You can. Chat me up too or reply here Can also assist with the right skills to learn. Don't have money to give too though |
Personally would get the elantra or sonata 2019 upwards though if it's well maintained and I know the history, a 2012 car is just too old and lacks so many safety and basic features, in 6 months time you would want to upgrade the Camry. Just ensure the sonata or elantra is in top condition and maintain it properly do 5k mile (8k km oil changes and filter) drain and refill your transmission fluid once you get it, drain and refill your coolant fluid too, car doesn't like overheating at all Do that and you good and can get 250,000 miles from it, just maintain it properly to OEM standard and don't cut corners or remove thermostat or allow rewires to do nonsense on it |
calabaman:Lol didn’t even see that post lol. So so untrue , in fact if you driving long distance using your AC , you actually save gas compared to not using AC reason is due to drag and all. Also in modern cars not necessary to always put off your AC or on when you off your car and put it on , makes no difference car is designed for that. Anything you do always ask or check the engineering design behind it and reason why instead of listening to some roadside mechanic that can’t use an OBd2 scanner correctly . No offence , I rather listen to those that designed the car than spare parts sellers |
Dynamicboss:While it’s really impressive , I always advise change oil in miles driven to a large extent for instance every 5k miles (8,000km) is highly recommended for engine longevity and only use synthetic oil and the right viscosity as stated in your owners manual or on the oil cap . Only exception to this rule is if you don’t drive much or often so if for instance you’ve driven 5,000km in 7 months change the oil regardless, cause even though you haven’t driven up to 8k kilometers, oil generally break down and degrade even when not in use |
HenryWilliams:Exactly and correct, though always drive gently for 2-3 minutes first before hitting full throttle. Highly recommended in modern engines for longevity |
Emeka71:Nop, it actually doesn’t save fuel and makes the engine work more and die faster |
GVTAsiwaju:Depends if it’s a 50/50 mix don’t , drain the water and use only coolant, if you using a concentrate then yes but regardless a drain and refill is always better to do . |
Fkj202004:So usually it’s changed every 5 years or 100k kilometres, some manufacturers recommend 60k kilometers change, check your owners manual if you don’t have a physical copy in your glove compartment box , check it online . But always always always USE THE RECOMMENDED COOLANT AND NEVER EVER USE A GENERIC OR UNIVERSAL BRAND ONLY RECOMMENDED COOLANT SHOULD BE USED PKEASE. |
BlackKafka:So true , water alone isn’t just ideal at all and causes lots of damage |
Fkj202004:So certain coolant are a 50/50 mix and it’s pre mixed so you don’t use water again while some are concentrate, for those you can use water and mix with it . So depending on the coolant you have . |
dru23:So true , they don’t want to educate themselves , they do rubbish and argue with you . Some don’t even have basic OBD2 scanner literally in 2025 or even 2026 we about to enter . Also , I blame the car owners you spend over 10 m on an important machine and can’t use 10 minutes to do a simple research , many don’t know oils need to be changed every 5k miles using recommended oil viscosity Transmission fluid need to be drained and refilled at 60k miles , and then 30k miles, if you buy a tokunbo car and it’s over 150k miles just forget doing this , it might slip , just keep using the transmission until it fails but less than that please do a drain and refill not a flush Coolant drain and refill every 5 year or 100k kilometers and then 60k going towards Brake fluid every 2 years For AWD cars, differential fluids every 60k miles Spark plugs every 100k kilometres using Idrium plugs And little things like these, they just keep driving the car until it all falls apart and then blame the brand These fluids mentioned don’t cost an arm and a leg but could save you millions in needing a new engine or transmission or radiator and all Also keep your car interior and dashboard clean, use dashboard cleaners and all |
dru23:Exactly what I was trying to point out to the guy . Our mechanics have done so much damage it’s scary . |
goodman55:While it’s a beautiful piece from an engineering perspective you wrong Modern engine are designed to be warmed for 30-60 seconds . Warming it for long actually does the opposite as it doesn’t reach operating temperature early rather the right way is warm it for 30-60 seconds and drive gently for 2-5 minutes before hitting full throttle . That’s the right way it’s done . Check your sources all cars are literally designed this way to a large extent |
See lots of interesting submissions Don’t know the prices in Nigeria but would advise stick with Toyota, Lexus and those kind of brands if you can get a Mazda Cx-5 2016 upwards , it’s a fantastic car too . Avoid an abused car and do a thorough inspection Also , be rigorous with your maintenance once you get the car , change your fluids , do a simple drain and refill on differential fluids , coolant , *Transmission fluid* with transmission fluid if it’s a low mileage less than 100k proceed otherwise above 110k miles proceed with caution But no fluid is a lifetime fluid it’s all company marketing , all fluids break down Keep your car clean, change your oil every 5k miles religiously, change cabin and air filter once dirty , keep your tire psi according to owners manual and all . |
2cribz:What’s Alternate moniker? Is that username or? |
2cribz:Honestly to be truthful I get where you coming from he got the Car December 4th 2024 if I’m not mistaken, I think the car is super reliable but he loves cars and does a lot of preventive maintenance and doesn't manage things , hence why it feels that way . Naturally Nigerians to a large extent have very very bad maintenance culture and only change things when the car doesn’t start or can barely move , they drive with so many lights on dashboard , funny sounds from their car , they drive like that for years so it feel like they don’t spend , but ideally what he’s doing is the proper way to maintain a car and get it to 300k miles or more. If anything breaks fix it immediately, do lots of preventive maintenance like Transmission fluid change , Cabin and engine Air filter , Spark plug change , coolant flushes , Differential fluid changes , and all. Nigerians don’t do it at all lol. Until those components pack up then they start blaming village people and all. |
