt will increase fares thereby protecting you? Now let's properly calculate. If there are 6,250 drivers and they make on average 120,000 weekly according to bolt, can you pls calculate 120,000 x 6,250 x 4 weeks ? Before calculating, average here means the total earnings of all drivers divided by 6250, before you remind me that some drivers make 25k weekly.... Again, Lagos State government is fully aware of these calculations as I reminded you earlier that they aren't stupid... 120,000 x 6250 x 4 = 3 billion naira. Out of 3 billion, bolt charges 20 percent of which they give 10% to govt. Therefore bolt charges = 600million naira monthly. Out of 600 million monthly, they remit half to the govt. Therefore, bolt receives 300million naira a month. 300m x 12 months = 3.6 billion naira. Out our this 3.6 billion, they pay 25million yearly and another 60million as per the 10million per every 1001 cars per year. 3,600,000,000 - approx. 90,000,000 = 3.5 billion naira to bolt yearly after everything. Therefore, on your request to stop posting, the answer is no deal. For your 25k weekly drivers, it's either they just stop driving all together or they step up their game. It's their personal decision which should by no means whatsoever, dictate to me what I should, or should not do. I can motivate drivers privately but first, I need to harvest them from this cesspit of lies about ehailing driving. I see that the "we" on this thread want discussions to be centered around their own personal frivolities and excesses which benefits nought, to the general viewing public, intending drivers and intending investors. This is not a game. You either go hard or go home. You either take the heat or get the fvck out of the kitchen. |

When u say unnecessary English, I guess u've got ur own fair of long epistles and I've never for once attack u on it, so why can't u let me b? We all work and chew gum at d same time, so unnecessary English and grammar r allowed just like your first sentence, I do that most time too when I don't have time to proof-read.
The monikers were prior Nairalanders before contest, forced me to check on ur new moniker and I saw 2012, biko how many monikers do u still have in your oven baking? Having different monikers at a go only tells of a questionable and dubious character. Not outrightly saying u are one, but just to tell u logically, ur points sound premediated and holds no weight. I have a moniker of 2006, but it is a matter of convention for me as Mrjaydee outrightly stated and mind pope was generated purely for business purpose as I have taken my private life offline.
I think it's imperative u know I'm not bothered about who wins or not, I'm just stating d obvious people can already relate with, but I guess u need me. Like I said, and will repeat, too much unnecessary English. You like forming hardman, calling me adult baby. If I reply you in the language you understand, you'll run to moderators to get me banned, as usual. You Do indriver and your poor benchmark is 80 - 100k. This was your reality before I posted my earnings and you came to me with stupid English as usual, saying how I'm overworking and how no one needs to make more than 10k a day and how you forget to eat in a day and how you eat gala and lacasera as food, all in a bid to drive home a stupid point of driving job not easy, without of course stating your obvious reality of your low mentality and low standards and approach to life, motivation and hard work. I don't need you, have never done, and will never do. I take it upon myself to correct all and every stupid opinion I come across of which your opinions are always taking the cake. You need to realize that you have a lane which is 80k weekly, and stick to it. When others are maximally pushing themselves to change their situation, you need to shut up make your 80k and watch since you usually have nothing to say, and even when you do, it's comparable to zilch. You were the same idiot that compared me to dangote all in a bid to mock me. Pray tell, how does a low poverty driven mentality oven lighting 80k making individual such as yourself have guts to use dangote as mockery to me? Are you mad or pretending to be mad? If I'm free to go on with my revolution and it's none of your business, why the fvck do you always have the need to refer to the revolution as if you are scared it will relegate to oblivion? Not that you haven't been relegated, you should also shut up and watch. The contest wasn't for low earners. Low earners will have their day, but until then, your opinions about a high earners contest is useless at best and you should eat your humble pie and drink your lacasera as usual. Heck, you might even wait till 4pm to do so. The revolution is about replacing low earners having a conversation about how they sleep with riders, and replace it with high earners who drive for a living and want to be more motivated to do more. I posted with this moniker because weak ineffectual buffoons like you, who feel they have monopoly of veiled insults, got more than they bargained for and ran to the moderators to delete my comments and get me banned. Now the same you, came out to castigate winners of a contest because you couldn't meet up, couldn't be bothered to get facts right, and opined stupidly as usual, on how you feel contest should have gone and who you think should have contested? If you have a moniker of 2006 and I have a moniker of 2012, don't you think it's stupid of you to suggest that I have a dubious and questionable character because I posted with mine and you didn't? That you didn't post with your 2006 moniker makes you a better person without dubious and questionable character? You must be a congenital fool. I have no doubts about that and I've never been wrong on many things. I can have discussions without insults. Insults come factory fitted when I'm having discussions with stupid people who believe it's their right to opine stupidly, and that their stupid opinions should be made law. Run to the mods as usual. It has never stopped me as you well know. |
