Lol. There was a case where three women were kidnapped in US in the late 70's. Till today, those kidnappers hasn't been caught. Thousands of this cases happens everyday.

I can agree that the law enforcement agency are trying but don't compare the amount of kidnappings in America to that of Nigeria.
Lol! Can u hear urself? 70s when modern technology was a still a dream in the entire world is what u are using to give an example. Bro let's rest on this issue and let us come together and find a solution to our country, because u see this Tinubu and Co's limited we have on the scene now, those guys have nothing to offer to Nigeria and if we keep on enabling and recycling them, Nigeria will never get better even in a million years to come.

even in US people are kidnapped without traces
See yeye talk. Are we now doing comparison of kidnapping? Same US u mentioned, have u ever heard of mass kidnapping over there in the US? Or have u heard kidnappers kidnapp anyone and dear called their victims families for ransom? No, they wouldn't dear because they know they would be fish out within a twinkle of eye.

Even if u heard of kidnapping in the US, it is definitely going to be business gone wrong scenarios. But over here in Nigeria, kidnaps would kidnapped someone called the victim family, video themselves and post it on social and nothing will be done about them and u open ur yeye mouth to do comparison of kidnapping in the US and kidnapping in Nigeria.

Why do most Nigerians run away from farming
I use to be a farmer, so also was my parent. But the insecurity the politicians brought to us through the civil rule (especially Buhari useless government) made us to abandon our farms and farming business to look for other alternatives.

so u expect the government to perform magic where the locals themselves are supporting the bandits

Abi u want to tell me u didn't see the video of people at jilli in borno hailing n walking freely with bandits

The same thing is happening in south east with the locals supporting their own terrorists.

See u people should forget blaming government everytime n come to terms with the reality that government can only wipe out terrorists where locals cooperate with them
The people in the South south, South west and Middle belt like Edo, Delta, Ekiti, Ondo, Kogi, Kwara, Benue and others are also supporting those terrorists terrorising them abi? Sometimes it's better to just keep quiet if u don't know what to say rather than spewing rubbish on other people's predicament simply because u are privileged to be in an environment were the insecurity is not rampant and for that u feel that u are better than others.

All this abnormalities and atrocities keep on happening in Nigeria because there is no serious action against those that have done it before, and that's the major reason insecurity have become part of us today in Nigeria.

Look at the way insecurities and sufferings get to it highest level ever since the country was formed and u guys still have time arguing about this same useless set of politicians that has caused it all.

In theory, most of you people imagination of Asiwaju defeat in any election may be possible but practically, it can never happened going by his antecedents since when he contested election in Chicago school and won till date.

Nigerians know u guys well. Reason they just allow u to do your normal GRA GRA. After the election result in 2027 with landslide, u will change to shouting rigging as if Obi is the only person that knows how to rig and get 90% vote in his region.
See this one, sometimes I wonder if most of una head dey function well at all. Who told u I'm an Obi supporter, wetin concern me concern Obi, is Obi not part of the politicians that has made this country as backward as it is today?

Left for me it is Sowore that I want to win the next election but so unfortunate he is not structuring himself for that. I only supported Peter Obi in the last election because he was the only one who look lively among the 3 most populous candidates. Buhari was there in power for 8yrs without anything reasonable thing to show for and he never accepted responsibility for his actions not even for once and u now want me to support another old look sicking people like him to take over from him as president, as how na.

Oga I lived under Army rule and I know it was far more better than what we have today. Moreover it was u who was trying to paint the military regimes black because of what is happening in Mali today, whereas u know very well that nothing has changed even despite power be handled to the civilians for the past 27yrs now.

The politicians and the media especially the foreign media were the ones spreading propagandas that the military government were the ones holding Nigeria development all the time the military guys were in power. But today, the civilians has now had straight uninterrupted 27yrs in power without any meaningful to show for and has even takes the country more backward compared to were the military regimes left it.

nairalanda1:
If you want to end 'suffering' in NIgeria, you got to build a productive , industrial economy

But, to be honest, most Nigerians (and dare I say, most Africans), want government to share money to them. They do not want government to do things like making the economy attractive for investment, or funding more vocational and technical education, and so forth, because it would impede sharing of money.

