Bruno Fernandes,Manchester United’s talisman, won December’s Premier League Player of the Month award – receiving the award for the fourth time in 2020.

The Portuguese playmaker has also equalled the four times Cristiano Ronaldo received the award when he was at Old Trafford in the space of less than a year with the club.

He became the first player to win the award four times in the same calendar year.

Fernandes scored 3 goals and did 3 assists in ManU’s Premier League matches in December. His impact contribute United climbing to their current position at the top of the table.

Overall, during what has turned out to be a highly fruitful player campaign signed in January last year by Sporting Lisbon, he has 15 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

In February, June and November, Fernandes had earlier scooped the player of the month award. He became the first player since Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in March 2018 to win it in back-to-back months.

It is , with no doubt, possible that Fernandes will soon be contesting Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, who currently hold the record for the player with the highest “player of the month” prizes, 7.

During his time playing for United, he is now equal with the four won by Paul Scholes and just once behind former United strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Deer all over North America are dying due to a mysterious disease that slowly renders the animals’ nervous systems useless.

Scientists are really worried that the infection could find its way to humans.

Chronic wasting disease — also known as “zombie deer disease” — was initially discovered in 1967 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and since then had infected wild herds in 24 states and Canada, also in South Korea and Norway, NPR reported.

“CWD transmits from animal to animal via prions, misfolded proteins that cause other proteins to misfold around them,” NPR reported. “Many prion diseases don’t tend to just harm specific species, but also evolve to overcome those limitations.”

In some herds, up to half of the animals are prions carriers.

However, direct contact is not the only way prions transmit. According to The New York Times, ill animals and cadavers are liable to spread prions via plants and soil, which may be covered with deformed proteins for many years, perhaps even more than 10 years.

An infected animal can live 2 years before showing symptoms — such as a vacant stare, thick saliva, ribs showing or drooping heads — all which become apparent.

So far, no human illnesses as a result of the disease has been reported, and scientists do not have conclusive proof that infected meat has ever be harmful to people, suggesting there exist a “species barrier” between humans and deer....

Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa will be the James Bond of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the forthcoming Black Panther film.

Creed and Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler is steering the long-awaited superhero movie for Marvel Studios, according to a script he co-wrote with American Crime Story writer-producer, Joe Robert Cole, with Boseman repeating his role as the superhero Black Panther from Anthony and Joe Russo’s Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel has been testing with different genres and types of stories when it comes to their superhero movies lately. Their first trial was with the Russo’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier(2014), where they built a political thriller which involved the Cold War.

And then Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man(2015) was hyped as a comedy-heist film, while Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming(2017) was perceived as a coming-of-age comedy. All three actually worked out really well, now Marvel is planning to go into the spy genre.

An interview with Total Film revealed how Ryan Coogler explained Marvel Studios’ interest in making Black Panther their James Bond film, with T’Challa, of course, being a superhero version of 007

“When I initially started talking to Marvel, I noticed one thing they were interested in was for Panther to be their James Bond version, which I thought was awesome. It was actually an out-of-the-box form to view T’Challa. There’re some Bond movies that I really, really like, and it gave me the chance to go see some other ones.”

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi has reportedly been retrieved from all Chinese theaters 2 weeks after it released in the country.

We got a report an earthquake reaching up to 5.7 on the Richter scale hit some parts of Taipei on Wednesday afternoon (Jan 17), according to the government, with many witnesses reporting buildings rocking in downtown Taipei.

Taiwan’s mountainous Beitou District suffers most from this hit as the earthquake struck 12 miles east of the capital at a depth of 140 km below the surface, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

No casualties have been reported so far and destruction to buildings shows to be low.

Just days after he boasted about the size of his "nuclear button" in response to North Korea's leader, President Trump said Thursday that he has a "very good relationship" with Kim Jong Un.

"I probably have a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, " Mr. Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "I have relationships with people. I think you people are surprised."

But when asked if he's spoken with Kim, Mr. Trump said, "I don't want to comment on it. I'm not saying I have or haven't. I just don't want to comment."

