Omo those engines aren’t ‘almost the same’ o at all
The difference isn’t just ‘a few parts’, the 2GR-FSE utilizes direct injection while the 2GR-FE doesn’t. Simply put- it would probably be a better idea to buy a GS350/IS350 for example, than to attempt upgrading a 2GR-FR to 2GR-FSE.

For your piece of information I still have a dead 2GR-FSE engine lying on the ground at my workshop. Don't mislead people on this platform

While the Crosstour is made majorly for the US market, I'm sure there would be crosstours for other markets, albeit made with subtle differences and in much smaller numbers.

Using this as example, first look at the headlamps. The US/Canadian spec usually have the indicator part of the headlamps tinted orange/amber that usually turns on with the headlights. It's however absent in this Crosstour, replaced by clear lenses. Also, look at the rear lower glass of the vehicle. It isn't laminated as compared with her US/Canadian sister, which also raises the question as whether the entire laminated glass is factory or aftermarket. Look at the dash. The speed clock is calibrated in KM and not miles as in the US/Canadian spec. The mirrors are international spec though as you mentioned, they can be changed to those.
