Family / Nigeria's First Online Memorial Platform - Createtribute by raymod170(m): 12:05am On Oct 11, 2022
Createtribute is Nigeria’s first online memorial platform for preserving the legacies of loved ones that have passed away. In 2020, we began working on an MVP which we called Tribute To A Love One, we secured the domain name tributetoaloveone.com and launched on the 6th of February 2021, people registered to use the product, and some created free memorials, and we were excited people signed up to create memorials of their loved ones, this validated our idea.

It’s been over a year since our first SaaS MVP product went live, we have experienced growth, adoption, positive and negative criticism, and also paid subscribers who love the product and are preserving the legacies of their loved ones via our various subscription packages.

Thanks to our early adopters, they have proven our idea to be valid and our product timeless, they are our first believers. We have decided to upgrade all existing users memorials to the lifetime plan, freemium, monthly and yearly memorials will be upgraded to lifetime at no cost, this is our little way of thanking our existing users for trusting us to preserve the legacies of their loved ones on our platform.

We also understand how important our users are to us, we would take every step necessary to protect our user’s data, implement algorithms that would remove harmful content from users’ memorials, and much more. trust is key, we will work hard to gain the trust of the public and users of our platform.

Each online memorial comes with features that enable family, friends, and love ones to digitally celebrate the life of their loved ones, by sharing the memories, tributes, and stories of those that have passed away. Creators of each memorial have full control over the memorials they create, some of the features include; About the departed, the life history, birth and death dates, the image, other gallery images of the deceased with members of the family, and a tribute song.

HarryBerry32:
At first glance, it's a very interesting service. I would even say very modern and important. A month ago, my grandma passed away, but a lot of relatives couldn't visit her slant headstone due to pandemia. It's a very sad thing. But now, as I see, it is an alternative. But I have few questions - can we create a virtual meeting and how? Just visit the memorial meeting room or what? Previously we had to create a zoom meeting or standalone memorial website. Hopefully, now all the things at one place, and it is maybe would be cheaper.

Hello HarryBerry32,

First of all sorry for the loss of your grandma, may her soul continue to rest in peace.

Also thanks for the feedback on the service, we are delighted and humbled, Our mission is to create an online memorial platform where tributes, stories, and photos from families and friends are shared.

To answer your questions, currently, the feature to create a virtual meeting for a funeral is not currently available, the list of current features available includes:

About the departed.
The life history.
Birth and death dates.
The image.
Other gallery images of the deceased with family members, funeral images, and the feature for people sharing tribute and stories to also share images taken alongside with the deceased.
A tribute song that plays in the individual memorial website created.
Share a tribute.
Share a story. etc

However, I have personally taken note of your feedback and would discuss it with my team for future update inclusion.

Once again thanks for the feedback it means a lot to us, and also sorry for the loss of your loved one.

Kindly visit our faq page if you have any questions, or you can reply to me here with any questions and I would respond.

Introducing www.TributetoAloveone.com - An online memorial website

The memories of our loved ones are precious, celebrate the life of your loved ones, share memories, stories, photos, send condolences, write tributes, and also create a personalized URL, which will preserve their legacies.

Tribute to a love one is a platform where people can create an online memorial of their loved ones that have passed away. Each online memorial comes with features that enable family, friends, and love ones to digitally celebrate the life of their loved ones.

Creators of each memorial have full control over the memorials they create, some of the features include; About the departed, the life history, birth and death dates, the image, other gallery images of the deceased with members of the family, and a tribute song.

Each memorial created comes with subscription packages of monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans, which ensures every memorial stays active for the duration selected by the user.

www.TributeToAloveOne.com is a product of https://codefixbug.com/, a software development company located in Nigeria, its goal is to provide simplified solutions that solve problems in Nigeria, Africa, and around the world. TributeToAloveOne.com is an indigenous platform, created for the greater good of preserving the legacies of people around the world.

Amy Winehouse in her Back To Black song said "We only said goodbye with words", we got inspired by this to create the platform where people can come together to say goodbye to their loved ones in words, written and shared, which would bring smiles or tears to those who read the tributes and stories.

After the death of Moses Chimereze Okpo, FCA, we also created a memorial for the family, where family, friends, and loved ones shared amazing stories and tributes.

Visit: https://moseschimerezeokpo.tributetoaloveone.com/about

We hope to keep the memories of your loved ones, especially in a period where we are all affected by the pandemic which has taken the lives of those we love.