On Wednesday, the president said he's willing to consider diplomatic talks with North Korea. According to a readout of a call with South Korea President Moon Jae-In, "President Trump expressed his openness to holding talks between the United States and North Korea at the appropriate time, under the right circumstances."

Mr. Trump called Kim "short and fat" on Twitter in November and has previously called him "rocket man" and a "bad dude" and a "maniac."

Just last week, the president bragged about the size of his "nuclear button" and how it's "much bigger & more powerful" than North Korea's. "North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.' Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!" Mr. Trump tweeted.

The president suggested to the Wall Street Journal that his name-calling eventually pays off.

"You'll see that a lot with me," he said about combative tweets, "and then all of the sudden somebody's my best friend. I could give you 20 examples. You could give me 30. I'm a very flexible person."

Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden and Admiral Mike Mullen have said over the last week that they believe the U.S. has never been closer to nuclear war with North Korea.

In an interview with PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff, Biden was asked if he agrees with Admiral Mike Mullen's sentiment that the U.S. has never been closer to a nuclear exchange with the rogue state.

"Yeah, I do," Biden said. "And that's why I think that what I worry about -- and I'm worried from the beginning -- is about fundamental miscalculations. This is not a business deal. This is not about who builds the next skyscraper."

President Donald Trump has reportedly referred to Haiti and African countries as "s***hole countries" during a meeting with congressional leaders in the Oval Office.

After ideas for restoration projects to help immigrants in Haiti, El Salvador, and African countries were floated as a potential part of a bipartisan immigration deal, the President grew frustrated.

"Why are we having all these people from s***hole countries come here?" Mr Trump asked, two people briefed on the meeting told the Washington Post.

The members of Congress were meeting with Mr Trump as a part of efforts to find a solution to America's immigration problems, which Mr Trump made a central theme of his campaign.

Since taking office, Mr Trump has ended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for several groups in the US, including for Haitians and for people from El Salvador. Haitians became able to apply for TPS following the 2010 earthquake that devastated the Caribbean island nation, and from which Haiti has still not recovered. People from El Salvador qualified for the program as a result of the dangerous conditions they faced back home, where murder rates have skyrocketed as a result of gang violence there.

The President has said that he would not consider an immigration overhaul unless money is put aside to fund the construction of his much talked about border wall, even though that wall is anything but popular among members of Congress.

The Oval Office are just the latest instance in which Mr Trump has referred to Haitians in a questionable manner. Earlier reports indicated that Mr Trump had expressed disgust for immigrants from Haiti, and claimed that all of the individuals coming to the US from the island have "AIDS".

Ex Treasury Secretary Jack Lew stated that US President Trump has been benefiting from luck so far with the economy — and he advised that at times, luck runs out.

In an interview at the Politico Money podcast, Lew said the global economy had incredibly endured the first year of Trump’s presidency compared to number of years under President Barack Obama, who had appointed him to his past post.

“They have had lots of luck all he while,” Lew said. “We, in our first few years and for a long time, there was a crisis that gushed that you just had to correct.”

Future governments in Britain will require policies to regulate the threat of robots replacing half of the country’s jobs presently done by humans, a report has warned.

Growth in robotic technology and artificial intelligence (AI) imply that in the next 10 to 20 years, 44 percent of jobs may be automated and that machines will yield earnings of £290bn, one third of the prevailing UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The number was the decision of a report by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), which stated that automation would take over parts of the United Kingdom, like the North East of England and Northern Ireland.

And this automation will largely affect the low-skilled sector of the economy.

The Guardian, in a report released in April this year stated that more than 10 million jobs in UK which constitute a third of the total jobs is thought to be at risking the next 20 years which required IPPR to start taking proper measure at this time.

This means that dislodging corruption’s hold over Nigeria starts with dislodging its hold on the Nigerian mentality, forcing people to revolt against the status quo and to demand better of themselves first and others second. Changes to law and institutions will come later, but it starts with people. Unless Nigerians choose to stop participating in and enabling corruption, the country will not move forward.
