Sorry bro for replying late
From research work i got to know that you also process UI last year

As you can see, you didn't meet up with last year cut-off mark for physiology it's really painful
And i don't think the cut-off mark is going to reduce because alot of people want to use physiology as a step stone to medicine and surgery

I'll suggest you change to chemistry or better still change institution
Cos the way things're going the cut-off marks for courses in college of medicine will skyrocket this year

Thanks

Hello guys, I wanna know my chances on admission (physiology) into UI.
Jamb score 208
Waec: Maths, B3
English, C4
Biology, C4
Chemistry, B3
Physics, B3
Thanks guys,
last year cut off was 57.79, your aggregate is 56, ui don't Play nice so either you pray for the cut off to come down or apply for coc if it's still going on but I don't see the cut off coming down, a lot of cut off mark might sky rocket this year expecially those for medicine related courses. So act while you still can.

Well, I have not been to all undergraduate halls of residence, especially the famale halls but the few male halls I have been to are fairly above average to rate.

There are about 3-4 students per room. The rooms are small though. I have been to quite a number of undergraduate halls of residence of federal universities and I'll tell you UI's are relatively better than some of them.

Note: You are charged N14,000 per session for a space in the UG halls.

thanks fam.
we're on same side.
but •50% pple took teaching as compensation course especially at tough Uni's
•40% see it as last choice
•10% pple, originally have passion for the career (teaching )
that's one of reasons we lack good and dedicated teachers in nigeria.

I agree

EngrBello:

Sometimes, I got devastated to see pple changing thier desire course/career for another... coz of fake competitions at our Nigeria Uni's., Universities are the prime factors, causing unemployment in our Nation today ...
• They change about 60% student career all in the names of getting admission...someone who had already dream of becoming Doctor/Engineer/Lawyer....later turn to become Teacher/Educationist (that is even if dey give him/her admission at all )
•Guys who Graduate find it hard to work with the certificate simply because, they have No Desire/affection for it(graduated profession)..but were forced to show fake love for the COURSE being giving to them at the helm when they're dieing for ADMISSION.

someone who have gotten affection to be Doctor in future ,find it easy to relate with pple and make them feel at ease whenever they have health challenge issues....samething applies to Engineering(repairing stuffs during secondary school age)...etc
but now this universities change our career entirely...

I won't be surprise to see Biochemist,Microbiologist, physics etc engaging themselves with teaching stuffs in future..... all because...Universities have changed thier real Career.... People who desired to be an Educationist find it easy to comprehend into thier career in future... why?? Kopp because they've got what they have affection for.
Bro true, but you talk as if teaching is bad or something, is like you don't know how rich lecturers and professors are in university. A friend of mine is studying comp.sci in unilag and his dream is to be a professor. Yes school actually give people courses they never thought they would study but just don't put the blame on schools only. Parents too are to blame plus we as individuals put ourselves in that situation. A lot of don't even listen to ourselves, we are always trying to please our parents by following what they want us to study. I met a girl and asked her what was her propose for being in the Uni and she said because she wants to be educated clearly showing she doesn't even know what she wants. I tried studying comp.sci in unilag for 3 years but was always giving education. I didn't want to study comp.sci, my dad wanted me to. I finally took up the education but I'd not allow school to decide my future too, so I took jamb. Along time I found out that I love calculations because I give me joy, relaxes me and makes me think better. I discovered this during my first try in studying comp.sci. Now 3 years gone likely waisted, who do I blame, the school? My parents? Or myself for not listening to me earlier. I'd blame myself but am glad and thank God I'd finally be able to study what I like that is mathematics. Even uptil today, my dad still asks me if I could change course to study comp.sci but I tell him no straight up. What am saying is that a lot of candidates just study courses for no reason, some because their parents wants them to study what they want. Remember it's your life you are living not your parents life. That's why we have a lot of depressed people, a lot of unemployment to add. All this things starts from the roots. Please for God's sake study what you like plus its not a must you must make it in this bloody country if it does not show you love, you move somewhere else. Hope you get what am saying. Oh yeah another reason is choice of university. Some abandon there course because they want to go that a particular university by force by fire which is wrong. Confusion everywhere, still all comes from the root. Good planning solves everything. We and our parents should come together and plan, put things in place on time not when it's time to enter school then we start rushing a lot of decision one might later regret.

@shanky45, bobola07

I'm glad to tell you that MATHEMATICS is the mother of all science, technology and engineering courses, and as such, can be applied to all aspects of science related professions.

Statistics is an application of mathematics. To be successful in statistics, you need a strong mathematical background. This is why some mathematics courses are made compulsory in the department of statistics.

Again, mathematics deals with certainty or facts, while statistics deals with uncertainty, probability, predictions drawn from availabe data using mathematical and computational methods.

These two are great! Whichever you wish to choose, you'll find it very interesting. But first, you need to evaluate yourself and see if your mathematics background is sound and your love for it is 100%. You should be able to deal with elementary mathematics before diving into advanced mathematics.

Regards
well said.

I still do not understand why last-year's cutoff mark for 'education and english' was pegged at 62.10 while English was 57.10...Isn't the reverse suppose to be the case?
Same thing happened in unilag last year, English education was higher than normal English.

mathematics- 8
statistics- 7
physics- 1

CondomSir:

Few candidates normally apply for mathematics yearly. This can be said to be the reason the cutoff has always been pegged at 50 (for the past four years now). So everyone who chose it and scored 50 and above usually have their names on the merit list(usually few candidates though_in 2016, they were just 6).

I don't know the maximum number of candidates that can be admitted into mathematics but most times, it is not usually filled even after COC.

make i come and be going...
lol guy swear, just 6, haba statistics would be how many then?

Heard jamb cut off for 2017/2018 is out, the top school maintained their 200 as usual, no need to call names, you people should know them. Ui maintained 200 + there still hope for people to enter school this year because most of the polytechnics if not all were given 150 as cut-off. Wish everyone one best of luck cos the race has already begun.

I'm not happy with this angry
Bro shit is messed up but am sure the reasons might probably be infrastructure or they lack something or probably they have done something that wasn't legal like pass the limit of there quota for admitted students. I heard nuc can seize or remove accreditation for 3-4 years from a faculty if they exceed there quota for admitting students. Do one of this might be part of the reasons why nuc remove there accreditation. Sha calm down ui might fix the problem but to be on the safe side, people should move ASAP.

u don't have to be confused.

that's why I later modified my post that u should not worry about biology since u didn't sit for it on jamb.

it would have been a problem had it been that u sit for it on ur jamb.
what am saying is that it wouldn't be necessary I put exactly my subject combination in jamb with my o'level if they are other core subjects I can put.

don't give them any single reason to kick u out.

u need all ur four subjects u sat on jamb along with any other subject that is among ur olevel subjects requirements for ur giving course.

the brochure u quoted there is use as a guild lines to help u choose ur jamb combo well.
why trying to go against the same brochure by removing one subject it helped u to chose for ur jamb exams?.

u sat for biology in ur jamb cos u believed it was more easy than physics but now that it has helped u ,u wana substitute it with physics cos u have more nice grade in it than biology.

do u think ui is too daft to shun this?
