It's the same tactic Trump and MAGA do in the US. Their arguments are weak and when they called out on their weak arguments, they aren't capable of supporting them. So they just lie and Lie Repeatedly, then Lie some more. And just flood the space with lies. Just like Lord Dumfuq (his new name). I can't conclude yet on this. This is common for most right wing MAGA on this site. Most of what you post is some form of lie you find on Right wing propaganda sites. When you get called out on your lie, you double and triple down on it. And then become a troll.
You pretend you live in the US. You don't. You pretend you understand polling, you clearly don't. If you did, you wouldn't be trying to equate two polls from two different pollsters with two different methodologies. Or you wouldn't be asking why two different polls taken 24 hours apart would be different. I mean.. wtf? The same poll surrounding a major event can be different if taken 1 hour apart if that is enough time for information to saturate. Let alone talking about a 2nd poll from a 2nd different pollster.
You are like intellectual fluff. You like to sound smart to yourself without the actual smartness or understanding of what you are talking about . Lol.. So, you lie.

Politics / Akpabio's Uncultured Outburst To Natasha; An Action That Must Be Eschewed By All by reccy(m): 4:54pm On Jul 20 |
In what appeared to be a breach of legislative injunction and a direct verbal assault on the personality of Distinguish Senator Natasha Akpoti Oduaghan, senator representing the good and proud people of Kogi central senatorial district, I write to condemn in entirety the demeaning act of the Senate president. The assault is not just for her person but to the generality of Kogi central she's representing at the red chamber.
I'm speaking today not as an opposition but as a member of her constituents. Elections has gone, it's time for governance, and we must all stand firm to commend and criticize the actions and inactions of our leaders regardless of affiliations.
Looking at the scenario that necessitated the undeserving and unpatriotic words of the senate president, our skillful senator hasn't done much wrong rendering her voices after several attempt to call for permission. Besides, she immediately seek pardon aftermath which signifies her deep understanding of modules operandi of the plenary.
But for the hyper-reactive president whose unguided utterances became evident considering his previous activities at the hallow champer decides to go the usual way by throwing gibberish on her person — this is very wrong and unprofessional. A caliber like Akpabio should exhibit a culture that agrees with his position as the number third citizen of the country.
Without been political in my submission because it's needless at this time, I will say Natasha has done extremely well within the little time she has spent in office. Her moves and approaches has further widen our knowledge about the instrumentality of the legislative office and their vast oversight responsibilities. No doubt, she's already toeing the path of effective and impacting legislative representation. A talk for another day!
Despite being an ardent member of the progressive family and an unrepentant Ododo supporter, it doesn't stop me from commending the good work of the opposition and criticize where necessary. Same also goes to my own political party. It is expedient i put this record straight, the display of loyalty is not measured on how blind you are to facts but how committed you are to see your party "doing the talk". This is what will stand us a chance before our people going to the future.
Seeing mixed reactions got me worried. protecting our image at the national coffer remains our collective responsibility regardless of our differences. I do not see reasons why we should be political in issues of this kind if at all we want to genuinely build a society devoid of prejudice.
Everyone's political ideas differs. I won't see reasons to join the wagon of peddling needless heat of the polity because of differences in political affiliations. Let criticism of her person be issue-based. That's what progressive family epitomizes.
Natasha is a proud daughter of the land, and a senator representing us at the national assembly. we must rise to fight any attempt to denigrate her person for gratuitous reasons.

Politics / Kogi Poll: Appeal Court Upholds Ododo’s Election As Governor Of Kogi State by reccy(m): 4:54pm On Jul 11 |
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Usman Ododo as the Governor of Kogi state.
The appellate court on Thursday backed the verdict of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja which had affirmed Ododo’s election victory.
The tribunal had dismissed the petition filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its governorship candidate, Murtala Ajaka.
Legal disputes Nairametrics previously reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Usman Ododo, as the winner of the keenly contested November 11, 2023 Kogi State Governorship Election.
The state Returning Officer, Prof Johnson Urama, who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, announced Ododo as the winner at 10:23 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023. According to the announced results, Ododo polled 446,237 votes, to beat his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052, while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 46,362 votes.
However, the petitioners approached the tribunal seeking an overturn of the election results and an order directing INEC to conduct a fresh election in about five LGAs.
Arguments at the tribunal Ajaka’s legal team led by Joseph Okutepa(SAN) had challenged the poll on the grounds of alleged forgery, voting and non-compliance to the Electoral Act. The petitioner called 25 witnesses from the five Local Government Areas including Adavi, and Okene LGAs, and they challenged the results from the disputed polling units.
The petitioners also alleged that over-voting occurred in 5 local government areas of Kogi state including Adavi, Okene, Okeyi, and LGAs.
However, the APC legal team led by Emmanuel Ukala challenged the competence of the witnesses presented by the petitioner, adding that their statements were not filed along with the petition.