olaolaking:Lol, then he can buy the 2013 then. He asked for advise , he’s new to the Mac world and I broke everything down giving pros and cons , even said he can buy 2013 but listed the tasks it can do comfortably , if those tasks fall under what he does day to day , by all means he can buy the 2013 with peace of mind and it serves him , but if he has heavy things to do , the 2013 sadly would be crawling and slow, Not exchanging words with you, Charlie I don’t have that in me at all. No stress |
olaolaking:2013 MacBook in 2025. That MacBook would be crawling literally and struggle with basic apps. Like I even highlighted intel based MacBook are so slow and struggle a lot , but if he wants a MacBook by all means he should aim for a 2016+ upwards at least . Or he should look at windows PC’s But a 2013 MacBook can only work if he’s using it for very very light things and basic things like browsing, watching movies and all. But no heavy coding , video editing and all. It can’t work properly at all. |
Would break it down for you , Long time MacBook User here, would advise based on your budget just forget a MacBook and get a Windows PC for that range , even those above saying from 750k and above avoid those MacBooks too , in fact from a deep deep knowledge any MacBook with an Intel chip isn’t worth it at all . If you want to get a MacBook and enjoy it with peace of mind and be a little future proof get the ones with an M1 chip and above , minimum should be an M1. Apple basically are stopping support and lots of things for Intel based MacBooks in fact my previous MacBook was a 2017 MacBook Pro and it’s no longer supported and that’s the 750k or 800k laptop that they were saying you should get and I’m even saying that isn’t even good at all, it’s slow , no support , and all. But if you insist then feel free but expect laggy performances from time to time and all. Finally, with windows PC you have way more options and selections to choose from with literally any reasonable budget just have to do pros and cons and ask yourself certain questions like What’s your aim or goal for the laptop Are you buying for long term usage or short term usage Are you gaming with it and all |
Port443:Lovely, that's amazing, just ensure you change other fluids and all. It's a really lovely drive but I'm so in love with Mazda now lol. Next car was looking at BMW but after all the scary things I've seen would stick with the Mazda brand and get the CX-90 |
2cribz:Quite scary. So even buying it from Mobil filling station directly doesn't guarantee it would be original or? |
Is yours the F-sport trim ? Also , check your Cabin Air filter and Engine Air filter If your car is AWD from the documentation you’ve done so far would advise you get your differential oil changed or plan on doing so . It usually last 30,000-60,000 miles then needs a change Then brake fluid lasts 2 years , check that too if possible Don’t also forget to do a tire rotation every time you change your oil and filter . Really great for even wear if tires. I always do mine . Lovely documentation |
Port443:Read the tread from beginning . Amazing how you maintain your car, I’m a big believer and lover of consistent Car maintenance. Pennzoil is a great oil however I personally use Mobil 1 0w20 Advanced fuel economy and either use a Bosch filter or a Mazda filter , my car is a 2017 Mazda cx-5 lovely drive . Wanted to get the 2016 Rx350 but was too expensive for me.

Realteeyee123:Here chief . Thanks |
iykecollins1:Hi didn’t get a reply chief |
minista94:Yh sighted it, the green one is good. Ensure it’s the OEM and not a fake you get. Buy from a reputable store, or don’t know if Total filling station sells some. Or the Toyota place at around I think Ladipo area or so. |
Price of this engines and gears please Mazda Cx5 2017- engine and gear prices Nissan Sentra 2014- transmission price These two vehicles thank you so much |
Babatundehy:Absolutely correct . Never follow manufacturers life time fluid . All fluids breakdown and nothing like life time fluid, changing your fluid at 100,000 miles is highly recommended, a simple drain and refill never a flush . Remember when they say lifetime they actually mean the warranty of the vehicle which is around 5-8 years mark roughly 150k miles . But if you intend on getting to 300,000+ miles or more you need to do a drain and refill or prepare to buy a new transmission. So always ahead of your fluid changes not just transmission but Coolant , Brake , engine , differential fluids , power steering fluid if you have one. Would always make your components last way longer and give you peace of mind always . |
minista94:We need the Year, model, make, and all. But for best information check your owners manual . If you don’t have one it’s the Toyota ATF-WS (World Standard) transmission fluid That’s the green bottle |
Beermoney1:While I totally Understand where you coming from it’s not entirely correct So would break it down In his case for instance, he needs to immediately do a drain and refill with the recommended Toyota Fluid. Only Recommended Fluid no substitute or alternative. If it has a burnt smell and the mileage is over 150k miles and it’s never been done before. Then what you saying can happen, because the fluid has broken down to the point where it’s not a lubricant anymore but rather has broken materials inside it that helps prevent the transmission from slipping , at this point changing it could do more harm than good, because after changing it the transmission could slip. But if it’s less than 150k miles and transmission shifts fine no issues and it Doesn’t have a burnt smell do a simple drain and refill and the do same every 40k miles going forward But in all you do never ever ever do a fluid flush And go for a reputable workshop not a Kazeem please, it might be more expensive but transmissions are very sensitive and require top professionals with the right tools Don’t cut corners in this please . Hope I was able to clearly break it down and help. |