And that leads to crap economies, and crap socieites.

Life under Army was not as idealistic as you think it was. Armed robbery, tribal crisis, economic stagnation, etc. ..all common under army rule. It's worse now because the population has grown larger and because we are now seeing the end result of decades of poor rule. Not because 'civillians'.
At the bolded, yes there were armed robberies during the military regimes, but they were trialed and killed as soon as they were been caught unlike the unseriois civilian government we have today that are even pampering terrorists talk less of armed robbers.

Talking about population, most countries in other parts of the world has also grown rapidly in terms of population in the past years but they are not troubled by the high rate of insecurities Nigeria is suffering from today

Increase in pulation is not an excuse for the insecurities in Nigeria today because the population has been growing rapidly all through the military regimes down to the present civilian rule. It is the unseriousness of the civilian government that gave room for the insecurity we are suffering today.
Foreign AffairsRe: Explosions And Gunfire As Armed Groups Launch Attacks Across Mali(photos) by Realguyman1(m): 6:16am On Apr 26
nairalanda1:
Yep, and ultimately, the problem with Africa, south of the sahara, is that when a government does not run a productive economy based on tech, and innovaiton and industries that export, this is the result.

Also, bringing in army to Nigeria won't make matters better, even bringing back an Abacha. Abacha himself is part of the problem .....no significant changes in the way the economy was run WHEN he was in charge...which contributed to the steady decline in our economy since independence. And people were suffering under his rule, same way we have suffering under tinubu today.
Like I said b4, what is happening in Africa today has gone beyond wether military government or civilian government. Even if u bring back Abacha today in Nigeria, nothing will still change unless he is ready to kill most percent of the politicians, elder statesmen and top commanders in the security agencies especially from the north.

The suffering in Nigerians especially for common Nigerians has always be there, the only difference today is that the civilian government have add to the suffering by x10 or even more without any meaningful impacts to the people and still add serious insecurity to it for Nigerians (especially common Nigerians) to be killed like animals on top the suffering they have put them.

The difference today between the military government and the civilian government is that the military government even without any reasonable development to the country were able not to multiply the suffering of the of the people at a go and as well gave the people security. But the civilian government only came to multiply the suffering of the people by x10 or even more than at a go without any reasonable development to the country and as well gave the people serious insecurity for them to be killed like animals.

The Ideology of all this extremism and other kinds of insecurities that's troubling the country today has always be there after Nigeria gained independence, the only difference then was that the military regimes were able to use force to suppress those ideologies without caring about the life's that will go for it. And that has been the peace Nigeria has been enjoying all this while until civilian government came and give them the room and power to carryout their agendas.

Yes , I can see the army rule is working very well.

Very very well
Unlike Nigeria, just the way the civil rule brought insurgency to Nigeria, that's how they brought it to Mali and other African countries suffering from insurgency today.

The insurgency in Africa today has gone beyond being a military government or a civilian government and we all know it's the politicians that are causing it, why the civilian government enabled them because most of the government officials are also part of them.

If the military guys of those days like one of Sani Abacha were still in power, there wouldn't have be any room for insurgency in the first place talk less of fighting against it.

Grass root vote abi grass root rigging? If they leave 2027 election to be free and fair, do u think Tinubu will be able to win any State in Nigeria? Tinubu already knows he stands no chance in a free and fair election in 2027 and that's why he is busy cajoling all the state governors and other top office holders to his side for them to help him rig the 2027 election from the grass hoot seamlessly.

It may be right or sustainable THEN BUT it is no longer SUSTAINABLE and what you are seeing now is the dividends of their long term actions.
Nigeria can not afford the population it has NOW for the resources around.
One man, One wife and 2 kids MAX is the best going forward if not, no matter what a goverment do, if the population growth rate is constantly higher than GDP growth rate, the country will always fail.
I never said it is right, but that's not the reason for the insecurities in Nigeria today. Yes, it might be a little part of it, but the major players of the insecurities in Nigeria today are the politicians and the government of the day enabling them because most of the officials in government are also part of it.

