my guy seriously I'm frustrated already because many of our colleagues here are cowardice or they are claiming to be law abiding citizens, if not peaceful protest is the most feasible avenue to air our grievances. can you imagine that I invited my state of deployment WhatsApp group to come back to the thread to thrash out issues, the reply I got was "I should write complain letter to DG nysc". if I can even get like 20 people here in abuja then we will match to headquarters which I think will be the most feasible avenue to get the attention of DG himself but no one to back me up... I will never leave my future to fate, I'm going to use all necessary way to get their attention so help me God

Good day mr president, NYSC DG, my fellow nigerians and my fellow NYSC batch A stream 2 prospective corps members, i have a complaint to make, and i will try as much as possible to be brief about it.

I have come to believe that the body called NYSC is a corrupt body, but before i go further, i would like to state the meaning of corruption. The first meaning of corruption is that, according to oxford dictionary ''corruption is a dishonest or fradulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery'', but the one i would like to state is the second meaning of corruption which says that ''corruption is the process by which a word or expression is changed from its original state to one regarded as erroneous or debased'', the NYSC management has been changing everything since the beginning of the year.

It all started last year when the NYSC management postponed the NYSC 2015 Batch A orientation course, on the grounds that the election was on his way, that was understandable, now they brought that same postponement to the door step of the NYSC 2016 Batch A prospective corps members, when they first fixed the date for camping on the 2nd of march 2016, they postponed it to the 30th of march, on the grounds that the Federal Government has not signed the budget, we believe they had good reasons, so we waited till the 30th of march 2016, only to be told that the NYSC orientation course has been postponed to the 27th of april 2016 on the grounds that the federal government has not given them any funds, so we summon courage and became patient, until the 21st of april, when they told us that it is only the stream 1 pcm's that can print out their call up letter, the stream 2 pcm's have to wait till the 13th of may 2016, this has never happened in other years, i stand to be corrected, this is just a fradulent act, but not withstanding, we waited till the 13th of may 2016 only for us to print out our call up letter on the 17th of may 2016, with the hope of going to camp on the 21st of may 2016, we got another shocker of our life that the 2016 batch A stream 2 orientation course has been postponed indefinitely, on the grounds of logistics reasons, we are now afraid now, because after they fix another date, in which they might postpone it and tell us that '' they want to build a new camp for us, and change the old camp because it is archaic, or they might tell us that they want to buy prado jeeps for all the 2016 batch A stream 2 prospective corps members, so that we can be using it when we want to go to our place of primary assigment - PPA, as DG gen kazaure would always say, ''it is for better planning'',
NO NO NO, we cannot continue to agree with the NYSC management, they have failed us, if these excuses does not stop, it might continue in other years to come.

NYSC became a corrupt body when they robbed us of our hard earned money which we used to print our call up letter, some spent more than 500 naira, only for us to be told that we would need to re-print the call up letter again, please are we minting the money? Where do we get the money for that again?

NYSC became a corrupt body when they robbed us of our sleep, we now have sleepless night, too much of thinking.

The NYSC management can only prove that they are not corrupt, if and only if,
1- they fix a permanent date now, and they should never change it again.
2- let their YES be YES, and their NO be NO, we don't need flimsy excuses.
3- we need an official statement from the NYSC Management and the DG himself, apologising to us for the pain and suffering he has caused us.
If this conditions are not met, then NYSC is truly a corrupt body, and President buhari needs to prove to us that he is winning the war against corruption, by setting up a committee to investigate the corrupt pratices going on among the NYSC management, and apply the law on them.
Deceiving the public alone is corruption.

May NYSC want us to go by JULY so that our THREE (3) month ALLAWEE of 50,000 PCM will be shared between them because me as a MUSLIM, am totally against JULY because considering my friends that have resign, taken annual leave and temporary withdrawal of service are in deep pain as we speak. Even personally am tired of sitting at home everyday telling people i will soon go, some people even fine it difficult to understand what is STREAM 1 OR 2 some even call SIM 2. ordered the immediate release of funds for the
mobilization exercise of the 2016 Batch A, stream
11 service year.
This followed the outcry by the Director General of
the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier
General Sule Kazaure that lack of funds might
stall the exercise if nothing was urgently done.
On Monday, Kazaure, while appearing before the
Senate Committee on Youth and Sports, said all
the affected corps members were to remain in
their various homes due to non-availability of
fund arising from N13 billion shortfall in the
agency’s 2016 budget.
Consequently, the government intervened,
approved and released funds to accommodate the
2016 Batch A stream 11 orientation course.
Reacting to the development, the NYSC in a
statement by its Director of Press and Public
Relations, Mrs. Abosede Aderibigbe, commended
the Federal Government for its prompt intervention
to accommodate the corps members.
The statement reads: “Management also wishes
to use this medium to inform and assure
prospective corps members, parents, guardians
and the general public that the 2016 Batch A
stream 11 orientation course holds as scheduled
from Saturday 21st May to Monday, 6th June,
2016 while the swearing in ceremony of the 2016
Batch A stream 11 corps members holds on
Monday, 23rd May, 2016.
“Prospective corps members are by this notice
directed to print their call up letters online and
collect from their various institutions of
graduation.”

For the social life, let me categorically tell u the social life here is practically zero! kebbi is not like Lagos where u carry ur babe to the nearest cool joint or where u buy beer off the streets. ( Though when u get to ur ppa, ur senior corpers will gist u about where and where they get to unwind and get their green bottles, but it's not an open secret every body knows.)
But I think this dearth of social life is compensated for by the general cheap prices of goods in the market

Am a batch A corp member currently serving in Kebbi was posted to birnin Kebbi I remember when I received my posting letter was in shock for days even though I didt cry but was sad anyway came to Kebbi by air, then airnigeria was still functioning got to argungu only to find DAT the camp has been moved to Dankingari had to spend extra 5hr on the road under the hot sun came to camp with purpose of redeploying but cldnt. Anyway here I am still in Kebbi and enjoying every bit of it pls u guys shld not be in a hurry to the redeploy find out abt ur LGA and ppa bf doing so.
People here live a very simple life are very friendly willingly teach u their language and u don't need much money to live here

i can bet my *** kebbi is the safest northern state in 9ja, d thing is nothing good or bad happens in kebbi, the place is just there, i served there 2011/2012 batch A, my advice prepare vry well 4 d cold, whe travelin pass abj to sokoto or jst go sokoto direct from anywhre. Arugugun is jst 45mins or so 4rm sokoto. Safe journey people. If u r a catholic look 4 nacc, they will take good care of u,in and out of camp

Some years back, I found myself in this situation also. I was lost upstairs, never been to the north and here I was posted to Kebbi, a land where animals and humans are equal. But at the end, I found myself boarding a bus back to civilization and swore never to go back. Not trying to discourage you guys, its fun if you wanna catch fun. Enjoy the extreme cold and extreme heat. Its an experience of a lifetime. Fall inlove with your fellow corper and you won't feel the sufferings in kebbi. My little advice.

Hi stream 2 corpers. It was with mixed feelings I printed out my cul and saw I am going to rivers. I wished there was a big state to accommodate us all, but we know its not possible. I pray that we will never have any cause to regret the states we are called to serve.
