Romance / ‘I Gave My Homosexuality To God’ Former Gay Activist Shares Testimony by Rayloverscrib: 4:39pm On Feb 18, 2017
“It came down to a moment where God said to me, ‘You need to give me your homosexuality completely.’ I said, ‘Lord, your son died on the Cross for me. I will give you anything.’ So I gave him my homosexuality.”

A former anti-Christian gay rights activist has described how he met Jesus in a pub – and turned over his homosexuality to God.

David Bennett is among those who welcomed the decision by the Church of England bishops to hold fast to biblical standards on same-sex relationships.

Until he met Jesus in a pub in Australia, David Bennett was an active campaigner for gay rights. He took part in Sydney’s annual gay rights parade, Mardi Gras.

Bennett, who works as a speaker with the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and is currently studying postgraduate theology at the University of Oxford and hope to continue on to an MPhil in Christian Ethics next year, is inspired by Psalm 45: “Grace has annointed your lips.”

He told Christian Today: “I have always had this strong sense that God has called me to speak out, in a way that’s loving but still truthful. That is the difficult part in this whole thing – what is Christian truth?

“People have quite different views on what that looks like.
“I really understand how gay experience is so important, and how the Church has not taken that into account.”

He emphasised that his sexual orientation has not changed. He is still gay and is not linked to the ex-gay movement. But he is no longer sexually active.

Bennett grew up in an agnostic home but attended a conservative evangelical Christian school.

He “came out” as gay when he was 14. He completely rejected Jesus and the Bible. He experienced homophobia. One formative incident was when a man threw a brick at him when he was with his boyfriend in a park. He got involved in politics and the Labor Party in Australia.

When he was 19 and at university training to be a journalist, he interviewed a film maker and asked her what inspired her. She said it was God.

“I said, ‘I’m homosexual, I don’t think God is interested in me.’ She asked if I had experienced the love of God and offered to pray for me.”

She did, and he had an incredible experience of the Holy Spirit coming upon him. “This was the love I had been reaching for my whole life. I just felt God breathing me his breath. I said, ‘What is happening to me?’ She said, ‘It is the Holy Spirit. You are being born again. Finally I heard a voice say, ‘Will you accept my son Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?’ I had this long deliberation. I finally said, Yes.”

The love of God turned his whole life upside down.

But he still wasn’t entirely convinced.

He asked God for a sign that He was real. And then, at a film festival, he bumped into his friend again. And she said: “God is begging me to tell you that he exists.”

At first he remained convinced that gay marriage could be sanctified by God.

“It came down to a moment where God said to me, ‘You need to give me your homosexuality completely.’ I said, ‘Lord, your son died on the Cross for me. I will give you anything.’ So I gave him my homosexuality, and felt that call to celibacy.”

He admits this was a sacrifice of “profound proportions”.

By studying scripture, he then reached a point where he no longer saw marriage as simply a life-long commitment between two individuals like in a secular or gay marriage. Rather, he came to believe that marriage in the Church had to be between a man and woman, as reflected by the image of God in which men and women were created in Genesis.

His testimony is among those shared by Living Out, a church website run by three evangelical Christians who experience same-sex attraction but live according to Bible standards.

He is now writing a book about his life so far, and hopes to go on to a broader Christian ministry.

Jobs/Vacancies / Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps Recruiting? The Truth! by Rayloverscrib: 1:13pm On Feb 17, 2017
The news going round that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is recruiting is FAKE. I personally visited the official website of the corps and discovered there is a warning alert on its notification bar that there is no case of recruiting in the corps yet, hence the general public should be warned against fraudsters.

Forget about the news platform carrying the story. They are all fake.

Religion / Prayerlessness - The Real Reason Believers Are Being Told To Carry Weapons by Rayloverscrib: 11:26am On Feb 17, 2017
“And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword”. (Matthew 26:51-52)

Before the crisis in the Garden of Gethsemane occurred, Jesus saw the impending danger. And in response, HE RESOLVED TO PRAY. In addition, He also instructed His disciples to pray. “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation….”, He told them (Matthew 26:41).

While Jesus prayed, His disciples dozed. He came again to wake them to pray, but they soon dozed off again, “…for their eyes were heavy.” (verse 43). Jesus went back to His prayer.

Shortly after that, the mob that came to arrest Jesus arrived, and events unfolded rapidly. The instinctive response of Peter (who had been sleeping instead of praying) was to resort to physical violence – to his sword. With an expert stroke, he chopped off the right ear of Malchus, the servant of the high priest.