Best Regards.

Marketing any product or service is not easy, but having the right marketing team or experience in using marketing tools would be of great advantage to you bro.

Have a plan, but know how to approach the right people who needs it, both online and offline, all this takes time, you might get lucky as you take this steps to meet people who would need other tech services than the software you trying to market to them.

for where, in nairaland or online generally. Nigeria software for developers market lies in building one application for use for own great business empire. because if u think u can make it big sourcing for clients u are getting all wrong. I and my friends in abuja, Lagos, owerri, port harcout has hustle and have try to make it big but no . we have to go our separate ways even two of my friends are now a teacher in aptech, while other 3 are now in andela, I and my other friend we are trying to run a tech startup. so guys even if go approach a company for partnership to help them upgrade their business processes then either ridiculed you or u just walk away. even though u tell them ur service are for free then till will not give u that chance. giving them for free do not mean u will not gain in their business, as soon as their business profit u too profit also but non of them is ready to understand that. Software Developers need help here in Nigeria.
I am not discouraging u, u can try the opposite.

You have some valid points but then we all have our stories.

Alot of things are changing, companies and small businesses or startups are looking at technology intensity. it's a gradual step but then there is an increase as developers and software companies can validate this.

The key is to keep moving regardless of the various negativities you might face, I faced a lot as a freelancer years back before I started my startup, all the experiences and choices from the past has helped me tremendously.

Stay hopeful, but don't give up regardless, the future is bright.

Business / Benefits And Challenges Of Working Remotely As An IT Professional by raymod170(m): 6:07pm On Dec 09, 2019
While working remotely can be an extremely convenient advantage in a job that offers it, it could also pose serious challenges that could threaten your performance if left unchecked. Too many people venture into working remotely due to the allure of being able to work from home, or anywhere, really.

However, working remotely is a lot more complicated than simply carrying out your responsibilities from whichever location best suits you, and you could easily flop without adequate preparation. This article will take you through the benefits and challenges associated with working remotely, as well as tips to increase productivity, save time, and prevent burnout.

BENEFITS OF WORKING REMOTELY
1. Working remotely allows you the advantage of flexible working hours. You find that you can start and close work at your convenience. This is particularly useful if your productive hours do not align with the regular 9am-5pm that most people are required to be present at offices, if you must take care of children, or if you juggle your remote job with other equally tasking jobs and responsibilities.
2. Working remotely also makes it possible for you to work from anywhere. This should come as no surprise, considering that this is exactly what it means to work remotely. However, when physical presence is not required for you to do your job, you realise that you can work in places in which you are most comfortable and inspired, if you have access to the internet.
3. There is no dress code for remote work. You can work in whatever you are most comfortable in, and whatever is best suited for your location while working.
4. While working remotely, you might learn valuable skills such as time management, prioritization, effective teamwork across different states, and even countries, discipline, and many others.
5. Working remotely would also save you money, as transportation fees to and from work would be eliminated.

After considering the various benefits associated with working remotely, you may be excited to rush into searching for a remote job position. However, considering the challenges it poses would help in deciding if a remote job is for you.

CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH WORKING REMOTELY
1. If you are a social person who enjoys physical interactions with colleagues and teammates, working remotely would drastically reduce that, and thus you might have to contend with loneliness.
2. There are endless distractions. Without anyone to physically check your progress, you might fall victim to procrastination and laziness. You may tend to forget important work tasks, postpone assignments and fall short of deadlines. If you are easily distracted, working remotely could affect your work performance negatively, and you might end up with mediocre or poor results.
3. Communication with teammates might be impaired by difference in time zones, cultural and language barriers, lack of intimacy and closeness, etc.
4. Getting assistance when you encounter a problem working might be more difficult when you are working remotely.
After considering the pros and cons of remote work, we will also be considering how to deal with the challenges associated with remote work, as well as other helpful tips in managing time and projects remotely.

It really annoying when people like you call yourself developer. Look at your portfolio and see all the wack website you did with WordPress and so on. Rubbish. You people will just discourage those that have interest in development with your rubbish.

Then go check that rubbish you did that you called pillow and bedsheets online store. You are not ashamed to come writ rhis here. Come stop calling yourself a developer oo. Nonsense

Thanks for the comment, but you should understand that codefixbug is a software company, we use CMS and other frameworks to design and develop.

