to call a spade a spade. i have not really seen anything by c4d users on this forum that's really inspiring . i feel thats why the c4d thread was even created in the first place. i have absolutely seen no modeling whatsoever. none of the works in it iv seen involve moving a single vertex or extruding a polygon but all i see is juxtaposing of geometries and premade elements and application of materials onto them.most of the works there woud hav been eyesores if they had been on the 2d/3d thread because they are just not up to the level of the ones done in the other 3d apps including the wack software. its not your friggin app but what u do with it. u can use the c4d and its easy interface or even poser! if u can provide results that rival the best then fine. dont expect us to just take your word for it with your elementary stuff. there are people that have used c4d to achieve great stuff but the ones on this forum, sorry! im just not convinced. yes c4d may actually be better than max (yea ryt! ) but the fact remains that the max users on this forum are way better than the c4d users from what i can tell. so keep using ur better app to make better crap dont go and hone your skills.

people have been known to fall ,cry like babies and even faint at ther mere sight of the late micheal jackson,elvis,beatles etc. it is no more than exploitation of a human neuropsychological phenomena. you can collapse or fall over donkey shit if you believe well enough in it. its all about the power of human beilef. scientist have proven that ill patients who were unknowingly given empty drug capsules have recovered dramatically at times even better than tose taking the real drugs. how do you think fake drugs thrive? yep! people have even consumed fake boozed and felt tipsy afterwards. there was even this incident where a skin doctor saw a boy with a nasty scar on his face and said to himself "hey i can cure this" and out of pity he even treated the boy for free. a week later the boys father came with the boy and askd the doctor "are you a man of god?" "no" the doctor said im a skin specialist and i just helped him cure a common skin affliction. the father then told him that its not a common affliction , it is a birthmark and uncurable. people with the same type of scar came from far and wide when they heard of this wonder healer. never again was the doctor able to cure the same scar because neither his nor the patients belief was absolute. the boy who was made fun of all his life for a scar which he seemed doomed to die with was so euphoric when for the first time someone said he could heal him and totally believed in desperation. such is the power of the human belief. even preachers tell u to believe when they pray for you. pagans and barbarians also have trances, convultions and blackouts under annoyingthings because of their belief for their engagements. i gess u cud say it sud count for something to your god since you had a certain degree of belief in the first place that tricked your mind to make u fall.(im not talking bout the preteding majority here). all kinda stuff can happen to u based on your mind. just like people who eat well loose weight drastically when botherd by an issue in their minds like say debt. yeah i know sounds like i got issues and i may not know wat im talkin bout (maybe im jus tired of damn hypocrites)i do know tho that its not some kinda supernatural force outside our bodies that causes it otherwise micheal jackson and a truck load of rockstars definately posess more divine power than any preacher i know.

let me get this straight. u used the front image of yar adua to automate a head mesh with facegen, cudnt export the  mesh so you just exported the image.(why the hell wud you wanna waste ya time to export a jpg image of yar adua which you already have and used to create another jpeg in the first place )
then you went and got another head model which you did'nt make , unwrapped it with your uv mapper (with tons of overlap -cud b excused tho considerin ur a newbie. was actually impressed that you even know bout uv's-and painted the jpeg onto it with your real draw.
then took your face gen jpeg generated jpeg again to poser for reference.(thats fresh tis d first tim im actualli hearin anyone using reference for modeling in poser too)

basically you took a yaradua jpeg to map your poser model.

beats me to go through all this just to achieve that. but i gess thats jus ur workflow. just thot you were always for the easiest and quickest route to result.
buh thats jus my opinion.and tho u might find them malignant, no competition thrives without it.

About the studio thing, dont go there because i have done my internship in a studio as a junior programmer in washington D.C managing there render farm and maya to toxik pipe. so i have at list basic ideas, and am studying computer science and majoring in programming but we study computer graphics in general and most schools will not just teach you modelling and leave animation or vice versa unless specialized school for those on the job looking for ways to improve ther skills or leave in an area where there is high demand for those specialities.

i must say i think that is a major minus for you. most of the guys here are here in naija and only had thier p.c's in their bedrooms to learn and they have come so far and of all the chance and opportunities u had to mingle and learn from an actual studio and take advantage of their wealth of learning resources in d.c u pretty much did badly(to put it mildly) its not the point whether ur work is good or bad and i dont wanna scare anyone away but just had to let u know that you may score some rep with mediocre nigerians by telling them bout ur d.c waste of time but on this forum your skill is your only rep.

err. not true. if you know what you are doing there's no way you can get a lower polygon mesh with z brush than maya, max, xsi etc. as for the ten years. again i say nothing good comes easy. the longer the better(as long as u know what you are doing) besides chillax. whats the rush the deadline aint even up yet.

im not beefin u man but graphic don's got a point. no animation studio(in its right state of mind) will hire you or be impressed by your work if they tell you to model a head and you go straight into facegen or z brush to sculpt some features or jus map a texture on to a head that does'nt even look like the person or unrecognisable untextured . the truth definately hurts. cud b wrong.  jus my opinion.

so that gives u the right to post your works aside other peoples works that do things the hard way with your poser stuff and even saying you can do better? or posting the same things over and over again in several other threads that it has no relevance with. are you new here? please dont insult us. there are only a few of us that use less than at least 3 applications.some of us use much much more. its called pipeline.you will hav to go through several threads and pages if ur to understand this.dont just conclude on recent posts.

If you hear that Shrek was done with POSER (I know it wasn't sha) would we run mad? POSER makes it easier to make up time with 3d modeling & animations. If I know of another software which makes it even easier than POSER I swear I'll dig into it. It doesn't make you lazy, it gives more time for more creativity.

@kemji. i gess i shud create a new login and say poser is the best software in the world jus so you can call me your new best friend.i bet it will work.

why are you thinking in 2d? you think the softwares animation studios use is just some dumb guys call. its not by accident. its softwares that have the capability to deliver the requirements. mind you ease of use (in proportion to capability)is one of the qualities that mad apps like maya, max etc a success.it they used poser to do shrek then it will be because it can deliver. not because of kemji or the name or what the graphic guys in nairaland think of it.the truth is nothing good will ever come easy. poser has its place in graphics world. but it can never be for top notch animation. at least until they upgrade and develop it much further. some years age z brush was not even on the scene. today its in just about every major hollywod and animation studio you can name. you cannot even use z brush to animate or do a lot of things things. but what it does it does it better than any other. i will tell you again if you choose to use poser or use the easy stuff its your call. just dont expect to make history even in your local government. NOTHING GOOD COMES EASY.