And with that stroke of carnal exuberance, Peter set out to disrupt God’s plan for the hour! For it was indeed God’s plan for Jesus to be arrested, so that He would be crucified as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. But, in his carnality, Peter engaged his natural mind and set himself to fight against God’s plan.

This is what happens when men get sloppy in the place of prayer. They lose the cutting edge of spirituality. They become confused. And in that confusion, they instinctively resort to the ARM OF THE FLESH. In sharp contrast, please note how Jesus was IN CONTROL throughout the encounter. It was a very difficult moment for Jesus. That was the hour He would be separated from the disciples He loved very much. That was the hour that His torture would begin – the beating, the mockery, the spitting, the shame, the humiliation, and so on. He knew all these very well. Yet, He was CALM and IN CONTROL – because He had been strengthened by God (through an angel) in the place of prayer (Luke 22:43).

And with His calmness and spiritual insight, Jesus undid the great damage that Peter did, and allowed the will of God to unfold – at a great personal cost to Himself. That is a man of understanding. A true Leader.

Now, let’s bring the lesson home to our situation in Nigeria. For a long time now, the Lord has been calling the Church in Nigeria back to repentance and to prayer. To much prayer for the soul of the nation, so that God’s prophetic agenda for the country may begin to unfold. But we have largely dozed off in the place of prayer. While danger was warming up, we were dozing. And as danger sprung upon us suddenly, our instinctive reaction is to resort to carnality – to SELF-help, to SELF-defence.

The mindless killing of our brethren in the North is a huge disaster that has befallen the Church in Nigeria. The loss of so many innocent lives is both sad and regrettable. But this disaster is not the greatest danger that confronts us. Rather, the greater danger is that neither we, nor yet the leadership of the Church in Nigeria, have a real understanding of what is happening, why it is happening, what the eventual outcome will be, and how we should react in both the short and long terms. There is confusion. There is uncertainty. There is anger. And that is why many believers are now resorting to the traditional base of humanity – CARNALITY.

In contrast, we know that it was the understanding that Jesus had that provided direction for His followers (even though they remained perplexed and bewildered). But the Church in Nigeria seems to lack the genuine spiritual leadership that truly understands the mind of God on our current situation, and can inspire stability at a dangerous time like this.

And instead of admitting our collective failure in the place of prayer, quite a lot of our leaders are openly teaching their members to procure weapons and chop off the heads of their attackers. Some are ranting and raving on THEIR altars, invoking useless curses and sudden death on the attackers. Have the attackers been dropping dead like a swarm of flies as a result of those empty curses? No!

We follow such men at the peril of our souls – unless if we are also really like them. The instruction of Jesus to His disciples in the midst of danger is clear: “…Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves”. (Matthew 10:16).

We cannot be HARMLESS AS DOVES unless we have God on our side, and in our view. So this is the REAL PROBEM. The Fulani herdsmen are NOT our main problem (despicable as their actions are). They are but a mere symptom of a deeper problem. A symptom that exposes our spiritual unclothedness. Our failure in arming ourselves in the Spirit because the weapons of our warfare are NOT carnal. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). This is why we are told that “… the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds… (Corinthians 10:4).

When God is not fully in the picture, we have NO MIGHT. And to defend ourselves, we’ll need to use part of our tithes and offering to buy weapons – as a pastor suggested recently!

Friends, please know this. There is much more danger ahead. God will use various situations and circumstances to open our eyes to our unclothedness. Our response should be REPENTANCE. Our response should be to resolve to repair our broken altar of prayers. It is NOT about Fulani herdsmen. It is about us! It is about our God! Our God that said this: “When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Proverbs 16:7). Our God is in firm control!

Out of all the leaders and pastors that are telling us to buy weapons, how many of them have been busy calling us, as a Body, back to repentance and to much prayer? And to a concerted seeking of God’s face to gain an understanding of what exactly is happening, and how we should respond? Rather, they are appealing to our crass carnality. Responding in ways that will satisfy the lowest part of our fallen human nature. When Dr Oyedepo rained curses on some persecutors in 2015, the thunderous response of AMEN could have brought down the roof! Yet, they were praying IN THE NAME of the same Jesus that taught us to pray for our enemies and give them a drink if they are thirsty. Trying to use the power of the God we are not obeying to kill the enemies that we do not love. A perfect picture of fallen humanity.

Church in Nigeria, please let us pray that God will kindly forgive our present crop of leaders, and open their spiritual eyes. And if God chooses to move beyond them, let us pray that He will raise new Davids, Joshuas, Nehemiahs, Daniels, etc, that will understand His mind and lead us to follow His heart.

