ednut1:Just curious ednut1, which is better US or Canada? |
Shawl001:Lol Canada is there now check the list |
girlhaley:Was find my IPhone on? If it was log into another IPhone, IPad or MacBook with your Apple ID and track the device easily. |
advanceDNA:I get you . I used form A too you correct on that angle, check that stuff again and I think the 6k plus is per semester not full Tution, cause these guys are funny . He would be truly sure when he get his letter of Acceptance. Cause mine also showed similar stuff and my full Tution was like 19k plus but per semester it’s like 9k or so , I feel it’s 6k per semester and like 13k plus full tuition. He needs to confirm with the school too and not assume. I get you it’s doable but not easy but we Nigerians , since Independence nothing has been easy lol . I think proof funds too needs to be in the account for like 6 months or so , something like that. |
gimakon2:It’s a good college in Ontario . They offer PGWP. Any college you going for ensure it’s a DLI institution and they offer PGWP not all colleges are on the list so check the immigration website to confirm. Ensure the college you select is on the list and offers PGWP, https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html |
@op the advantage though Canada has more than Uk. and other countries I know of is there isn’t any 20hrs work week cap and all, you can work unlimited hours as a student now in Canada. All you need is to find the right balance between work and studies , so you can make so much money if you smart and all. And if you coming don’t get addicted to Tim Hortons lol . I am though trying to stop it lol |
Starzo:You correct. Ghana isn’t what it used to be 100 percent . I’m surprised Nigerians hype that place thought I’m grateful spent 4 yrs doing bachelors there but the country has changed so much. Inflation is so high . Transportation is so expensive. Literally everything, even the power we praise isn’t 24/7 like it once used to be though the power is still better than Nigeria but comparing it to what it once used to be it’s poor now. Lots of Ghanaians too are migrating just like us too. |
Rent in Canada is monthly but most landlords might require you pay 2 months or 3 months upfront and they always require a credit check and would do a pre-authorized debit and some might require a one year contract. Lots of other expenses to do in the country too like shopping and feeding . Honestly 5m you need to really look at the big picture especially if you have no one where you going it can be really difficult. You would literally need a job 2 weeks or less after landing . It’s crazy mehn. I’m not in Europe but have friends there I feel smaller European countries are cheaper to migrate too. Just the issue of language barrier and all. But lots of Nigerians use them as transit point to later migrate to the United States. Canada , Australia or the UK. You can also consider that pathway too |
advanceDNA:Now you lost me . 1.5m to cover First semester Tution, Flight ticket and Visa fees. Not possible under the heavens. Don’t forget he needs to provide proof of funds that would cover 1yr living expenses and he’s full Tution fees. Canadians don’t joke they deny student visa anyhow unlike the UK that’s pretty easier to get their student visa. Canada study permit is quite difficult to get . Lots of denials . You need to cross every thing on their box . Hope you know the exchange rate currently and Form A only covers Tution payment. Doesn’t cover flight ticket and visa fees. Then you have PTA of $4k all in USD. Form A officially deals with USD not CAD but if you paying Tution you would be debited the USD equivalent of the Canadian dollar here . Honestly 5m for a study visa is Not easy. For Canada people use 10m and still need assistance too. |
Dukeofotukpo:Lol ![]() |
brandsoncharlie:Charlie Ghana Dey messed up ridee. Dema president fool waaa. Menes Dey bore waaa. Ghana isn’t how it was 8yrs ago . Isn’t juicy again . Inflation Dey high waa. |
Would advise you try other European countries too. Don’t consider any African countries even South Africa too. Someone was saying Ghana lol. Did my bachelors at Kwame Nkrumah University of science and technology Kumasi. Nothing in Ghana . Lots of my Ghanaian classmates are In the Uk and US . Ghana is in a mess right now. Similar fate with lots of African countries too. |
advanceDNA:You correct. Well I’m a bit surprised though . I’m in Ontario and my fees are really high 9k plus so surprised there was a cheaper school lol . Kind of sucks . But to comfort myself @op that region is really cold . So factor that in too. And it’s not as diverse as Ontario with respect to different racies and cultures. |
advanceDNA:It’s domestic student that pay that amount in Canada. International students pay way more. |
I work hard though but sometimes I feel I’m lazy sef , you can make so much money in Canada if you have the brains, right mindset and aren’t lazy. Nice one op . Though I’m studying so don’t have much time to juggle both to maximum Efficiency too. |
mizz2posh:Really funny all those stuffs are available literally in Canada |
This might sound funny but all the while in Nigeria I underestimated Aboniki balm but Canada made me know the value of Aboniki. @ednut 1 , do you use Aboniki |
ednut1:It really stinks big time. |
Saverin:Exactly really scary. I feel a lot of people that have the opportunity to leave and don’t leave might look back with some regret. Funny thing is after 10yrs or so of getting citizenship and saving money no one stops you from coming back but at that stage you have leverage and a second option. Nigeria is sweet when you have a way out and leverage |
@ednut 1 I really love your analysis on the various japa topic it’s very insightful and educative. Please continue doing the good work you doing . God richly bless you. |
I think people who say people shouldn’t japa are wicked and evil. A lot of them have either gone, can’t go or are very comfortable in Nigeria and don’t want the progress of others. Leaving Nigeria legally with a good plan is the best decision one can make. |
cunny88:Exactly she blew it. She’s just giving excuses. At the end we are all responsible for our actions. |
Nice nice, but can you go into details more would be very helpful |
Study route is the best. Though it also depends on the country you looking at, Canada , United States, in your situation Study route is the most preferred, since you don’t have a masters degree, you can apply and go for a masters degree programme, with respect to cost, look at scholarship programmes, that would help reduce cost significantly. Also another way is one person say your wife goes with the kids through study and then she applies for you to come over literally few months after she’s there , while she schools and work 20hrs per week, you would be eligible to work full time. Do your research though if you opt for European countries, cause I’m in Canada and a little familiar with the system. I think European countries say UK differ though. Best of luck Sir. |
But thinking about it, you can't really blame Nigerians for choosing the UK, Canada and Australia is very very very hard to get their visa, UK is a bit easier, so most people don't get Canada or Australia and their only option is the UK, so they are left with either taking it or remaining in Nigeria until Canada or Australia clicks, remember time is ticking age isn't on their side. But I Know people who go to the UK and after their studies apply for Australia or Canadian PR. |
Really interesting and educative thread Personally I don't like the UK due to issues of ease of residing there after studies. Australia, Canada, Germany and few other countries have transparent Immigration laws and it's a bit easier to reside legally after studies compared to the UK |
Perfecttouchade:Aaah wahala oooo |
Also are you planning on relocating using the study route or ? If it's a visit visa would be difficult cause of the many restrictions you would face with respect to getting a job and all |
Well , would advice South Korea, Austria , Poland, Portugal, Finland due to your budget of 2m But Canada , United States and Australia, Germany too are really good countries if you can afford it. |
daezy22:God immensely bless you I'm so so happy |
[quote author=daezy22 post=115144822]For Georgian college (payment through flywire with form A) https://payment.flywire.com/pay/payment Input your country and the amount you want to pay then click next Select the first option which says “ International Bank Transfer in Canadian Dollars (CAD)” Fill in the necessary details, submit and save your invoice.
