Hey guys what's up, was going through updates on jamb and saw that this year jamb was given an appraisal to have been the best jamb written I'm years. Tho it was not perfect but it was said to be a good one. The register was said to return 5 billion naira to the government coffer which had not been done rather jamb had been borrowing money to complete it's preparations and all over the previous years. To me the only challenge I had was the registration process but all other things went smoothly thanks to God's grace. What do you guys think about this year jamb? Was there improvements? What do you think should be done for the betterment of jamb? Well just asking tho.

You must astuwlly think all of those you wrote on July 1 were somehow involved in exam malpractice but just so you know, some centers didn't work at all, some with series of problems. Most of these candidate were the ones who read complained so they aren't privileged, its their right.

Unlike you am optimistic and I hope the wait would be favoring. Thanks
What are you talking about? Did you even read what I wrote? Did I mention anything about exam malpractice? Didn't I specify that it's was due to late registration and it wasn't even their fault that some of them registered late. Me saying it's a privilege means that jamb actually set a date aside for people who registered late something on a normal day jamb won't do and seeing it be that they wrote late, they had ought to have been assumed they prepared well and shouldn't have an excuse not to pass their required cut off because jamb won't lay out any other form of pardon. This is Nigeria and am actually talking reality as engrbello who is the only one now realising what am saying. Yes I too wanted to change my second choice but I can't, why? Because jamb happened. Speaking about being optimistic, if you have been following this thread you would find out that am very optimistic but I have to leave that and face reality. Please don't come @ again me if you don't know what your saying, misread or misinterpreted me.

If you want to put your hopes on the facts aiit goodluck, all the best. We have been telling people to take coc and coi, yet jamb just keeping everybody bewildered. Best bet go to there office and find out what's up than waiting or sit down and be waiting for the Coc or coi to come out.

I disagree,sir. cool

I have no reason to opt for data correction anyway but I can say it boldly and emphatically that the portal for data correction will be opened soon. The duration might be less compared to previous years.

After the whole first batch saga of the data correction mounting problems. The PR officer of JAMB, Dr Benjamin denied it that the correction of data has not commenced and any further information to this effect will be related to the affected students soon.

So,going by Dr Benjamin's claim, the portal for data correction has never been opened. So,how does intending applicants rectify errors they made while registering? undecided

My brother,It's not about the Change of Course alone,We have thousands of people who wishes to alter names, date of birth and many others.

rn following jamb is like following a blind man, you can't fully rely on things like this. People should just start putting there eyes and ears down for their schools updates. Rn jamb should have started sending database to schools and as we know Nigeria school waits for no one.

what about those who wrote utme on july 1? are they not entitled to change of course/institution if they dont meet required cutoffs?
To think about it, it's a privilege that they were given a chance to write in the first place despite having registered late, tho it's not really most people fault that they registered late but we are in Nigeria. Nobody really cares. The best bet for them is just to pass their cut off because they had all the time to prepare, so no excuse plus no school will wait for anybody rn since as we all know rn that some schools have commenced there screening already.

forget about COC...everything don close...

jamb are now after DE and NYCE stuffs..
as u can see, some schools have started selling p.utme forms already e.g Oou, lasu( Lagos indigen for now) and some other states universities....

Just proceed with what you've got and keep on praying, make everything they gonna do favour you!
I stand with you, I just did delsu admission process today, I put it as my second choice, was going to try it out because i don't want to put my head in one basket. Coc or coi chances are looking very slim as too federal and state schools are resuming very fast due to them trying to catch the pace private school do give them. Even unilag that I thought used to be very slow will soon conclude second semester. Ui to me should be the slowest school rn and should try and do something about it. Not discouraging anyone but coc and coi should be out of anyone options. Schools will now determine the course to be given to you probably if you don't meet the cut off as usual.

For the DE candidates

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will begin the sale of the 2017 Direct Entry forms and registration of foreign candidates on July 10.
JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bwari, FCT, on Monday.
Mr. Benjamin said the process of registration for the Direct Entry was spelt out in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He said candidates for Direct Entry were expected to have Advanced Level, Diploma or its equivalent, while foreign candidates must possess proof of residency abroad.
“For the foreign candidates to be eligible to write examination in a foreign centre, you must have stayed in the foreign country for at least a minimum of six months.
“You must have schooled there, you must have had your secondary education there; you must show evidence of having stayed there for period of six months.
“If you have stayed in Nigeria and just fly to London to register, you are not eligible; you must have schooled or had your secondary education outside the country.
“Not that you just finished Senior Secondary Certificate Examination in 2016, and you are rushing to the United Kingdom to go and write your examination,” Mr. Benjamin said.
He noted that measures had been put in place to ensure that candidates who wrote the previous examination and failed were not registered in foreign countries, unless they meet the guideline.
Mr. Benjamin explained that the Direct Entry would be sold at the same price previously pegged at N5,000, adding that the Board was yet to fix the price for application for foreign candidates.
“We are discussing on that, we are looking at selling the forms at $100 (N31,525.00) for Africans and $150 (N47,287.50) for non-Africans,” he said.
He said that the JAMB Direct Entry was mainly for people who already possessed a diploma certificate and wished to do a programme in the university.

Starting from the year 2012, some stallites (already matriculated students of OAU) start porting to UI as a result of many issues ranging from: the ease at which OAU students get Medicine and other many related courses in UI and the transparency in their admissions, the ease of academic work in UI compared to OAU, stable academic calender among others. So judging from this, OAU-UI mix strengthened the already conscious and ever vigilant UI students.

