TruthHurts1: It's a bit unfair and it fails to acknowledge the sheer brilliance and hard work of the people of Hong Kong to write off their success as simply being the result of Western influence.
Other small countries like Singapore and Taiwan (which is de facto an independent country) have also to a large extent replicated the achievements of Hong Kong. God bless you for this beautiful piece!! |

theFilmtric: He said densely Which is quite true Check out Japan
theFilmtricsay Checkout Lagos too Is Lagos not densely populated?? Or is there another meaning for “DENSELY?”Why are there no healthy competition in Lagos, I mean a competition that will transform the city to be able to compete with the likes of New York, Shanghai, London and so on? |

Any?? Incorrect Check out Armenia,Georgia, moldova,Azerbaijan,Ukraine And those are whites that were never colonized Enslaved Remove the European Union and see the wretchedness of most European countries The UK would soon leave the EU Just watch how the value of the Euro would come down If they were really rich why colonize and look for other lands?? European riches is based on the sweat of African and Oriental slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries. Even till now Europe is still milking Africa
theFilmtricsay They were smarter than you, and that explains why they colonized you, While Africans were still running in village naked, European already had Well planned Cities with great architecture, They invented most of the things we used today, Trains, Cars, Skyscrapers, Aeroplane's, Guns, Television, E.t.c Including that phone you're using! Tell me one thing Africa has contributed to the Growth of the world aside consuming everything?? |

owobokiri: Nothing special about their so-called "intelligence".. Just that culturally, the Chinese have very good work ethics. The guys in Hong Kong just like their cousins in Guangdong are basically traders. Living next door to the manufacturing behemoth that is China was/is a big plus..., they made use of their chances.. What you have to realize is that when a community lives in a very small densely populated place, competition for new skills tend to be more fierce. From the outside, you see them as perculiar workaholics, but they are just desperately imbibing new survival skills..... The south Africans are doing well in relative terms. Believe me, if Hong Kongers were subjugated to all the atrocities the blacks in South Africa faced, Hong Kong will be like Laos or Burma.. At bolded Lagos population is 2 times higher than Hongkong, Not to talk of nigeria entirely, So why are there no healthy competition here that should have catapulted us to a first world country with massive Infrastructural development and High HDI like Hongkong? Or is anything holding us back here? I will keep on saying, Hongkong is a great place with intelligent individual, That explains why the city is one of the best in the world!! |

Twizzy30: i feel we need to acknowledge we have a big problem and maybe call these guys to come help us (British) We don't need to ask for their help, All we need Is a visionary leader who is into science/Tech or Probably school abroad to transform the country!! Until we start building our own Skyscraper, Constructing our own Bridges, Making our own smartphones and gadgets by ourselves, Nothing will ever change!! Science is the only thing that can make Africa rich and elevate our standard of living, Take Elon musk and Bill gate for example, this two individuals alone are richer than 80% of african countries, China is great today because their Government invested in Science, They're the ones building everything in their country without the help of the West!! But in Africa, we only consume without making anything, and we wonder why we're poor! Until we have leaders who will look into science, Nothing will ever change in Africa, we will always be Poor!!
