I rarely touch my ivtec when driving but will cng Omo you go touch am before you get some reasonable acceleration out of it if you can carry people Omo forget say you didn't notice Mesef weak when I read his comment. Except his car as been underperforming, you will surely feel the lag when you want that instant power delivery. Cng no go give you... maybe on V6/V8 it will be slightly different. 4banger, e come be 1.8ltr?.. I go like drive his car to be sure |

Kumuyiii: 😅😅😅 Sorry bro, fortunately for me, I'm a research freak, the cng guy was telling me to go buy iridium plug it almost 100k, but me know say no be plug.... Na so mechanic make one guy waste 450k on different plugs for something wey na small problem. I'll get the IACV on Monday if God keeps me alive and well. Mine is a bit more tricky, I can't raise the rpm manual, cus in the morning, everything works well oh, rpm at idle is at 1k...so going to adjust that will be overkill and won't necessarily fix the issue, the rpm issue starts when you've driven for a long while, engine is well hot. Then e go set. 100k for Spark Plugs?.. lol when I no they drive Porsche Na 6k plug I they use since September..

Kumuyiii: Bros, cng doesn't affect any engine... What the conversion does is, it elevates the problems or condition of ur engine components . If ur plugs were weak b4, it exposes.. If ur coil was weak, it exposes.... If ur idle air control valve was weak b4, it exposes.... Cng needs all components of air controlling parts to be in prestine state. No weakness allowed, cus gas has less power than fuel. Cng is NOT the culprit or the cause of their predicament, cng only exposed what was hidden or being managed b4, let's educate ourselves please. I just collected my car yesterday, the IACV(idle air control valve) i was managing b4, now the situation is worse, so i just have to buy another unit. It's not the cng's fault. Cng burns cleaner than fuel, better for ur car and environment, that's only downside (not for me tho) is loss of power, cus once again, gas gives less power compared to fuel and also power loss due to conversion. Please attend to the IACV issue very fast.. since you drive EOD, you know how connected the throttle body and the gear is. I almost ran mad last year trying to fix banging/slipping and staying in limp mode issue when on CNG at low rpm. I even replaced the gear, thinking it was bad. That didn't solve the problem. I spent well over 700k trying to get a solution... after extensive research, I figured its Idle related issue. I told my mechanic to service the IACV, then increase the Rpm speed too 1100 at idle and 1000 on full load <ac and gear>.. case solved. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ReadaDream(m): 8:41am On Apr 04 |
demexTK: So basically you are saying, making the switch to CNG is substituting Engine Performance (Speed and touring) for gas efficiency .. If you are the type that accelerates gradually, allowing the car to gain momentum...then you have nothing to worry about. If you need instant power, switch to fuel.. Theres an obvious lag when going over a hill/bridge from total stop or after braking (gear is back to 1)..e.g Going over Ikoyi-link bridge from Gerrad/Bourdillon; the car will lag from the bridge accent... if you are going through from Admiralty, its seamless because you've already gained speed before crossing the tollgate. I dont stress my engine, I know when to switch to fuel and back to cng... the process is seamless. The issue most driver have is that, they dont want to use fuel again for any reason after they've converted to cng. Na their engine they suffer am. |

TheModerator: Radadream was driving a car with a 3.4 engine in January 2025. In June 2025, same year, he converted a different car, 04 accord to CNG. Meanwhile, in September 2025, he was buying fuel in all the filling stations in Lagos. Too many inconsistencies in his stories. I never said he lied though. Could be he's not very proficient at it or just on rentals humping from one car to the other.
Tojahh on his part would hype CNG to high heavens for his own selfish interest, nothing analytical about the real pros and cons , considering the fact that most of the cares on the platforms are jalopy.
Mr. Uber Advocate, you are yet to covert your jalopy 03 accord. Just having slippery tongue here as per usual |

Biodun1929: I never believed this would happen to me
I started hearing the sound on Saturday, I went to my mechanic...he said it only needed greasing. After he worked on it, the sound stopped. I started hearing it yesterday morning again, but it was on and off, and I was thinking of going to see him again this morning, na so the thing commot o...on my way to pick up a rider yesterday evening. Thank God it happened close to my area.
My mechanic sent his boys down last night when it happened, but they were not able to fix it enough for me to manage it home, so I had to pay the securities guarding the area to watch it overnight. I'm waiting for mechanic right now...omo, make sure you have savings in this hustle o. I just spent like 70k over the weekend on servicing the car and other things. That mechanic F'd you up.. there's nothing like greasing a ball joint that already has clearance. You either rekit if it's a tokunbo one or replace. Sorry man. I hope say no be new you they buy sha? |

Glithronix: Please we also have to be very careful. This hustle is not just about driving and making money alone, being vigilant and cautious is part of it. I perceived an unusual situation, I avoided it (simple). In the course of trying to save the situation, the unexpected come happen, you know wetin go sup after? Baba, I no get strength to dey shalaye. God won't damn me for cancelling the ride. I understand your views, though.
Much respect, sir. You are right to decline...but then again, you could be saving a life, it could just be a pregnant woman having a preterm labour...or so. Please when you can, try to show some empathy. The worst that could happen is a loss of revenue. During my wife's first pregnancy, @7months gone, she went into Preterm labour at 4am, Sangotedo, and we use Lagos Island Maternity.. at that hour, bro, no ride will get to my location easily.. thank God say I get fuel for car. Baba, I drove like a mad man!!!. At a time that construction work is already causing traffic around Sangotedo/VGC that year.. I was cutting through traffic, wife vomiting in the car and all sort.. thank God I made it to the hospital in time. She went to use 3days there before they discharged her. .....So baba., When you can please, if the situation is dire, do your part for humanity. |