Not all those sites on our portfolio are designed by us, however we have developed software's for those companies which we don't make public because of NDA. What we rather do is just attach the website of their company.

I am open to positive and negative feedback, however you should understand that not because we don't publicize some of our projects means we don't know what we are doing.

Here are some things we have done within the past one year.

1. We have developed a solution for a company in lagos that got shortlisted by Tony Elumelu Foundation, Entrepreneurship Programme TEF2019 cause of the platform built.

2. We are working with one of interswitch partners to build a solution which would benefit both companies

3. We have built a solution for Jos electricity distribution company partners which ensures all facilities withing JEDC franchise is properly managed.

4. We have built a solution for one of Abuja electricity distribution company AEDC partners who are a meter asset provider which enables them manage all their activities and also gives them realtime update across their approved franchise area where thier meters are installed

5. We are enabling a private school in edo state manage all their day to day activities by developing a robust school management system for them

6. We have built solutions for some companies in Delta and lagos who's services are to sell airtime and data and also convert recharge card to cash, this platforms are already used by over 50,000 Nigerians already

7. We have partnered with 5 different software companies to be their solution provider as well

8. We are growing and will continue working with various companies to solve problems they face.

9. We are enabling over 25 companies to build either their backed software, mobile app, web, desktop or website.

10. We got nominated by The Gage Awards, in the website of the year category.

If the bedding e-commerce website is not up to standard, I must tell you that we respect your opinion and would look into it.

However I will also advice you to try not to be abusive, you can pass your message without been abusive.

At codefixbug, we are young developers who are trying not to compete with anyone but do our best in enabling a digital economy in the country and beyond.

I just went through your website.....the UI is an indication that you know what you are doing.

Unlike most Nigerian web developers who will go all out to saturate everywhere on the front end with multiple contrasting colors.

Though personally
I am not a fan of sliders......as they are distracting ....a web page should capture the attention of the visitor and hold it for as long as they are on the page.

Thanks for the comment on my startup website, it makes me smile.

some people like sliders, while some dont, i totally respect your opinion about it.

Have you advertised yourself on nairaland recently? If yes did you get any client? How many overall?

From 2016 till date, I have connected with a good number of people who I have rendered various ICT services to.

The amazing thing is till date those people are still my clients even after I moved from freelancing to running my own startup called www.codefixbug.com and they make up 10% of our client base.

Best Regards

Programming / Re: [Career Post] "What Are My Chances Of Getting A Job As A Web Developer?" by raymod170(m): 5:49pm On Oct 06, 2019
codemaniacs:
if you didn't study computer science or computer engineering go and get a job.... unless you want to be a freelancer.. no one would hire a self taught programmer in Nigeria .

this is my opinion..

This is actually not true, am a self taught developer and I have worked for organizations both foreign and domestic both as a developer and a consultant.

Your experience and projects matters alot, regardless.

I now run my own startup called www.codefixbug.com and I have self taught programmers who are on my team, they are also highly skilled and gifted just like me.

Kind regards

Webmasters / HTTPS: Why You Must Secure Your Websites And Applications by raymod170(m): 7:17am On Sep 23, 2019
With the tremendous increase in the number of websites and apps, there has also been an increase in the number of attacks; effective web application security must be a top priority.

In the past 10 years, the number of data breaches has grown beyond anyone expectations. This primary reason is why governments in various countries are enacting privacy and data protection regulations. Web application security is crucial because attacks against internet-exposed web apps are the top cause of data breaches. And 77 percent of web applications have at least one security vulnerability, according to Veracode’s 2017 State of Software Security Report.

Web application attacks

The method of successfully phishing a user, installing malware, and remotely controlling the infected computer without anyone noticing did not have a very high success rate. In addition, finding the data to steal required time, and the longer an attacker remained in a network, it increased their chances of being caught.

As a result, attackers began to shift their focus to exploiting web application security vulnerabilities. These attacks are significantly more efficient and effective.

Every time a user visits a website and enters their credentials, signs up for an account, opens a record of some sort, makes a purchase, etc., all of that information — including personal data — is stored on a server that sits behind that application. Taking over a website or app exploiting a software vulnerability often gives attackers free access to the data that is stored on that server.

Attackers may also inject malicious code into web forms to take advantage of applications that don’t properly sanitize what users are allowed to enter into a field. For example, instead of entering a person’s name into a Name field, hackers may enter code that is then executed the application and/or backend database, often exposing the entire database to the attacker.