I say it again, great danger still lies ahead of the nation. And if the Church in Nigeria does not begin to turn earnestly and radically to God in repentance, the events we call ‘disasters’ today will look like child’s play tomorrow.

The time to ARM ourselves is NOW. The time to put on the whole armour of God – the armour of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:13-17).

This is the time to ARM ourselves with the mind that is truly ready to suffer for the sake of the Gospel of Christ (1 Peter 4:1), so that the will of God may be done on earth, as it is done in heaven. This is the POTENT ARSENAL that God has provided for the true followers of Jesus Christ.

Let us forsake carnality and foolishness. Let us acknowledge our waywardness, and return in humility to carry our cross and follow Christ. Just so that God’s plan for us as a nation may begin to blossom to the glory of His name. And the time to start is NOW!

Thanks for reading, God bless you.

Politics / Read What LAI MOHAMMED Said About Yar'dua In 2009 And Forget About APC And Buhar by Rayloverscrib: 9:28pm On Feb 07, 2017
The internet is a bitch that never forgets. Here's what Lai Mohammed and APC, then ACN said on Yaradua's health issue on December 21, 2009

"The Action Congress (AC) has renewed its call on the Federal Government to give Nigerians a daily update on the health of President Umaru Yar'Adua to stem the growing rumours surrounding his state of health. In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the current situation whereby ministers and aides of the President give out uncoordinated information on his health, is doing more harm than good...

"Therefore, a daily briefing by the Minister of Information, based on authentic details provided by the President's doctors, should start forthwith. As we have said many times, the health of the President, as a public figure can no longer be of interest only to his family and friends. Nigerians have a right to know," AC said. The party also called on the Federal Executive Council,FEC, the only body constitutionally empowered to start the process of determining whether or not the President can continue in office on the basis of his health, to rise above mundane considerations and put the nation's interest first.

We used to hear and sing. "Children are the leaders of tomorrow" but with the current attitude and characteristic behaviour of our children, we can clearly see that the future is at stake.

How on earth these children could be so much interested in drinking at this early stage?

Despite the fact that, there is Malt, Coke and assorted soft drinks, they prefer alcoholic drinks.

Literature / See Reasons Why Professor Wole Soyinka Needs Social Media Schooling by Rayloverscrib: 12:02pm On Dec 07, 2016
When I first heard of Wole Soyinka's utterance before the America's presidential election, I knew this man was looking for the problem of Nigerians. Probably he doesn't know what the guys have become. He thought it was the Nigeria without much exposure he used know. So when he started receiving lashes, he got offended and he's trying as much as possible to reply everyone. Impossible!

So I stumbled on a article titled Kongi "Goes to" Social Media, I was fascinated and thought to share with you guys. Read the article below. You will know of course, our icon needs social media schooling, and that much education is not exposure in itself. Happy reading.

Kongi "Goes to" Social Media

The recent vituperations of Prof. Wole Soyinka against Social Media commentators who had criticized his tearing or not tearing his Green Card is a revelation of the impact of the Social Media in our time. Facebook and Twitter, among others, are redefining our world today and no one is left out of their impact.

The world probably took the Social Media for granted when the Arab Spring was precipitated by pictures of a young Tunisian boy who burnt himself in protest and which was widely distributed on the Social Media. The Arab Spring is yet to rest, as the ongoing war in Syria is one of its outcomes. Egypt, Yemen, Libya and other countries were consumed. The untouchable Gaddafi was taken out by it and the list is simply unending.

In shaping opinions, the Social Media is number one. No one can testify to this better than Goodluck Jonathan. While many might disagree at who was best to succeed him in office, most were agreed that he was unsuitable to continue. The unseating of the first incumbent President in this country should be credited to the Social Media after God.

In the area of opinion molding, the Social Media is foremost. All sorts of opinions rule here and those who are discerning enough can tell truth from falsehood. On the Social Media the excesses of the Church Institution has been exposed to the embarrassment of many pastors. The wise ones are careful with what they say lest they make the headline on Social Media discusses. The stupid ones remain blinded with pride and obstinacy.

So, Prof., sir, this is the New World. It is the world of the Social Media critic where the good, the bad and the ugly abound. In this community you learn to state your mind and ignore the stupid. You engage good opinions but offer silence to the ugly and bad ones, lest while answering them you appear as stupid as they are.

