A CHILDREN TEACHER:
The children teacher is a believer who loves and value children, loves and obeys Jesus Christ, and understands that he is called to lead children to Christ. He understands the following about children.

A. SPIRITUAL QUALITIES
1. LOVE: John 21:15-19. An effective Children-teacher loves the children in the same way Jesus loves them. Love for them compels him to be their teacher.
2. HUMILITY: Matt. 20:25-28; Phil. 2:5-8. An effective Children-teacher must be humble in order to minister to children. This quality will make the children listen to him and draw near to him.
3. PRAYERFULNESS: Col. 4:12, Lk 6:12.
Prayer is the key that opens the door of success and fruitfulness.
Every effective Children-teacher must be a prayerful christian.
4. FAITHFULNESS: Matt. 25:21. This quality enables a children-teacher to be trusted and depended upon. God respects the faith of his faithful servants and approves their ministries.
5. HOLINESS: 1Peter 1:15 -16, Heb.12:14,1Tim2:22.
Holiness is the evidence of Christ's presence in the life of a believer. This quality of a children-teacher challenge the children and helps to draw them nearer to Jesus.
6. SPIRIT OF FORGIVENESS: Mark 11:25-26. This quality enables Children-teacher to bear with the children their bad behaviours and accusations/criticism from other people. It enables an effective Children-teacher to improve the ministry.
7. PATIENCE: James 5:7. A children-teacher must be patient in order to see the result of his input.
This quality enables an effective Children-teacher to improve ministry.
8. GENTLENESS: 2Tim. 2:24. This quality draws children to the teacher and makes them to love him.
9. COMPASSION: Matt. 9:36, 14:14. This quality compels the Children-teacher to be committed to his teaching and to care for the children.
10. COURAGE: Joshua 1:6-7. Children are exposed to many dangers and are the target of many satanic groups. Children-teachers therefore need this quality in order to deliver them and lead them to Christ.
B. PHYSICAL QUALITIES
1. CARING: 1Peter 5:2-5 . Children-teachers needs this quality in order to be able to visit the children under them and make them feel important.

CHILDREN AS POTENTIAL AGENTS OF CHANGE IN THE CORRUPT SOCIETY.
As the world is expanding, so also morality is degenerating. Many of us apportion blame on one another for the societal woes. Up till this moment, the effect of decadence has not been addressed. Nigeria society is a Case study, where corruption has pervaded every system of which no institution is left out . Meanwhile, several efforts are being made to tackle the challenges of corruption but to no avail.
However, everybody is clamouring for change in the every area that needed change as if the word change is the only miracle that can transform our decayed society. Ignorantly, many people forget to understand that if the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3). This poses a sensitive question which every one should ruminate upon and provide reasonable answer that can cause moralization in this demoralized world. The foundations that were destroyed according to this scriptural statement could be likened to children in this contemporary society. Therefore, by divine knowledge the following are the causes of degradation in our society. And philosophically once a problem is identified, it is half solved.
It is discovered that the important of a child has been marginalized. Our knowledge about their hidden abilities as endowed by God is shallow. To be point blank, the present societal problem boil down on the inability of the three institutes that are supposed to be responsive and responsible for the training of children in the way that can make them useful instrument for better society. The institutions include: family institution (Home), educational (Church in this context). Most Importantly, family institution. An adage says, charity being at home while the Bible substantiate it by saying "train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" (proverbs 22:6).
Disappointedly, today, Indigenous education has been through into the wind in some homes , little wonder morality as one of the major solutions to the corruption in our society is declining. From biblical perspective, for us to have understanding that children can be effective tools which are capable of bringing a change into the corrupt society, may I showcase their important in the plan of God as follows:
a. The Israelites were given specific instructions to train their children in the things of God which attract two-fold rewards such as (i) things would go well with them (ii) and the nation, Isreal would increase mightily. ( Deu. 6:1-7) .
b. God chose Abraham, a covenant partner on the basis of Abraham's willingness to train his offsprings (Gen. 18:19). In the same vein, every great parent must be willing to pattern the lives of his children or wards in the way of the Lord.
c. In the Holy scripture, God used children who know Him to accomplish His will on the earth. Example Examples are:

The glorious vision of evangelizing our children in the Diocese of Ekiti West is one of the successes the pioneer Bishop, The Rt. Rev'd Samuel Oludare Oke (Rtd) attained right from the inception/inauguration of the Diocese in November 22nd, 1999. His unwavering commitment to evangelism paved way for the establishment of children's department as well as the creation of the office of the Diocesan Anglican Children Ministry (ACM) Superintendent in the year 2006 which Mrs. Afolayan Lucia Funmilayo pioneered. This was when the Diocese was zealous to establish her footing holistically. Hence, the ministry took off on a very good spiritual foundation.

A formidable team ably led by the Diocesan Superintendent was sponsored by the Diocesan to attend the Anglican Children Ministry National Teachers Conference in Lagos Province that same year (2006) to vitalize and enlist their interest even at the National level.

This kindled the evangelical spirit in the ministry of 'Catch them young for Christ', the motto of Anglican Children Ministry of the Church of Nigeria.