Counsel for INEC, Kanu Agabi (SAN) maintained that the witnesses presented by the petitioner were incompetent because “they are not the makers” of the electoral documents submitted as exhibits. The tribunal dismissed the petition and affirmed the election of Ododo while holding that the petitioner could not prove that the governor presented a forged certificate, among other things.
Parties now approached the appeal court seeking favourable judgements for their clients.
What the Appeal Court said
On Thursday, a three-man panel of the appeal court agreed with the tribunal that Ajaka’s witnesses were incompetent because their statements did not accompany the petition in line with electoral laws.
The appeal court also held that the issue of alleged certificate forgery ought to have commenced at a Federal High Court.
Subsequently, the appeal Court held that the appellant could not prove its case “beyond reasonable doubt”, thereby upholding Ododo’s election. https://nairametrics.com/2024/07/11/appeal-court-upholds-ododos-election-as-governor-of-kogi-state/ 5 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Kogi Poll: Appeal Court Reserves Judgment In SDP, Ajaka’s Appeal by reccy(m): 9:53pm On Jul 05 |
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has reserved judgment in the appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Muritala Ajaka, against the May 27 2024, judgement of the state election petition tribunal.
Recall that a three-member panel of the Tribunal had affirmed the November 11, 2023, election victory of the state Governor, Usman Ododo, who ran for the seat under the All Progressives Congress.
The tribunal held that SDP and Ajaka failed to prove the allegations of over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act, 2022 as stated in their petition.
The panel, in a unanimous decision, held that all the witness evidence filed before it was incompetent and full of inconsistencies.
It also agreed with the submissions of the respondents that the allegations of forgery raised in the petition were pre-election matters, which ought to have been raised 14 days after the documents were submitted to INEC.
At Thursday’s sitting, a three-member panel of Justices of the appellate court reserved judgment in the appeal to a date that would be communicated to parties involved after the adumbration and adoption of addresses.
In their arguments, the respondents prayed the court to dismiss the appellants’ appeal while in the cross-appeal the appellants urged the court to dismiss the cross-appeal in its entirety.
He said, “We urge your Lordships to indulge this process and dismiss this appeal for lacking in merit. There is an issue of jurisdiction arising from the place of the appellant in prayer 8 of page 25 of the appellant’s brief of argument
If you claim that the election was invalid, how do you ask to be declared the winner of the election.”
He also argued that the evidence of the petitioners was grossly insufficient, citing a Supreme Court decision.
Agabi argued that once the evidence called is grossly insufficient, there is no evidence. He said the petitioners only called 25 witnesses out of the 660 listed.
He further argued that out of the 25 witnesses called by the petitioners, there was no single polling unit agent among them.
He added that the prosecution witness 1 did not file any witness deposition beforehand as required by law and as such cannot give evidence in an election petition.
He said “You must file a witness deposition beforehand. My Lord the witness did not file a witness deposition beforehand and the tribunal rejected his witness.
The witness also hinged that he cannot authenticate that the BVAs machine before him in court was the one used in the election. How then can the tribunal go through with his testimony”?
Agabi argued that there were inconsistencies in the case of the appellants.
He said the Appeal Court had decided that if the grounds of a petition were inconsistent with one another, and were not consistent with the reliefs, it should be struck out.
Joseph Daudu, who appeared for Ododo, argued that no single evidence of PW1 was admitted as evidence by the court on the ground that the appellants failed to front-load their witness statement beforehand.
Daudu said the tribunal did no wrong to have expunged the evidence of PW1.
He contended that the tribunal already declared it inadmissible because the appellants failed to prove the allegation of over-voting in their petition.
He also urged the tribunal to dismiss the allegations of forgery against his client, saying it bordered on a pre-election matter, which the apex court had decided in Gbagi’s case against INEC. Daudu, who said they failed to prove allegations of over-voting, also argued that Section 137 of the Electoral Act cited by the petitioners on allegations of over-voting did not apply in the instant petition.
He prayed the court to dismiss the appeal and affirm the judgment of the Tribunal which upheld the election of Ododo.
APC counsel, Emmanuel Ukala, prayed the appellate court to dismiss the petition for being incompetent.
Ajaka’s counsel, Pius Akubo, while adopting processes, urged the court to set aside the judgement of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and declare Ajaka as the governor of Kogi state.
Ajaka and his party in the appeal hinged on 31 grounds, insisted that they are the winners of the November 11, 2023 governorship election and should be declared so.The appellants argued that the judgement of the Tribunal which affirmed Ododo’s election was a serious miscarriage of justice.
He also urged the panel to dismiss the cross-appeal of the respondents who prayed to the court to dismiss his petition.
Kogi had on Nov. 11, 2023, conducted its off-cycle election which produced Ododo as the winner of the polls. Ajaka, his closest rival, came in second position according to the result announced by the electoral body https://punchng.com/kogi-poll-appeal-court-reserves-judgment-in-sdp-ajakas-appeal/?amp 2 Likes |