Social Media is a school, sir, you are compelled to attend as a very senior and celebrated citizen. But thankfully you know that until death calls, life offers us things to learn from. Welcome to school. Lol

Romance / Discover 8 Killer Reasons Why Fight Breeds Love In A Relationship by Rayloverscrib: 2:52pm On Nov 27, 2016
The strongest relationships are thick with arguments. No epic love stories were written about complacency from years of living in the doldrums of lame ass bullsh*t.

There’s something to be said for dating someone whose mind is so different from yours. Because of this, you’re always fighting… well, fighting.

Fighting is the key ingredient in breeding passion. From passion comes love. Deep love. Earth-shattering, appetite-destroying, sleep-losing, skin-burning, can’t-live-life-without-each-other love.

When I say “fighting,” I'm not talking about full-blown physical encounters. I'm not talking about throwing plates and breaking skulls.

I'm not talking about making your partner physically bleed or fearing for your safety. I'm not describing a situation that brings the police to your house.

I simply mean “arguing”: two intelligent people finding themselves in the throes of healthy debate.

Nothing is more sexually charged than a heated debate about an issue both parties are ardent about.

There is something so erotic about having a battle of minds with the man or woman you love.

Before I have to go consult my little black book so that I can stop sweating, here is why you should date someone who always argues with you. Read, fight, hump, love.

1. It means your love can survive anything.

If you don't fight with your significant other, it just isn't real love. If you can fight, you have the power to survive.

If the two of you can say whatever is on your mind, even the most vicious of arguments couldn't tear you apart.

If you can fight, you can make it. When you stop tiptoeing, you start growing closer.

2. It means you respect each other's views.

Your views on important issues may be entirely opposite, but that doesn't mean you lack respect for each other. Mutual respect is absolutely vital to a healthy and lasting relationship.

You may vehemently disagree on certain things. But agreeing to disagree — instead of letting those differences break you — will bring you to a better understanding and broader horizons.

3. It means you aren't afraid of one another.

If you can stand up to your partner in an argument, you’re clearly not afraid of each other. You can't have a steady partnership with someone who is complacent instead of combative.

There is a difference between having a healthy love and having one foot out the door. Arguing is a constant test of strength.

If both of you can keep up with each other, you’re strong people who can handle your equally strong opinions. You’re well-suited — and well-tested.

4. It means your passion is incredibly visceral.

You know what fighting reallymeans? Amazing makeup sex. If you're in a relationship with someone who argues with you, there are bound to be many a makeup after many a fight.

Arguing is a sign of the passion that the two of you breed for each other. You wouldn't fight if you didn’t feel so strongly about things. The tangible, fiery passion between you is positively palpable.

5. It means you both stand by your opinions.

If you're arguing a lot, you're clearly stubborn people. While stubbornness is often considered a negative quality in a relationship, it proves that you are strong-minded individuals.

It boldly illustrates the staunch beliefs that you’re both ready to defend.

You justify your stance on almost everything, and your tenacity matters to you. Just because you're in love doesn't mean you're ready to roll over.

6. It means you'll always learn from each other.

If there is one thing I want from a partner, it’s an endless treasure trove of knowledge. I want to be with someone who teaches me things, who broadens my mind. If you're with someone who argues with you, he or she obviously has something to teach you.

7. It means your relationship will never be boring.

If you fight with your partner, you can bet that your relationship is going to be anything but boring.

OK, you don't need to be screaming at each other all the time. But healthy debate keeps you two interested. The last thing you want is to fall into the vanilla throes of mediocrity.

Keep things lively by always challenging each other. Fighting will keep you on your toes … and eventually on your back (with those toes in the air).

8. It means you're comfortable with each other.

When you fight with someone, it shows how comfortable you are with that person. When you can tell your partner that you disagree — when you can speak up and say you’re pissed the f*ck off — that’s love.

You know that what you have can’t be broken, so you push the boundaries and test each other. You fight only because you're sure of each other.

You don't have to worry about destroying your relationship, because you're too crazy about each other to let an argument ever ruin what you have.

Essential to a real, long-lasting love is calling one another on each other's sh*t. After all, that’s just what it means to date your best friend.

Celebrities / Stamina: A 50 Year Old Man Pulls A Vehicle All By Himself by Rayloverscrib: 7:17pm On Nov 23, 2016
A 50 year old man who takes pleasure in being forever young demonstrates his prowess as he pulls his vehicle with a rope tied to rear puller of the vehicle.

How did he do it. No one knows, but we believe he has the strength to do this in the next 50 years ahead. Lol.