Shay una nor see the nonsense statements coming out from most of the head of the security officials in charge of security in the country? If the Nigeria people are ready for good governance, and a serious person takes over power, this insecurity wahala go reduce to it barest minimum within one year.

See supposed Democrats and what they are doing. Africa has a long way to go.
There has never been a time Nigeria had democracy since 1999, they only shifted from military regimes to civilian regimes and nothing else.

The only reason why Nigeria looked like a democratic country between 1999 to 2015 was because pdp use common sense in ruling the country within those period. Apc has only helped in exposing the dirty system the country is practicing since they took over power.

When Tinubu was campaigning and he said "it is my turn", it was because he had the full confidence that the people's vote doesn't count that all he needs is to be his ruling party flag bearer and nothing else and that means alot.
Foreign AffairsRe: Captain Ibrahim Traoré Says Burkina Faso Must 'forget' About Democracy by Realguyman1(m):
maasoap:
Either someone is has been lying to you or you are the one lying to yourself.

There were no terrorists or bandits problems in Nigeria at the time. If the military should start ruling Nigeria today, they can't make terrorism and banditary disappear like a magic. And they're corrupt too.

During Abacha regime, people were sleeping at the filling stations for weeks because, no petrol. People were using sawdust to cook because they couldn't afford kerosene. People were using cassava peels to make cassava flour.
How many parents could afford to send their kids to private schools like nowadays?
Firstly, explain to me how someone has been lying to me or me lying to myself?

Secondly, the people who started terrorism and banditry in Nigeria wouldn't have dear it if the military guys of those days were still in power. The people who started terrorism and banditry in Nigeria saw the unseriousness in the so called civilian government and took the advantage to create their selfish and villainy ideology in which they themselves know they wouldn't have dear with the military leaders of those days.

Yes, even if the military guys of this days takes over power, nothing will still change because the politicians has succeeded in compromising them and the people. Most of the top military commanders are as worst/even worse than the politicians and I don't see them doing anything different from the so called politicians.

Thirdly, the Abacha regime has so many difficulties compared to other military regimes because he wasn't dependent to foreign aid or borrowing recklessly like the civilian government we have today, and there were no much private schools those days like it is littered everywhere in Nigeria today, the few private schools then were big schools that not everyone could afford even till date. Beside, if the government schools were ok there wouldn't be any need for a lot of people (especially the commoners) going through difficulties in other to put their children in private schools.
Foreign AffairsRe: Captain Ibrahim Traoré Says Burkina Faso Must 'forget' About Democracy by Realguyman1(m):
Judolisco:
Military rule is not the best way either
But in the case of Nigeria, the military regime were far more better than the civilian rule that we have now. At least the military regime were able to curb insecurity to it barest minimum and never imposed a sudden hardship on the people in the name of propaganda reforms or change that is not happening.

At least security of life and properties is the best thing any government in the world can give to his people especially the helpless common citizens. But over here in Nigeria, security of life and properties has become a joke since the politicians took over government in the name of democracy which even they the politicians are not practicing.
PoliticsRe: Cooking Gas In Nigeria More Expensive Than Saudi Arabia, Russia, India, Others by Realguyman1(m):
Richtaiwo:
Russia and Saudi Arabia are far wealthier than Nigeria, yet Nigeria’s population is nearly double that of Russia and more than triple that of Saudi Arabia.

To compare the minimum wage of Russia or Saudi Arabia with that of Nigeria is as senseless as placing the household of Dangote side by side with that of an overburdened vulcaniser struggling to provide for two wives and eleven children. That is foolishness.
Why always using population to justify Nigerian leaders inability to do the right thing for the country? The founding fathers of Nigeria used population as an excuse to bind Nigeria together, they justify that all regions with it population coming together to work as one Nigeria will bring prosperity and development to Nigeria.

So why are most u guys today now giving excuses on behalf of the government that Nigeria population is part of the reason that the government is performing? The government of most other populated countries are using the population as advantage to development their countries why most Nigerians are in Nigeria giving excuses on behalf of the government.