Hi, most schools, maths is actually compulsory for a course like chemistry not to talk of industrial chemistry which is almost like studying an engineering course. If it were to be just chemistry I might say your jamb combination would be good but for industrial chemistry it might be another thing. Sha just stay alert for other people to give you information.

Bro comp.sci is very competitive and with your o'level it's a no no, you need A's and B's plus your jamb score is 26 when divided, last year cut off was 65 I think and might rise up to 70, so you need @ least 37 and above to add up in your o'level but your gce with isn't up to enough but if you are very sure of your awaiting result then you could risk it. But I won't advice it. Take a coc or coi.

" UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN
OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR
LETTER TO ALL STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN
Greatest UItes!
I welcome you back on campus from the vacation that was necessitated by the disruption of academic activities on campus during the last week of the month of May. In spite of the contrary readings to the intention of the Senate, Council and Management, it was a decision taken to protect the lives and interest of a very special class of people on campus; the students.

I cannot over emphasize the fact that your lives and interests remain of utmost importance to the University Management and we will not hesitate to go to lengths to ensure that you live and learn in a safe, conducive and inspiring environment.

Without doubt, students are bound to have their contributions, observations, complaints even grievances. As you constitute the majority of the inhabitants of the University community , you are entitled to draw the attention of the necessary bodies as well as lodge your complaints to the appropriate quarters in time particularly on topical issues that border on municipal services such as electricity and water which are vital to your well-being. Issues arising from both are being addressed to the best of our ability but when there are complaints it will be appropriate to lodge such through the relevant establishments.

Security is also another key issue particularly because of the menace of terrorism and the prevailing national situation. You would be expected to put on your identity cards to prevent the incursion of terrorists and interlopers on campus.

This current administration respects the right of students to protest and has no policy that enforces a culture of silence. As students of the first and the best university in the country, our ultimate goal is to raise world class scholars, professionals and executives who are to thrive on dialogue, administrative processes and procedures instead of violent protests which usually leads to danger for the innocent among the students.

I reassure you once again of my goodwill and genuine commitment to your well-being. Members of the University community are aware, and I will like to reiterate, that I am available, reachable and accessible to everyone, especially the students. Irrespective of diverse opinions, some of which are obviously tainted, I like to see myself as your father, friend and mentor, all in a bid to ensure that you excel in your various fields of study. I welcome you back to the rest of the semester which has been interrupted but which with some delibrateness can still be engaged to yield the best in spite of its limitations.

The university calendar has been adjusted to accommodate the disruption and it is my utmost desire that you settle in speedily to make the most of the rest of the semester.

Part of my vision for students is to extend the frontiers of knowledge and create best practice in exposure for leadership training and professional development. All of these are being put in place by the University Management and I am certain that everyone can find a place within the scheme.

Once again I welcome you back to a most rewarding rest of the semester and success in your examinations.

Thank you and God bless.

Idowu Olayinka
Vice-Chancellor

Your state is an ELDState so i'll advise you base on last year's cutoff point for ELDS.

Your UME score is 258 which is 32.25/50. Last year cutoff for ELDS was 71.33.

71.33-32.25=39.08
You need 39.08 in your O'level to meet up with last cutoff, which is B2 in all your five compulsory subjects. Now, looking at the mass success in this year's UME most esp among sci/medical aspirants, we can say ELDS cutoff this year will go above 71. My prediction is (73<x<77, where x is the cutoff mark for ELDS this year).

With this, you should have 2A1s and 3B2s or at least 1A1 and 4B2s. If you have the former, your point will be 77.25, if you have the latter, your point will be 75.58.

But do you think your o'level result will be this good??

You might want to consider a change of course.
Men see analysis, I hail you oh.

my advice is that his o'level and jamb seems OK but he should try choosing another institution. People compromise what they really want to study just because they want to go to a known school which I think isn't worth it. Life is not like that. If he really wants to study his course then he should try another institution but if he wants to come to ui, try picking another course. Plus, you know mbbs students still have to compete to cross over to the teaching hospital so leave that out of it.

according to what u said u are waiting for your waec results, but u scored 230 in jamb, now divide 230/8 = 28.75, so jamb gave u 28.75 out the total of 50 mark obtainable in jamb, but the the cut off marks for ur Physiotherapy last year was 66.95 , let's say 67 now u need 38.2 more mark to compete which u can get in ur waec and the total marks obtainable in waec is also 50, assuming u have ur results now it will be easy to determine ur fate, so to calculate waec grades Ui unlike other schools A1 = 6 b2=5 b3= 4 c4 =3 c5=2 c6=1, let say u have b3 which is 4 points in ur 5 core waec subject that is 4*5 = 20 now 20 divided by 30..... 20/30 = 0.66... Now multiply it by 50 ... 0.66*50 = 33 that means out of 50 waec point u scored 33 remember ur jamb is 28.75 adding together = 61.75, for that, now come back to u, you scored 28.75 in Jamb but last year cut off mark was 66.95 which we expect it to increase this year let just say 66.95 - 28.75 = 38.2 let me help u with some calculations as statistician..... 38.2/50 = 0.76 ... 0.76*30 = 22.8 ...... 22.8/5 = 4.6 that means u must not have anything less that b2 which is 5point in any of your core 5 subject
Remember a lot of folks scored higher marks in jamb with As in their o level , u will have to Compete with them also, I will advise u to change to another course to avoid story that touches , you can't even quarantee As in ur awaiting results , so, it's left for u to decides, I wish u best of luck....
