Both cars can't be compared.
If you are a stingy man and don't want to spend money kindly pick your corolla.
The corolla should be more expensive to buy but cheaper to maintain.
Es is cheaper to buy but more expensive to maintain.
Most lexus used in the usa have very high miles.

With High miles you might be changing somethings down the road.
Catalytic converter
Abs sensor
Shocks
Coil Packs
O2sensor and e.t.c
Don't get me wrong all this I listed will not spoil at once or might not even spoilt . But there's a high tendency of you replacing some in the future..

The corolla is a car I can't deal with. My bro has a 2010 corolla sport in mint condition. It's not a cool ride to own.
Noisy engine when you accelerate .
Interior parts are of low quality.
The shocks and leg components easily give in before you know it, it sounds like you have empty cans under the car.

The only reason why our people here praise it is because of greed. All we care is fuel economy. And the truth is the corolla is not the most economical in its class.
It's has basic late 90''s technology so it's easy to diagnose and repair.

And the corolla parts are not really cheap either. In fact might be expensive than some better cars.

You wouldn't know the experience I've had recently with dealers in buying and selling of cars.

The guy might know someone who knows someone who owns the car.
By the time they've all added their profits . Price gets over the roof and they will chase potential buyers who wants to buy for the value which the owner wants to sell because of greed.

Where have I said all airbag module crash data can be wiped out on all cars. I think you are the one generalising here. If I may ask how many technician have you met in lagos or in Nigeria that made you confident to ask how many technician can clear crash data on airbag module. For your piece of info not every one has time to start showing off tools like this. So next time be careful on how you generalise.

You're hiding from the main points and picking on irrelevant thing.

No need for the hard feelings I only enlightened you that it has been done here in Naija. Have done it before now which is no biggie. With the right equipment any sound engineer can do that. I only became worried when you said " if you were in USA the crash data can only be cleared there.

Read my comment again I wrote . If you were in America your module could be wiped and cleared of the crash codes.
I never said it can only be done in the usa.
Lots of road side technicians in america posts their adverts on ebay to clear crash data for only $40 and yes it's not rocket science.

You have to be careful with the way you read and understand people's Grammer and also your use of English.

Not all airbag codes can be cleared with wire like honda/acura . Or some cars that requires cheap tool's.
Kindly speak for the cars you repair. Don't use general words.

Nobody is claiming it's rocket science.
Neither did I say it can only be done in the USA.
Restoring of cars to mint condition is more common in the states. And they make sure there are no warning lights on their rebuilt car.
That's why there are services that wipe this modules . With about $40 you're good to go.

Now tell me how many dealers or technician's in this lagos can wipe a srs module.
How many Nigerians care about the airbag light on their dash . After replacing the airbag.?

If you were in America your module could be wiped and cleared of the crash codes.

is it normal for my car to consume 10litres of fuel between Jakande Estate Isolo and Festac. To and fro. I feel this car is damn thirsty.

Is this 4cylinder or V6?
Either way something is wrong with the ride sha. Maybe it needs tuneup,
Or your 02sensor / catalytic converter is missing.
Or your fans are running directly.

Your check engine light should be on.
Try and scan this ride.
